Lotto Programming - Have Some Input In App To Possibly Entering Previous Lotto Winning Combinations?
Nov 15, 2011
This idea of mine is basically more of an experiment ive wanted to play around with so here are some features im after.Firstly some of the conditions i would like to have are to give me total amount of combinations possible for a 1-45 number game. I would like to have some input in this app in regards to possibly entering previous lotto winning combinations and the app to remember what i've previously entered and to eliminate them from total overall combinations left as well update odds at the same time.another condition i would like would be to be able to retrieve a list of all combinations of a required sum i.e a required sum being all 6 numbers added up together, also to be able to remember odds and combinations left To be able to eliminate all even or all odd combinations or even say 5 even or 5 odd combinations basically a filter with these sorts of conditions and of course to update odds and combinations left meanwhile retaining all other possible, or id like to possibly be able to apply filter after filter where i feel the need too i also have a few more conditions id like to have though see what happens if some people can help me out or not guess i might discuss the other conditions id like.
My Form has a 3 numeric up down's 2 for the Range "Min & Max" 1 for the Nuber of Numbers that are supposed to be displayed in my TextBox "Mumber" 1 TextBox"tbNumbers" 2 Buttons The first just generates a single Number in the Range.
Dim SingleNumber As New Random Dim NumberRange As Integer = SingleNumber.Next(CInt(Min.Value), CInt(Max.Value)) tbNumbers.Text = NumberRange.ToString
I'm relatively new to programming and VB on a whole and iwith the following. I'm supposed to do a program that will generate 6 random numbers and display them on a label from an array of 53 numbers. When i press the "Gamble" button the numbers in each of the 6 labels on my form should change.
Public Class Lotto Dim intNumber As Integer Dim arrNumber(0 To 5) As Integer
I have a slight issue on my program. I have everything in working order except for displaying "You Win!" or "Try Again!" after all text boxes have been hovered. Currently it displays the answer on the first hover because all boxes are already populated with random numbers from an Array and it knows the answer. I want the label to display at the end of the game on the last hover event.
Public Class Form1 'Declare variables we want to use on more than one sub or function. Private randObj As New Random(1) Private LottoArray(5) As Integer
I am trying to create a lotto simulation, but don't know how to continue.I am using numericupdowns to allow users to select 6 lotto numbers. and labels to display what they have chosen, but i'm not sure how to prevent duplicates without creating a large number of If statementsMy question is, is there an easier way to prevent duplicates without writing a bunch of if statements?here is my code:
Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim Lotto1, Lotto2, Lotto3, Lotto4, Lotto5, Lotto6 As Single Lotto1 = Val(NumericUpDown1.Text) lblLotto1.Text = Lotto1 Lotto2 = Val(NumericUpDown2.Text) lblLotto2.Text = Lotto2 Lotto3 = Val(NumericUpDown3.Text)
[code]....
I don't understand how to save the user selected numbers, let the computer generate 6 random numbers, and match the two sets of numbers together to see how many matches there are. As far as I understand the numbers should be stored in 2 separate arrays and then matched together to find any matches.
Entering a date with an Input Box and validating it to ensure it has been entered in form dd/mm/yy. I have a VB Macro in Excel and I want the user to enter a date in an Input Box in the format dd/mm/yy. The entry needs to be validated to ensure it is valid and if possible in dd/mm/yy format which if not would request another date is entered.
i am using validated function and i would like to close the form without entering any input and not generate an error. is there a method that changes the exit command to allow this?Sometimes the answer is so blindingly obvious i fail to see it.
So I pretty much built the game, that was the easy part. I am having trouble entering a name on my first form(startup) and keeping track of the score on second form(game) and displaying it both combined on the first page with the current users score. Also the way it set up now if you are running the game for the first time it says can't find LowScores.Text. Start Up
i am making application and for the security pupose i setup a registration form and use the masked texbox to as the input of the serial till now this is my code
Private Sub Serial1_TextChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Serial1.TextChanged If Serial1.Text.Length = 4 Then Serial2.Focus()[code]....
I can't figure out the syntax for searching an array of stored words for a string matching an input string. I understand the pseudocode of it, but I'm tripping up over what variables I need to put where, and how they should be formatted. More than happy to provide more details should anyone request them.
I have 3 TextBox control, 2 is for keyin data and 1 is for Display data,
[Code]...
What I want is to display combine input data from TextBox1.Text and TextBox2.Text to TextBox3.Text I mean keep any previous data input in same TextBox and saperate it using a comma (,) or (;) for combination I am using (@)
Example: In TextBox1.Text I put 200 and TextBox2.Text 2000... Click button Save and I want it to be display in TextBox3.Text as 200@2000 and again I Enter 500 in TextBox1.Text and 5000 in TextBox2.Text Click save button and I want it be display in TextBox3.Text as 200@2000;500@5000 which is 200@2000 is the first input data... and it continue as many as it can.
Suppose a sequential file contains the information shown below. I need to write a program to use the file and produce a new list where the teams are in descending order by the percentage of games won, and also displaying the winning percentage Team Won Lost Baltimore 69 93 Boston 96 66 New York 94 68 Tampa Bay 66 96 Toronto 83 79
I am coding myself a Visual Basic.Net 2005 Slot Machine program. I've been hard at work on this for about a week and half now. From what I have with it it works and all. However there are so many annoying errors with the program.
LIST: - I am not winning when I should be. My winning conditions is set when you get 3 of the same picture you are to be awarded with some credits. It works but sometimes when it does land on 3 of the same pictures it still says that I've lost. This is the main problem and I am about to pull my hair out about this - The image with the lowest value is showing up the least and the picture with the most value is showing up more frequent? I don't want to change them around to fix that.
The application I want to make is what I would call quite simple, you will have two text boxes where you enter in two team names. i.e. Team 1 v Team 2 Then below a little search button. And then when you click the button it will show a percentage of whom is most likely to win. Now I know that I would have to most likely enter something like Team 1 v Team 2 WIN Team 1 Team 1 v Team 3 LOSS Team 1 Team 1 v Team 4 WIN Team 1 In some kind of script for this to work so when you search for TEAM 1 v Team 2 it will show WIN Team 1
I am trying to rewrite a php function to vb.net and can't find out what the heck this does... I thought it did HEX, but I am getting a different value.[code]so basically I need something that takes each character and finds whatever "0x0" is doing.
I've been pulling my hair for three days trying to figure out what has gone wrong in what little code I have in my first attempt at both the minimax algorithm, and recursive calls in general (I'm relatively new to programming). Basically, I have everything working in the application except for the thing I wanted to actually learn and work on in it: The minimax algorithm. Basically, whenever a player makes a move, the computer will do one of two things:
If there is a winning move right next to it, it will use that move. Easy as pie. However, if this move isn't in direct sight, it will pick whatever move lets the player win. The exact opposite of what it should be doing. I know it's not coming from:
I am porting Excel VBA to VB.NET. I have a function that takes a selection of data, and it may be one dimensional or two. VBA code is quite fluid about using a variable as either a 1-D or 2-D array, but VB.NET marks it as an error.
Here is the reduced code: Public Function Stat(ByVal Data As Range) As Object Dim Y() As Object
Got a dll from a supplier that I need to call. His declaration is Declaration with Microsoft Visual Basic: [code]Now, the Sting * 20 is clearly not VB.NET, and sure enough it crashes when run - "Attempt to read or write in protected memory" and that leads me to think that there is something with that string definition - or possibly the I_Ref definition which hasn't been defined as fixed length.I've tried <VBFixedString(20)> when defining O_Err, but I have a feeling that it might not be enough when the function declaration is like that (not specifically fixed length). I cannot figure out how to specify this correctly. As a small hmmmm, the above is pasted directly from the suppliers documentation, but that't will never work, as there is a "," missing after I_Range as long... Clearly not something he has pasted from a working program.
We are in the process of upgrading to WIN7 support and finding issues with the existing impersonant security model we previously used. So i am looking for suggestions before we hit the code.Application ABC.exe is running on a PC with restricted permissions
In my code I enter a string in a text box and have the query check the server for the entry. If it exists it returns the string and the date into two separate variables. The database only has TrackingNumber and Date. Below is the code. As of right now i get "Invalid attempt to read when no data is present." at the "If (sdr("TrackingNumber") IsNot Nothing) Then" line.
Public Function CreateSqlParameter(ByVal name As String, ByVal dbType As DbType, ByVal direction As ParameterDirection, ByVal value As Object) As SqlParameter Dim parameter As SqlParameter = New SqlParameter()
I though I had solved this problem, but it is back:Code generation for property 'SelectedPeople' failed. Error was: 'Type 'ECS.Entities.Persistency.Person' in Assembly 'ECS, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' is not marked as serializable.'The property on the error message is a List(Of Person) and for some reason it trigger this error, for almost anything I do, and its getting really anoying.Okanswering to the answers here is a little more information about the problem.
Yes it is during design time, it happens bascially anytime a open a form that has a UserControl that contains the Selected property in it, sometimes it happens even if I don't have focus on the form, also if I try to compile/run it happens and the message come in the form of a Message Box with just a OK, ECS.Entities.Persistency.Person is just a LINQ to SQL Generated Class, this should not matter at all to the problem, although I have added the attribute before the posting.he reason that this happens is because the Designer attempts to put the property on the Property Panel, and for that to happen, serialization happens.tryed to hide the property from the designer by using this attributes.
<DesignerSerializationVisibility(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Hidden)> _ <Browsable(False)> _ Public Property SelectedPeople() As List(Of Person)
I have a form with a large GroupBox on it. Inside there are a total of 22 buttons, arranged in two columns of 11. These buttons are basically shortcuts that can be defined by the user. I would like to allow the user to rearrange these buttons by some simple means. (Drag and Drop being ideal.) I have the following code, which allows me to drag the buttons around:
I am making an address book for my final project in school, and have a few questions. In my address book, there is a feature to add groups so you can sort your contacts. The problem is, the add group feature is in a different form, I tried calling a procedure from the parent form to refresh all data but it does not work.[code]
I have recently taken a liking to programming, and have programmed a few games in C#,my friend has asked me to program an application for him to use in his shop. But I have no idea of what language is best suitable?
I want simply to generate rapidly combinations of 16 take by2 using linq.So I want to display me the combinations only not arrangements:1,2 (not 2,1 because there are combinations)...1,16 2,3 (not 3,2) because they are combinations..2,16..Comb of 16 take by 2 makes 120 so 120 combinations will be displayed on screen.[code]So my question is how to display rapidly on screen the combinations of 16 take by 2 using this Enumerable class of Visual Basic .NET(the 120combinations in fact)
