I am doing a bar cash register and I want to use a if statement to see if fosters button and number 1 on the number pad are both pressed then multiply constant by quantity number
Have a very nooby question here, textbox2 contains a number and if the number entered in textbox1 is higher than textbox2 i wish to display a message box but the following doesn't seem to be working properly?

I have an application that reads the output from a process running the "Net View" command. How can I determine the number of lines returned by the process so that I can dynamically set the upper bound of a "For Next" statement?
I have the following code, as i want to be able to press the number, from 0 to 6, and the corresponding button will be pressed. however, it doesn't work!! please could you tell me what's wrong with it?
Dim query = (From p in Parent _ select _ p.ID, _ Tags = String.Join("|", p.Child.Select(Function(c) c.Tag.TagName).ToArray)).Take(100)
In the above query, when using Take to limit the rows returned, a separate SQL query is executed for each row to return the 'Tags' field. If I remove Take(100), a single query to sent to Sql Server. So, how do I limit the number of rows returned, while preventing a new sub query being executed for each row?
Imports System.Math Public Class Form1 Dim var_ghost As Object Dim var_number As Double Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load [Code] .....
My question is; when you enter a variable to inputbox like "100.5" it shall return a numeric value at line1 and "100,5" too. But when I need to check for entered value is a real number or not (Look line2) CDbl("100.5") returns 1005 CDbl("100,5") returns 100,5.
how to validate 4 textboxes so that only numbers 1 to 4 can be entered but no number can be repeated.i already have code but it only validates some of the boxes and allows numbers to be repeated in other

The List Box has three candidates and a record Button. Every time the record button is hit I need it to add those button clicks for each candidate that is selected in the List Box. My code keeps counting all the clicks no matter which candidate I am selecting in the List Box. How can I differentiate between each selected item in the List Box. Here is an image of how the application should look: [URL] Public Class Form1
I have made an countdown app that is working in a normal way (added picture of it). Now when I select a number in the numeric box and click start, it starts to count down from that many minutes, but what I want is the number I put in the box *3. So if I put in 3 (points) the counter will count down 9 minutes. If it is possible I want a counter at the bottom every 3 minutes the value of the 000 at the bottom of the image multiply by 1 (+1 for every 3 mins timer1 runs).
I am trying to program the hamming code in vb... theoretically i understand and know how to do everything, first problem I've encountered is dynamic arrays in vb.net ... is it possible to determine the length of an array from the number of items entered in it, since I have no means of figuring out an exact number or length prior to several mathematical function which outcome will be the data .. directly saved to the array !!
I have designed a form with textboxes for numerical entry. I need to validate each textbox so the number entered is an integer, and is between 0-1000. I am struggling to find how to validate the data entry.
Simple code! where am I going wrong. I get end of statement expected in line 4 after valid.
Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click If valid('0') Is True Then msgbox("HI") End If
I have a UI that uses datagridviews / bindingsource / datatables of typed dataset for data entry. The dataset itself is serialized to a varbinary(max) in SQL. (i.e. no tableadapter, backend schema).I would like to limit the number of rows the user can enter into some of the grids (the data is used to fill PDF forms and I don't want them entering more rows than the forms can accomodate.).I have subclassed the datagridview, added a rowlimit property and tried to manipulate the AllUsertoAddRows property
Imports System.Windows.Forms Public Class dgv Inherits System.Windows.Forms.DataGridView[code]......
The behavior I see is that the messagebox comes up after leaving the max row even when the user is trying to leave the grid. I can lose the messagebox and deal with notification some other way but I thought someone else may have come up with something a little more sophisticated to handle simply causing attempting to add to many records to navigate out of the grid to the next UI control.
I have to write a program that does a count down on the number of seconds you entered in the GUI I have most of the code and it basically has to countdown the seconds i type in the txtStart. Attached is the program design..This is what i have so far with the code. It converts seconds to hours and minutes and seconds, but it doesn't do the countdown.[code]
I am trying to mkae sure that there has been 16 numeric digits entered into the masked textbox. If not show errror message and if so to call the fucnction ValidateLuhn. When calling Validate Luhn i want the program to tell me if the number entered is valid or invalid using the code in the function:
Vb is not my language of choice , but I have to do this for school and I'm not having a very easy time with VB's documentation.I'm just creating a very simple console application that accepts user input: degrees in Celsius, and converts it into Fahrenheit. I want to make sure that if the user just hits enter without entering the degrees in Celsius, then an if else statement will catch and write to enter Celsius again. Here's what I've tried:
When I read a value from text box I want to make sure user has entered a number(int/float/double etc.) not a string. Is there any function to check it? otherwise how do i validate it.
