Apr 23, 2012With my code as I have a trouble with the returned strings that I have extracted from my php source to add the strings in my listview.
I'm reading the tags of mystrings1 and mystrings2 for each paragraph from the php source. I got the returned strings which it looks like this:

Jun 21, 2010I am planning to create a system for my case study wherein i can Add tags from images and search for it by "tags" such as photobucket. For example i open an image to my system, and it's file name was "WhiteHouse.jpg" and i added or tagged it as "Building". Once i search on my computer, and type the word/keyword "Building", the image "WhiteHouse.jpg" will be displayed on search results as i tagged it on my system.Is that possible guys? or i can only search by tags using my system/application? and not in the search command in my computer?If it is possible please tell me what to do. or if you have sample vb.net2008(windows Application) files it will be helpful. Jan 26, 2010I know .NET no longer supports DDE however unfortunately most "Finance" related programs (ie, charting and data vendors) use DDE to tie into their data. (Ie, esignal, Marktfeed etc). I've been toying around with NDDE however I'm having a hard time implementing it...unless I'm just making 1 request then it's fine. My question is would it be possible to take VB6 Label Control since it has the "Linkmode, LinkTopic, LinkItem, Label_Change" Properties/Methods and events in it....and create something like DDELabel.dll via Activex control project then use that as part of VB.net?
I tried doing it via the Control Wizard then using it in .NET however I know for a fact I'm not doing it right. Perhaps if someone much more competent could attempt it see if it does give the DDE functionality when used in .NET they can point me in the right direction...

Jan 13, 2009I have 5 different applications that I have written for my business, they are all interfaces for a point of sale system. I TCP/IP interface handling part of the application is rock solid, problem is that occationally I will come across a small issue, such as a memory leak that I came across a few weeks ago. After I fixed it, I had to then fix said leak in 5 different projects as they all use the same interface base code.Now, if things were different, say a function that all my applications used I would just write it into a class in a dll and have all my applications use the function from that class. Problem is however, using a parent/child explanation unlike my example here where I have interface 1 - 5 as my parents using common.dll as a common child. I need to have InterfaceParent using 5 different children with different attributes.That being said, there are a few stipulations, depending on the customer I may only need to install interface 1 and 3, or 2 and 5, or 1,3 and 4.

May 16, 2012I'm a huge music person (got my own lil record thing going) but I'm wanting to design a program that would make music in my way. I have a decent amount of background knowlege of Visual Basic and Java I'm just wondering how could I execute this whole project. The Project is making a MPC Sampler. MPC is a drum machine; a machine with buttons that once you press it that it will play a sound from a drum (ex: snare, kick, tom, ect.) . So I would want to make some pads on my program that each have their own sound. Total of 16 pads. Which the design wouldn't be hard to make nor would the functionality of it having the play back sound (in my opinoin it wouldn't be hard atleast). But the thing is I wanna map out these pads to number keys on the number pad or keyboard. I'm not so sure how to do that. But that's all the easy stuff...
Also finding information is making a sound directory. What I mean by this is that I want to make a User Interface that will open up a file directory of sounds and the user can select what "kick" or "snare" sound he may want for the kick or snare pad. I don't know how to do that or even know what to search; neverless I don't know if this whole project idea is a good idea for Visual Basic or another programing language.
Also LATER ON I am wanting to add a record and export function that alows users to..well...record and export their beat or instrumental ha. That doesn't seem too too complex (mainly due to the fact that all it needs to do is record the users key strokes and then show them and play the sounds, but obviously it would get more complex than that.)

Apr 2, 2012I'm using the ExifTools code to read and update the EXIF for JPEGs in a VB.NET project I am developing. So far I've been successful with doing what I need to but I'm having difficulty with the last thing on my wishlist- the "Keywords" or "Tags" entry. The "Tags" property (as accessed by file right-click->properties->Details and just below the rating stars) is populated with information but if I use the PropertyItem for Keywords (Value 40094) with the ExifTools GetPropertyValue() function, it returns nothing.
It's pretty obvious that the "Tags" entry under file properties is not the same thing as what EXIF defines as "Keywords" but I have not been able to figure out what the correct PropertyItem value to pass is.

I added a default header and footer in the event I notice there is no opening or closing tags. I remove illegal characters and check for unicode but I always find an issue where an entry slips in and gives the error:data at the root level is invalid and when I check that entry is slipped through the cleaning process or just has an unmatched tag somewhere. Now I use
