Not Able To View Text Document When Accessing Link From Live Site

I have created an application which will open a text file on the click of a button, when i am running the application in local, I am able to get the popup asking to open or save the text file, I uploaded the same code to live site there it is not displaying the popup to open or save the text file. It just flashes a window for fraction of seconds and then closes, user is not able to perform any action in that course of time. Text document which I am trying to open is available at both server and local, and path is also correct in both cases.
Below is the code I am using to open the text file:

I am trying to create a small program that checks [URL] for a work order every minutes. While I don't know of any API that I can use, I think it would be easy enough to simply check the page and see if there are any new work orders listed. The question I have is how to access the work order page. Every a few minutes field nation logs you out of their website. At that point I am required to log back in again to access my account. How can I automate or bypass this process so that my program and regularly check for new workorders?

I have about 100 websites that I am going to be accessing to scrape some data from (weather, time, etc). When I go to code these babies there will be an abundance of sub routines that I will be creating. They each are going to be accessing pretty much the same type of data.
Should I put them into a Class some how and acces them that way or should I just use Subs and then call them into the Document Completed section of my web browser to run the code? Still sort of confused on the whole Class vs. Sub Routine thing.

I am trying to access MS/Word document properties without opening the file in Word. Right now I have an app that reads the document properties but it has to open the document in word. This makes it run very slowly and also makes it susceptible to crashing if the document is corrupted. In Windows Explorer, you can right-click on a word document file and select properties. The ensuing dialog box contains, in addition to the usual information, two additional tabs labelled "Summary" and "Custom" that correspond to the same tabs in the dialog box you can open from File/Properties menu in Word. I know windows explorer is not opening the document in word because there is no instance of word.exe in task manager and because it has no difficulty in obtaining this information from the file even when it cannot be opened in Word because the document has become corrupted.If anyone could help me figure out how to read custom and built-in document fields (properties) from the file without opening it in Word,

I'm trying to find a way to have text that would be "Live" as in if a user types an incorrect phrase/letter in a text box, a message will appear prior to a "save" button being pressed. It's pretty much the same as when you're registering on these forums, it checks the availabilty of the username as you type it.

I am using vb.net and jquery. Here is the problem. Using jquery I load different url links to different documents in iframe. Like this:
document.getElementById('iFrame').src = url;
Is there anyway that I can get the height and width of the document using this url? As when this iFrame is loaded I cannot get the height or width.

What gives? I don't understand why I can use this controller everywhere in our ASP.NET Forms/MVC hybrid application, but not in a view.
EDIT: In fact, when I type <% System.Web. into the .aspx view, Mvc doesn't even appear in Intellisense!

Is it possible to view every process that is accessing memory as well as windows services as well as how much thier accessing I want to make a program that can kill and block things accessing memory to block malicious programs to be able to delete the ie spyware that can't be fixed cause it adds it's self and locks it's self. From programs like spybot I can view the processes bit that's just wat windows registeres I need to look at eat is accessing memory.

I'm nearly finished making a blackjack game for my first year assignment in college using Visual Basic. The game is running ok, I'm happy with that but I am having one small issue! In the frmMain I have a counter set up so it counts and displays the number of games won and lost. From the drop down menu in the frmMain I have a Statistics option which opens another Form which I want to display the stats from the frmMain....How do I view the result on a different form?!?

I know this is probably simple but I think I may be phrasing this wrong. I'm trying to make textbox text available as soon as it's entered on a label. The below code is what I used for a click event, which generates the info I want to see(I know a live preview would make a display button redundant, but our teacher requested both). I have a program which writes to a .log file as it is installing software. Some of the lines will contain either WARNING or FAILED.
What I would like, is a window in my program which will read the .log file and display the content into this window as it is being written too. Any lines which contain WARNING or FAILED in them are highlighted yellow/red.

Ive got an app that holds a list of site we have, At each site there are a few devices. The idea is when they click on a site all the details for the site are loaded and then a second thread sits and pings each device to see if its live. Im trying to do this in a seperate thread so if they click another site while its still pinging them it doesn't wait before it switches site. This all seems to be workling fine except if you click through the sites quickly, when you do that it will eventually come up with

When i publish my program i choose to let the application check for updates via a website and if their is one update automatically when the program starts. Is their a way were on the main user form i can make it so that the user can change the update site with out me building the program again with the new site. I want to do this becuase the site i use goes down alot so when i changed the update url no one was able to download the update for the new update server.
