I am using an ajax calendar extender I want to save the records to a gridview on the selected date but i am getting default date like '1900-01-01'.
How to save the date as i am selecting the date in Calender Extender.
I am trying to update a SQL Server database Date field.When the user enters the date they enter 02 Oct 2010.When I pick up the DateTimePicker.Value it is 10/02/2010 00:00:00. I need to get the value to read 02/10/2010 00:00:00 How do I get the value to be in this format?

I have no problem substracting the daydiff in numbers of days. The problem I have is that I need the DateTimePicker to tell me how many of those days are weekends (friday, saturday) and how many are weekdays.

Now what I want to do is on a button click, I want to search the database for a date range, lets say September/01/2010 thru September/30/2010. Then I want to pull all of the Pprice values and add them together to come up with an inventory parts cost for the month.
Ive created one database Sql Server Compact Edition 2005, with one table ("Cliente") I know that I can created my database good, but i have a problem saving information since three textbox, in my table(With columns "Nombre" "Apellido" "Cliente". In my form there is a button save ("Guardar"). When I do click in my button appear the next message : "The column cannot contain null values. [ Column name = Nombre,Table name = Cliente ] " and happen the same with apellido and Id_Cliente. And this happen becouse my code cant save the information....

I am trying to save a date to a mysql database and usually the only format permited to be saved in the table is YYYY-MM-DD
On the form the datetime picker is formated like this MM-DD-YYYY
The thing is i am using dataset created by wizard to save the data, what should i do to be able to format this for save and read because it is giving me errors.

View 2 RepliesIm trying to use DateTimePicker function and save the date to an access database. Everything is working somewhat how I want it to but not 100% yet. Here is my problem. When the program is running if I click on the datetimepicker and select a date and click my save button the date IS saved to my access database as it should.
but if i run the program and don't ever click on the datetimepicker (because it is already on the correct current date) and click my save button the date doesn't get saved to the access database. The closest I have gotten was to enable the ShowCheckBox option, If i run the program this way and select the check box but dont select a date then it will save the date to my db.
But I really need it to be able to save the date to the db without the user ever clicking on the datetimepicker. Is it just a simple line I'm missing? Im pretty new to this but Ill try to explain anything the best I can if you have any further questions for me.

I am wanting to add a date to a database if a checkbox is checked when clicking the save button on the DataBindingNavigator. If it is unchecked I want it to add nothing to the database but if there is something there it clears it. Why can't you add a blank value to a database? I'm stuck on how I can accomplish this. I do have Visual VB.NET 2008 Express installed, SQL Server 2005 express installed, and I do know how to start a brand new project in VB.NET, and then add the database to the solution explorer, modify the tables/fields, etc. I know how to create a WinForm, add some controls (and name them and whatnot).....
So in MS Access I know how to use VB in the Code-Behind-Form to use the form in an unbound manner, and insert data into the tables via Visual Basic with SQL statements. I am looking to be able to begin the same sort of thing here, because I guess I have to start somewhere?

I want to retrieve the selected items in a listbox, save them to a collection, and then use that collection later. I thought that was simple enough, but when I clear the selected items in the listbox, my collections (items, indices) change. I found this out by stepping through the code.
Basically what I'm wanting to do is move items in the listbox up or down (up in this case), and still keep them selected.

View 5 RepliesI have a form that collects user parameters to print a report. There are two DateTimePickers to let the user select a date range for the report. The selection of a date range is optional so I set the From picker to a date before any data could be present. If the user wants to select a date range, the from field is set to a very old date so it takes a long time to get to any current dates. Whe I'd like to do is when the user drops down the picker, reset the date to today and let the user scroll from there.I tried the dropdown even in the picker, but the new date doesn't get set until the user has already selected a date. Any suggestions on how to get this type of UI behavior? Also any better suggestions to streamline the process?The main objective it to collect from and to dates from the user is they want to select them and collect wide ranging dates if the user doesn't enter any.

I have developed a VB.NET program using a strongly typed dataset. This dataset has its connection to a SQL Server 2008 R2. The software should now be additionally used offline. The database should be exported to a *.sdf database. If no connection to the SQL server is produced, the software have to try to connect to the *.sdf database.I would like to achieve:
1. Export the data in the SQL Server 2008 R2 database to a local *.sdf file.
2. This *.sdf file has to work as an alternate connection string in the strongly typed dataset.

View 9 RepliesI am making some kind of calendar where I can add tasks, so I can easily organise my tasks. For it to complete, I have 3 things I can't figure out how to do it:
1. When I launch the program, I want the items in my listbox to be sorted alphabeticly.
2. I want to save the items in the listbox, so if I close the program and reopen it the items are still saved in the listbox.
3. The items in the listbox all start with a date, fe. "13-4" for today. If that date already passed I want that item to be deleted.
Lets say i had a label with 9/6/2010 11:59:99 that was selected from the month calendar control, is there anyway to determine how many days are from the present days date to the selected end date?
so 9/4 to 9/6 = 2 days
The "2" days is the value im seeking
