View 4 Repliesthis is what i need to do: In the right-hand label, invert the colors of the image. Hint: the inverting white should give black and inverting black should give white. Inverting red (255,0,0) gives cyan (0,255,255). visual basic express 2008 this is what i have, what do i need to make changes to in order to accomplish this?

Not for pictures, but for text and backgrounds also in the form. Is this possible?
View 1 RepliesI am trying to figure out how to print a string of text inverted so the background would be black, and the text would be white. Is there any way to do this using drawstring? Been looking around, but am not getting anywhere.
View 3 RepliesIs there any way to invert the screen. For example, making upside down or having mirror effect?
View 1 RepliesCurrently I have the following VB.NET code to make a screenshot of my desktop, but it only takes a picture of the active screen:
Public Function SaveScreen(ByVal theFile As String) As Boolean
Try
SendKeys.Send("%{PRTSC}")[code].....
The following code is how I execute the above function, if it makes any difference, which I don't think it does:
SaveScreen("C:Lexer_tracescreen.png")
Now, I need to be able to take a picture of the entire screen, not just the focused window.
Sometimes when updating the entire screen or moving around controls etc, there is some fairly bad screen flickering.
View 2 RepliesI'm using the code below to get a screenshot of the entire screen.
VB.NET
Dim b As New Bitmap(Me.Width, _
Me.Height, _
[Code]....
But I need to edit it so that it only takes the a screenshot of my form. I'm not sure how to pass the absolute coordinates of my form's top most left corner and it's bottom most right corner.
I have a user who wants to print the form that is on the screen(the entire form not just the data) on the click of a button, is there a quick and easy way to capture it and print it. Kind of like a screen shot? I suggested that they could just do alt/printscreen and capture the form that way and print it but they want it all to be done from a print button for them.
View 14 RepliesI have resized the form by using the following code. what i want to do is that i want to fit the entire screen horizontally...so that the horizontal scroll bar doesent appear.....
Private Sub Resize_Form()
Dim cControl As Control
Dim i_i As Integer[code]..........
Which value do i change in the code that the screen squeezes horizontally ...? There are only two controls on the right side when we scroll....i think if the resolution is done correctly then it will fit in the screen.....but i dont know what chages should be made in the code.
I have a program and wish to generalise its appearance at startup on different machines. This worked OK until I moved it onto a Windows 7 unit with a 22" screen. The front page covers less than 2/3 of the screen. I know I've asked the system for 'working area' but could not find a reference to the entire screen which other applications seem able to use. How can I catch up with them? The code is from VB in VS2005. Is this my limitation?

how I would be able to print the entire portion of the screen which the form occupies,Basically, my problem lies in that the way I print now will properly print the form's buttons/labels/textboxes etc. But it will not print the WebComponent AxChartspace that I have added to it. So basically my form is partially blank.

I wanted to make a screen recorder (not screen capture) program, but I am not entirely sure how to get it started. I have seen many videos and things on how to make one, but all of these just take multiple pictures and then don't compile them into a movie file, and I don't want to take many pictures (unless that is the only way possible.) I am using Visual Basic 2010 Express and I have looked at the Windows Media Encoder, but I can't seem to figure out how to use/implement it (yes, I have downloaded and installed it.) Maybe I can use some kind of ActiveX control?
View 3 RepliesI am trying to create a simple paint program with radio buttons to change colors and size of the brush and draw within a panel on my form(VB 2008 Express).I cannot get the buttons to work. What do I need to put in the radion button event to change brush color and then also brush size? Following is the code I have so far, with nothing in the radio button events, because everything I try does not work.
Public Class PaintForm
Private shouldPaint As Boolean = False ' determines whether to paint
Private Sub Panel1_MouseDown(ByVal sender As System.Object, _[code]......
I am relatively new to VB but have written a few VBA applications.I want to write a context menu item for Firefox that allows the user to right mouse on a field that is being displayed and take some action. Is it possible to identify the field the cursor is on and pass the entire value to the vb program? If so which namespace should I be searching for methods? Can this be done without selecting the field's contents or does the user have to select the field?

I'm currently trying to write a program in VB.NET which fluidly changes the DWM window colorization colors in Windows 7.I first tried to edit Registry values directly, but I had to restart the UXSMS service. This solution was unsatisfying, because of the toggle of the taskbar.
I'm now searching for a function in a DLL such as user32.dll or themecpl.dll which can reproduce the behaviour of control panel when setting the window color.I'm now on IDA, searching for the adquate function (CColorCplPage::SetDwmColorizationColor seems good!).
I am trying to write a program that deletes temp files from my entire c drive. windows 7 will not allow any file manipulation. access denied . everything works fine in windows xp. what needs to be changed in my code to allow anyone to install this program on their computer and run it without errors like this. I need to change my code to correct this not windows 7, as other people will be installing this on their systems and they can't be setting their c drives. every answer i've found online is either to change c drive to have no security or set the code to demand uac to run as administrator(which doesn't work )
View 7 RepliesI am trying to have a vertical scroll bar on a form.I would like the value of the scroll bar to be, from top to bottom, 35 to -35.
I tried to set the minimum value to 35 and max to -35, but vb wont allow it.
Is there a way to do this without catching the value when it's changed and storing the inverted value in a variable?
I am using something like[code]...
however the above will clip the drawing to a 100x100 ellipse ...
my question is how can i reverse the clip so that it paints everywhere except in the ellipse?
I am trying to develop a application that will invert my mouse but that will run in the background of my computer. I do not know how this can be done.
View 9 RepliesI'm trying to set my software up so that you could invert the selection if needed.
This is the code I have so far:
Private Sub InvertSelectionToolStripMenuItem_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles InvertSelectionToolStripMenuItem.Click
If Me.chk_7zip.Checked = True Then
[Code]....
I already figured out how to Select all and Select none and it seems to know that when I want to invert the selection if there is no checkmark in the checkbox that it should check it but if I hit it again or if was selected previously it won't uncheck it..
I made vb.net program for 1440x900 resolution, if i run my program on 800x600 or 1024x768, my program's resolution is bigger then windows, so i have problem with resolution. Now i want to change my program's size and i am interested in, wich resolution is correct to make program, 800x600 such as minimum?

I am overlaying a staff members ID number over their photo using drawstring.
As the image can vary from dark to light no one text colour can assure that the text will be readable.
Is there an easy way to invert the text colour pixel by pixel based on the colour of the image pixel the text will be drawn onto.
I was wondering can you get a program made w/ vb to click on a certain part of the screen outside of the program? and also, can you copy information from outside the program in another window and store it in the program as a variable.

View 2 RepliesBTW this issue occurs in any MS office program when the VB.Net (or even VBA) is processing information.Example: In Excel, a worksheet is displayed on the screen. I start either, a VB.Net or VBA procedure and within 30 seconds the Excel worksheet (previously displayed) blanks out. In both VB.Net and VBA,ScreenUpdating = False. My expectation is that the previously displayed screen would stay static as if I left my desk to get a cup of coffee; came back and the same ole Excel worksheet was still there?Of course, setting VBA Screen Updating = False accomplishes two goals: 1) speeds up processing and 2) saves the user from seeing unnecessary "garbage-processing" steps. Why does VBA or VB.Net ScreenUpdating = False not freeze the screen at the time of its invoking?
