This is the current code im using. it shows in the listbox i have the file that i select. It also shows how ever where its located. Ex. C:folder\folder\file. I want only the files name to show up in the box but i cannot figure it out.

Now in form 1 there is a textbox which shows the user's ID and when i click a button that links form 1 (user details) to form 2 (transport usage) i want another textbox in form 2 to have the same user ID as in form 1. (the user ID always changes)

Jul 8, 2010I'm making a custom Toolbox Component which I want to restrict to one instance per form It's a non-visual component like a Timer, not a control. I am able to enforce the restriction at design time by checking if the Container.Components list already contains a component of the same type.But I want to do something similar when someone adds an instance of the component in code. It's easy in the case of a Control because you can check in Form.Controls. Unfortunately the Controls list doesn't contain non-visual components.

Apr 7, 2010Alright, so what I'm looking to do is make a dock or some other thing that I can hide/show for programs. Kind of like a shortcut holder. how to approach the issue. I'm thinking maybe I could make a new button based on some settings in the VB thing, but that seems rather inconvenient. I was also wondering if anybody knew how to get the icons from shortcuts or the rest to use those as display pictures. "Victory is difficult to see beyond the devestation incurred in its pursuit."

Designing Software - Making A MPC Sampler - Drum Machine - Making A Sound Directory ?
May 16, 2012I'm a huge music person (got my own lil record thing going) but I'm wanting to design a program that would make music in my way. I have a decent amount of background knowlege of Visual Basic and Java I'm just wondering how could I execute this whole project. The Project is making a MPC Sampler. MPC is a drum machine; a machine with buttons that once you press it that it will play a sound from a drum (ex: snare, kick, tom, ect.) . So I would want to make some pads on my program that each have their own sound. Total of 16 pads. Which the design wouldn't be hard to make nor would the functionality of it having the play back sound (in my opinoin it wouldn't be hard atleast). But the thing is I wanna map out these pads to number keys on the number pad or keyboard. I'm not so sure how to do that. But that's all the easy stuff...
Also finding information is making a sound directory. What I mean by this is that I want to make a User Interface that will open up a file directory of sounds and the user can select what "kick" or "snare" sound he may want for the kick or snare pad. I don't know how to do that or even know what to search; neverless I don't know if this whole project idea is a good idea for Visual Basic or another programing language.
Also LATER ON I am wanting to add a record and export function that alows users to..well...record and export their beat or instrumental ha. That doesn't seem too too complex (mainly due to the fact that all it needs to do is record the users key strokes and then show them and play the sounds, but obviously it would get more complex than that.)

etc.
I want to show an explanation and for the addition and subtraction, I want to show it on a number line. For example, if the problem is 3 - 7, the number line should show and arrow to that goes right to 3, and then left 7 units (starting from 3). Then the student can see that the answer is -4.I could probably do this with some string manipulation, but what would be the easiest way to do it in a picture format? Maybe a bitmap.

Edit (06/03/09): Well, I'm confused. so as to work properly, my COM+ component needs it's dll to be registered. Why not? But then, how to be sure I'm making a COM+ call, and not a COM one?
