I am confused about how to make a button able to clear the text in all textboxes. I know in c# I can just say textbox1.Clear(); but this won't work in this case.
View 2 Repliesi have 3 textboxes on an asp.net page and i would like to send the text on all those textboxes as an email message body when a button is clicked. I want each text on each textbox to appear on a new line(this i can do), but i also want the lines to be bulleted.
Something like
Text on Textbox1
Text on Textbox2
Text on Textbox3
I'm trying to make a Doctor's program where the doctor has to enter the patients detail into several text boxes (Name, Age, Address...). So, after he has entered all the information, he would want to save it somehow so he could open up the information
again. How would i do that. I thought it could be saved in a database, or even in a text file.
I'm trying to work out how i can make my multithreaded app stop at a certain point and wait for the user to type something into a text box and click ok. It must then carry on and when a different thread gets to that point it stops again and waits for the user to input some text again.

In the code above, if there are no children (the ChildrenPath property returns NULL), nothing is rendered in the view. In the code below, when ChildrenDataSetPath is NULL the XamDataGrid still gets rendered. How do I achieve the same for a single object (as opposed to a collection) as the datacontext?

View 1 RepliesI'm writing a macro to automate the process of attaching to the IIS worker process (w3wp.exe, Windows Server 2k8) from Visual Studio. The trouble is that I often two app pools running at any given time, one in x64 mode and one in x86 mode. This means there are two processes called w3wp.exe running at any given time, and the only way to distinguish between them is the mode they are running in. When I use the "Attach to Process" dialog, there is a "Type" column that shows that information so I know which w3wp.exe to attach to, but I can't figure out how to get that information in my macro.[code]....
View 1 Repliesin An MDI form , i make a childform with textboxes. these textboxes are produced by the code, like this:
For i As Integer = 0 To number Step 1
Dim TextBox As New TextBox
ChildForm.Controls.Add(TextBox)
[Code]....
In another sub within the MDI class i want to read the data from the textboxes, but got an error that says txtBox1 is not a member of 'WindowsApplication1.Form1'.This is true because they do not exist yet. How can i handle this? I think it has something to do with "delegate and invoke", but this seems to be hard to understand.
Is there any way of making controls that aren't textboxes into readonly controls? Specifically I have a date time picker (but I have the problem occasionally with other controls), that I want to make ReadOnly as opposed to disabled so that the user can see clearly what is in the control but cannot edit it. Making a control like this disabled makes it hard to read and furthermore, gives the impression to the user that they are to ignore the field, which defeats the object.
I'm sure a suggestion will also be to stick the information into a text box, however there are other date time picker controls that CAN be edited in the same window, and it would make life a lot easier if the layout of each was exactly the same.
This works if I don't have an IfElse statement but even then it only shows 1 txtBox().I want 4 panels and 4 rows of textboxes in each one. with multiple txtbox()'s in each oneI'm just starting on it, but as usual I hit an error, see below. Also, how do I get this code in here without the double spacing problem?
Dim pnlbox(4)
As Panel
Dim txtBox(70)

I have created a listbox with several items that when a button is clicked, it opens up the application that uses that file and then starts the file. this all works fine, but I wanted to know if there is a way to show a marquee-type progress bar for each process as it's being opened?
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
If CheckedListBox1.SelectedItem = "ITEM ONE" Then
Process.Start("c:\DIRECTORY\ITEMONE.exe")
End If

I was looking for some better way of coding to populate all text boxes and make them visible once a button is clicked. I have a letter like format on a page with labels displaying address, name etc and it was recommended that on this page some of the information should be able to be edited. The idea I had was to keep the labels displaying the information but then when the edit details button is clicked the labels disappear, text boxes will appear and be populated with the same text as the label to allow the user to edit the details.
I seem to repeating lines of code but changing one thing each time on page load
Dim Sname As String = Request.QueryString("Name")
lblStuName.Text = Sname
tbStuName.Text = Sname
tbStuName.visible=false
[Code] .....
On edit button
tbStuName.visible=true
tbAddress.visible = true
etc..
On the save button
sqlStatement = "UPDATE StuTable SET Name = '" & lblStuName.Text & "', Address = '" & lblAddress.Text
My code seems very repetitive in many parts, I was looking for a better coding style to do this.
