I have a project with a number of forms. In Form2, I have a split container. In panel 1, I have a number of radio buttons. What I have not been able to do is use the radio buttons to select a form to be shown in the panel on the right.

I would like to create a split container with a three way split. The first split is a vertical split. The second is creating a horizontal split within panel2 of the first split container. panel1 will hold a treeview control the other two panels will hold listview controls
I think this question has been asked already in a couple different ways and I've reviewed those posts and I've tried to do what was suggested but it doesn't seem to work for me. I've tried to place a second split container inside panel2 of the first split containter. This gave me what appeared to be a three way vertical split.

What I want is to add it below the existing one.
is it possible to collapse both split container panels? the idea is that by collapsing both panels of one container, my textbox which is outwith the split containers can give the impression of being "maximised" in the form.
View 2 RepliesI have a basic form with four objects placed on it: a Menustrip(Dock = Top), a ToolStrip(Dock = Top), a SplitContainer(Dock = None) and a StatusStrip(Dock = Bottom). As it is now, the MenuStrip, ToolStrip and StatusStrip are exactly where I want them. The problem occurs when I set the SplitContainer dock property to Fill. I thought it would fill the remaining area but it fills the entire form, you can see the outline of it beneath the menu and status strips. Is there something I'm missing in another property box or is there a different way of doing this? The reason I want to set it to Fill is for autosizing when I resize the form.

View 3 RepliesI'm new at the forums but not to .net development. I'm trying to make an application, which stays above the Dektop level but ALWAYS below any opened window. This application cannot be minimized, it has to be visible as a desktop background (just for getting you the main idea). As I was reading, I found that the way to make the form not to minimize is by using the WndProc function, and intercepting the Minimize message. My question is.. which of all the available messages is the correct for this case?.
P.D.3 (And last one I hope): See, the main reason of this application, is to make some kind of an "Active Desktop" function, which is not supported by Windows XP 64-bit. As XP64 doens't come with Active Desktop to use Web Pages as Desktop backgrounds, my idea is to make an application which loads certain web page and put's it on the desktop background.
I have been placing my database fields (details view) on a form but for some reason they are all appearing as text boxes with the exception of date fields. Why are none of them showing as drop down lists?
View 1 RepliesI have been trying for ages to put an ActiveX control on a windows form for a CCTV camera I am using. I have registered the control with windows, added it as a reference to my VS2008 project and now it appears in the toolbox.When I put the ActiveX control on the form I always get an error saying "Failed to create back buffer surface" The control is added to the form however I can not get it to work and I suspect it has something to do with this error.I have an example project from the developers of the camera that does not have this problem, i.e. I can add the ActiveX control with no problems, however the program is in C++ and I am using VB.Net.Is there anything else I need to do to stop this error from occurring?I am using a CCTV camera from Zavio (F521E). The ActiveX control is called AxVideoView.ocx.

When i run this set of codes, system keep telling me that same form cannot be both mdichild and mdiparent, however, I never set my child form as a parent.
I usually use table-layout-panel container in windows form to enable formre-sizing. But I've got too many label boxes and text boxes in a form to to fit in normal resolution. So I am in need of a similar container which is bothscroll-ableandre-sizable. Can someone tell me how it can be done using table-layout-panel container. If it doesn't support that kind of things then which one does?

How do I access parent form or container's other controls?
I have the need to maintain a 4:3 aspect ratio on a Video control on a form. The forms (there could be up to 16 in a 4x4 layout) should all maintain a 4:3 aspect ratio when resized depending on clients monitor/resolution. The forms have a border and will keep them. I had a master form which has a MDI container.When I was load the master form, I will also display another form inside the MDI container.But I was fail to maximize the child form to fix the MDI container. View 3 RepliesAm devloping an application with multiple forms, which reside on top of a main form. i.e the main application window. The 'child' forms do not need to be linked in any way as they do not pass information to the parent form, as all the parent form does is act as main window.Now I would like to know what is the correct way for the 'main window' form acting as a container for the other forms? So that all the smaller secondary forms stay focused on top of the main application form, that when the main window is minimized, so these forms should do also etc..
I have read other posts and they mention, leaving all the forms standard i.e. IsMdiContainer = False and then using form.showDialog() to call the secondary forms. This did not work for me as what happens is that as soon as I give focus to the main app form, the secondary form disappears underneath.I tired making the main app form IsMdiContainer = True and when it loads calling:
frmMemberForm.MdiParent = Me
Now this works, because I can click off the form and minimize the app etc and the frmMemberForm doesn't disappear. However if i close the MemberForm and reopen it, it looses this property and once again when it looses focus, it will disappear.
I have a custom control of type MyListControl with a Property called NotifiedList. I would like that when selecting that property in the Property Grid at runtime, that a dropdown list is populated with all the instances of type MyListControl that shared the same container as the original control.

What i am trying to accomplish, is setup either an automation or select several drop downs and press save and it will save everything into the program that we don't have control over.I can find the window handle and the class for each window with spy +++ would this help me so i can atleast put text into a box? The program i am trying to place data into doesn't write to any type of database it only writes to an xml file. From there we pull data from the xml file to feed our vb.net program Where is the best place for me to start on this?

And I have removed the default name text1 the textbox using the properties drop-down menu.The code for the check box is as follows:

Discussion: It does indeed print the word "Hello" in the textbox as desired. But, it also prints the word "Hello" in the upper left corner of the form. I don't want the word "Hello" anywhere on the form other than the textbox. My question is "How do I keep the computer from generating text on the form outside of the text box.I have a Satellite Toshiba Lap Top M35-S3592, use XP Professional and the Visual Basic Version is VB6.
