Currently, I am try to get the email addresses that have been saved or stored by the user of the computer. This isn't the emails that the user has sent or received, or the contacts he/she has in his address book. Just simply the email accounts that have been accessed from the computer.I know that there are some locations stored in the registry that have the email account. The email addresses that are used on the current computer. I just can't seem to find them on my computer.I am not sure if the registry is the only place to find it or if it stored on the web browser such as internet explorer or google chrome.

I have the communication to the com port all working great, but I need to get the com port description not just the "COM#" which is all I currently get.
I found in the registry where the description is stored but am having trouble doing what I need.

there is a varied number of sub keys. The are numbered 0000-NNNN depending on how many ports you have. Inside each of these keys, there are multiple values, although I am only interested in one or 2 of them.
My problem is, that I do not know how to get a list of the subkeys (the 0000-NNNN keys/folders) from the original key I posted. I have looked through a few registry tutorials, and I can view the default value in the listed key, but I could not find how to list the subkeys of the listed key.
Does anyone have any sample code they could share that shows how I can get a listing of subkeys, and then run through those subkeys checking for a specific value in one of the strings contained in the subkey?

With my code as I have a trouble with the returned strings that I have extracted from my php source to add the strings in my listview.
I'm reading the tags of mystrings1 and mystrings2 for each paragraph from the php source. I got the returned strings which it looks like this:

I have several programs that must write to HKLM in XP and Windows 7/64 Pro.The programs work in VB6 but not in VB.Net 2008 on target machines. It does works on our development machine. [code]I just cannot figure out why VB6 works but .net doesn't and fails only on the target machine not the development machine.

For example i open an image to my system, and it's file name was "WhiteHouse.jpg" and i added or tagged it as "Building". Finally, I want to apply this setting to the program on four different computers (local, and three others on the network).
I know .NET no longer supports DDE however unfortunately most "Finance" related programs (ie, charting and data vendors) use DDE to tie into their data. (Ie, esignal, Marktfeed etc). I've been toying around with NDDE however I'm having a hard time implementing it...unless I'm just making 1 request then it's fine. My question is would it be possible to take VB6 Label Control since it has the "Linkmode, LinkTopic, LinkItem, Label_Change" Properties/Methods and events in it....and create something like DDELabel.dll via Activex control project then use that as part of VB.net?
I tried doing it via the Control Wizard then using it in .NET however I know for a fact I'm not doing it right. Perhaps if someone much more competent could attempt it see if it does give the DDE functionality when used in .NET they can point me in the right direction...

I TCP/IP interface handling part of the application is rock solid, problem is that occationally I will come across a small issue, such as a memory leak that I came across a few weeks ago. After I fixed it, I had to then fix said leak in 5 different projects as they all use the same interface base code.Now, if things were different, say a function that all my applications used I would just write it into a class in a dll and have all my applications use the function from that class. Problem is however, using a parent/child explanation unlike my example here where I have interface 1 - 5 as my parents using common.dll as a common child. I need to have InterfaceParent using 5 different children with different attributes.That being said, there are a few stipulations, depending on the customer I may only need to install interface 1 and 3, or 2 and 5, or 1,3 and 4.

When I hit enter I want to rename the file (from "00001.jpg" to "ceiling-cat-sends-son.jpg", then fill in the keywords, title, subject, and comments fields with the same data: "ceiling cat sends son".
local indexing and with my (later) automating a SQL server referential database for use with site wide searches on my website. The ONLY thing I can't seem to figure out is how to modify those four fields as if I had right-clicked the file and added the keywords.
When in VS 2008 if a developer hits the ''' it generates the XML comment tags for you, but this only works when the project setting for "Generate XML documentation file" is checked. Is there a way to tell VS to generate the XML Comment tags, regardless of the project setting? I think it is possible that someone may want comments but not create a XML documentation file. In this case I am exceeding the current Team Settings, yet other developers don't want me to change this project setting. This forces me to flip this back before checking in the project. I have the same problem with other Project settings like "code Analysis". This is only a problem for VB.NET projects.
