View 3 Repliesi have this program i need to make, where it runs a bat file. i got that far, so when i click the button it opens the bat. but 3 problems i encountered i have been trying to resolve for a few days now, the problem is that i need to get the output of the .bat and display it in a textbox, i got that, but it only displays the first and least line... then i need to run the .bat in the background. so you don't see the window.then i also need to be able to hit a second button to close it. the bat is a constant update, lets just say it reads a number then 5 seconds later adds 1 to that number and displays it again. and does this over and over till you close it. that would be a simple description of this
Process p = new Process();
p.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = false;
p.StartInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = true;
p.StartInfo.FileName = "C:\Users/jwoow/Desktop/Server/run.bat";
p.Start();

I have an application that continously records audio for several hours. I want to be able to listen to recorded material but not necessarily in real time. I have tried to just copy the file being recorded to a new file with overwrite and the copy obviously gets done (filesize changes) but when I try to listen to the copied file my player just 'blinks' and nothing more happens. If I however close the recording, the copy also gets playable. My idea is that copying a file in use just creates another file in use. If this is the case how can I close the copied file?
View 1 RepliesBTW this issue occurs in any MS office program when the VB.Net (or even VBA) is processing information.Example: In Excel, a worksheet is displayed on the screen. I start either, a VB.Net or VBA procedure and within 30 seconds the Excel worksheet (previously displayed) blanks out. In both VB.Net and VBA,ScreenUpdating = False. My expectation is that the previously displayed screen would stay static as if I left my desk to get a cup of coffee; came back and the same ole Excel worksheet was still there?Of course, setting VBA Screen Updating = False accomplishes two goals: 1) speeds up processing and 2) saves the user from seeing unnecessary "garbage-processing" steps.Why does VBA or VB.Net ScreenUpdating = False not freeze the screen at the time of its invoking?
View 11 RepliesI have 1000 frames and id like to create an application that will use all those frames and create a video file. I dont care about the file format(.wmv/.avi/...). Google isnt really showing any good results. Just this: [URL] The solution is to make PictureBox and quick load the pictures and will look like Video. I need it as a video file. Where can i look? is there a built-in function in VB.Net?
On the other hand it doesnt make sence at all: id like to create an application that will use all those frames and create a video file. What will be the time difference between two frames? What about the quality? ...
I currently send a live video mix to a output screen (a form on a particular screen).Consider it like a really advanced version of PowerPoint. I call it a video control room for the pc. I want to take 30 frames a second from a screen (of my choice, I allow multiple screens) and the audio from the computer (stereo) set, save it to a hard disks. How do I do that? I know I can draw the image of the interface using the RenderTargetBitmap class, but How do I put those images (as frames) in an AVI file or push it to a video server? An SDK? or a Code Example to point me in the right direction, would be nice! I also want to capture the sound of the current Stereo mix, or microphone (as determined by the user).
View 1 RepliesI want to make a screen recording program and I want to be able to add a picture to the video file every so often and the picture will be a frame. I already know how to capture the screen, so all I need to know how to do is capture a video of the screen.
View 6 RepliesI am using IHTMLElementrender.DrawToDC but when sending to a screen DC, the image is cropped by about 10%. The image is large enough and I can draw using VB Line, Print or API etc, to the area that is cropped, so it isn't the DC at fault.On any printer device it works exactly as expected. I believe this is a bug, but where can I go to report it?

View 15 RepliesI am developing and application for playing back recorded clips from dvr. There will be 10 persons reviewing the recorded clips all the time. When the person want to review a particular camera recorded clip, he will send a command through COM to my application. Then my application will read the data from COM and connect to dvr and send data to the dvr. If only 1 person is doing the operation my application works fine. If 10 persons continuously working, then my application is getting very slow and the response time back to the person is high which will make the person frustrated to use the software.
Now, when ever I receive data from COM I'm adding into arraylist and I'm processing one by one. I've 10 forms in my application and when ever I receive data from person1 I'll send that data to form1 and person2's data will be send to form2 and so on for processing. What could be the better way to write my application in order to make the response time to the user faster so that, they'll get the recorded clips faster?
Basically, I am making a booking system. On one of the forms, you can: Add, Edit and Delete a record by using the selected index. I can do the Add and Edit part fine but some problems are occuring when I try to delete it. What I'm trying to do when deleting is, copy all the records except the selected one and then copy it back into the original file again.

I had the provider=microsoft.jet.oledb.4.0, but I changed it since I thought this was the one to use.

I need to write data to a file, preferably in binary format, but I am unaccustomed with the concept. Where's the easiest place to get the basics? I could come here with a specific need, but I'm at the point right now where I am more willing to work within the confines of keeping it simple.
Here's what I know:
1. how to open a new file
2. how to specify the record length
3. how to close the file
Some specific questions:
Does the record length have to be constant throughout the file?
Can I read the nth record without reading the whole file?

View 2 RepliesI have a screencasting program where it takes 10 screenshots every second and saves it to a temporary directory then through ffmpeg the series of images are compiled into a video format. My problem is that due to the computers processing power or the size of each screenshot and its quality it sometimes takes longer than 100 Milliseconds to create one causing the whole video to be off balance. How can I ensure 100% that 10 Images will be stored?
