I am retrieving data from a csv/txt file using oledb driver
ConnString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OleDb.4.0; Data Source = " & System.IO.Path.GetDirectoryName(strFileName) & "; Extended Properties = ""Text;HDR=YES;FMT=Delimited"""
strQuery = "SELECT * FROM [" & System.IO.Path.GetFileName(strFileName) & "]"
In the last line I am getting following error if the filename is large
Is not a valid name. Make sure that it does not include invalid characters or punctuation and that it is not too long.
My question -
Is there any limit to filename or the select query or there is some pattern which I need to follow?

I have an asp.net/vb file that receives data and processes it via a stored procedure. The code had the width set to 2 for the year's varchar, so it was chopped, leaving only the first two digits to get inserted into the db.Is this info possibly retrievable from a system/IIS log file or is it lost forever?

I am wanting to retrieve all the files in some directories. Here is my original code:
Private Function Search(path As String, Recursive As Boolean) As Boolean
Dim dirInfo As New IO.DirectoryInfo(path)
Dim fileObject As FileSystemInfo
If Recursive = True Then
For Each fileObject In dirInfo.GetFileSystemInfos()
[Code] .....
This code works well, yet it returns some directories and I am wanting to only return files. I tried this code:
Private Sub Search(ByVal path As String, ByVal Recursive As Boolean)
if not Directory.Exists(path) then Exit Sub
Dim initDirInfo As New DirectoryInfo(path)
For Each oFileInfo In initDirInfo.GetFiles
[Code] .....
However, I get the following error:
Access to the path 'C:UsersSimonAppDataLocalApplication Data' is denied.
I have added this module to get it working:
Imports System.Security.Principal
Module VistaSecurity
'Declare API
[Code] .....

I know how to get a list of files in a local Windows machine's specific directory:
Dim dirInfo As DirectoryInfo = New DirectoryInfo("C:Temp")
Dim fileListing() As FileInfo = dirInfo.GetFiles()
But how do I use this class for a mainframe system where user ID, password and 'change directory' command are needed?
When I attempt to just access the server without credentials and just do the Windows version and use the syntax "\server_nameAUTO:RPTS.", where 'AUTO:RPTS.' is the mainframe directory name I get the following error: "The given path's format is not supported."
When I just use '\server_name' I get: "The UNC path should be of the form \servershare."

I've looked at the headers for several .lit files and the author and title are easily visible when viewed with a hex viewer, my problem is that they appear to move (relatively), suggesting that the header information is pushing them around.
I've tried to work backwards from their current location and determine what links to what but to no avail. I realize that the ereader format is 1) proprietary 2) locked but wonder if anyone who has some experince could point me to the structure or possibly show me the links from the header to the author / title fields.

I have a connection string in my database which I read throughout my VB .Net application. I have another string which is NOT a connection string though. It instead has information about a domain on LDAP. So LDAP string just needs to be stored in the web.config as a string, and also to be retrieved as a string.
