I have a window application develpoed in vs 2008, framework 3.5, in which i have put a button.. Now where i click that button the other text boxes are filled up with the data from database thru web service.. what i want is while all text boxes are being filled i want to show an animated loading gif image till data loading is completed in all the text boxes.. i have tried to use image picture box but while data is loading gif image is displyes but in static mode.. cant see animation... i think this is because data loading and animation both are done thru one UI thread..

But if I use the same SqlClient. SQLdataAdaptor to insert record into DB again immidately, it will take shorter time to load. However, if I wait for 5-10mins, then use the same SqlClient.SQLdataAdaptor to insert record into DB again, it will take longer time to load again.Can anyone tell me this loading is due to the SQL Server itself / the VB.net?Can anyone suggest me a way to check the reason of this loading? I'm having a problem with loading two text boxes from a saved text file. I've built a log in form that saves the user-name and password on separate lines in a text file.I have a save button and a load button. I have an application that will not load unless my local SQL Server is running on an Vista Home Premium machine. This started after a .Net 1 to .Net 4 conversion. I am using a sub main sub that is not being called (msgbox is not fired when entering the app), however, I see the app through taskmgr with increasing memory usage, but then the app is removed from the list. By design, if the program cannot locate a SQL Server a form pops up with a connection box to locate the SQL Server for the app. How it determines if it has a valid connection is the program looks for a connection string in the registry, then attempts to connect to it, however, none of this code executes because of the failure to enter into the sub main.The two machines I have tried the 32 bit app on

On the main screen of the program, I want to show all the saved quotes from the xml file in a datagridview, I just need to show the date, category, author, title of the quotes, I also need the datagridview to refresh everytime a new quote is saved.
