System Monitoring Tool - Changing Values Of CPU Usage Along Time?
Apr 6, 2009
I am making my project for this semester. I am making "System monitoring Tool" so i have make a GUI and also get the all parameters but one thing missing I have tried to find from different places but not found that is the "continues line" that represents the changing values of CPU usage along time. same like "windows task manager" shows.

Im trying to monitor the battery of notebooks to diagnose whether there charging/discharging correctly or not for my work. I can get the basic info using SystemInformation.PowerStatus but i want to be able to see the slope or decline of the charging via a graph. Is this possible? i was playing with the system monitor control and thats the kind of output im trying to get. A simple line graph would be perfect....passmarks battery test is a example of what im going for
I want to make CPU and RAM Monitoring tool in Vb. But I have no idea and knowledge about this.I can make a GUI for this but I don't know how to implement this.If you have some experience please tell me what references I have to use and what are the functions which will give current status of CPU and RAM. and also guide me how to present this information in the form of continuous graph and progress bar.I shall be thank full to all participants. If you have no experience please refer me some expert sites and groups on internet. I will try to contact them.
I am making a file monitoring tool, what's the best approach in doing that and it returned that I should use filesystemwatcher, others suggested a polling program.
Here's my the current scenario:
My server path (local): C:FilServer
List of folder to monitor for created event: C:FilServerAB_Incoming - zip files C:FilServerAC_Incoming - xml and tif files
List of folder to monito for deleted event: C:FilServerAB_Outgoing - zip files C:FilServerAC_Outgoing - xml and tif files
When the folder raises event, the detected file will be following this routine:
Move the file to d:ackup and copy to e:source[date][time] and write sumary log.
I have been dabbling in VB before and i played around wiht linq to sql back then but im wondering what i should go with here.I need to have a list of people.. They should all have their own id nr.
The people in the list are supposed to keep a record of values changing over time with a datetime stamp. (In my case its numbers from a test outcome of blood)You have to be able to add people and delete people. All records will be deleted too.A Chart will read information from the records and display changes over time in chart.I was thinking of doing it with linq to sql and i was kinda aiming at Creating datatables with id names from the script
Havent found a way of creating datatables from a script though..I was hoping for a solution like that.. And i was hoping id be able to search databasetable names.
I am converting an application to work with SQL.I need the application to monitor a specific table, so it can instantly pick up on changes. The sql server database is on the same machine. The table it needs to monitor is called MaintenanceRecords and it is inserted into via web service.I need to display a message in my VB project when an insert occurs in MaintenanceRecords table.
I am developing an application about a print queue monitoring. I found this code:
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load localPrintServer2 = New LocalPrintServer() defaultPrintQueue2 = LocalPrintServer.GetDefaultPrintQueue() ht1 = New Hashtable ht2 = New Hashtable Timer1.Enabled = True Timer1.Interval = 50 [Code] .....
I have sent print but it never goes inside the loop. There is nothing shows in the Textbox as well. For Each job As PrintSystemJobInfo In jobs. Is there any way to find out which system it is coming from because I have to build a system with the number of prints each user in the system prints and to which printer.
I have coded up a service, and I would like it to monitor when a user logon to the system fails. Is there an event I can handle for this? Or, a message that is broadcast? Or, is it possible to get the failed logon counter for the local system?
im trying to make an attendance monitoring system using vb.net 2005. i have a little experienced programming, i used vb6. But vb.net is much more different in vb6 because of its codes. my problem is that in dtpicker, it do not accept any value that came from a textbox.
my code is like this
dtpicker1.value = textbox1.text
but an error existed..then i coded like this hoping that it will work
I would to create an application that will allow me to monitoring in real-time the screen on a remote computer, I dont want to keylog, or control mouse,ot keyboard, just watch what they do at real-time.
I am currently running through a loop with 20 threads. These loops contain a series of 3 HTTPWebRequests (relatively CPU intensive). At the beginning, CPU usage never spiked above 10%. After about 7 hours of run time, CPU is spiking up to over 40%. I believe that this will eventually lead to the program crashing (it has before in less time, I modified some things and it seems to be running longer). What kind of intense CPU spikes are associated with threading? More importantly, how can the duration of runtime affect CPU usage by so much?
In visual basic is there a way to check System Temputures (Like CPU HD etc.) that the OS can read or any way to check CPU / RAM / Network usage in VB without using Task Manager? Post any links or stuff to search for bellow.
Im trying to show a tooltip when it reaches a certain time, or when my Datetimepicker matches the system clock. My program iwll bem inimized and the timer will be running while the application is in the notification area, Then of course when it reaches the time, The ballon pops up saying "Your break is getting close" but everytime I close my application the Notification pops up instantly.
Public Class Form1 Dim UpTimeStr As String Dim dtpStr(3) As String
I haven't been doing a programming for awhile now. But, I was a VB programmer before. I will be creating a tool to log issues encountered by the users of our system. It will be a web based. I'm planning to create it in VB.Net. Any resources that you could share is greatly appreciated. I'm looking for a ready program that I could start with to speed up my programming.
I'm trying to create a toolstrip using the system render mode, but the split button control doesn't look right in Windows 7 It's almost like the drop down button is offset to the right by 1 pixel, or part of the border is missing.
If i wanted to crop an image in VB.net, how would I go about doing it? I am trying to let the user drag out the box they want (system.drawing.rectangle), and it will automatically remove the edges surrounding the box.
My first problem is primarily the fact that I cannot make the system.drawing.rectangle visible. It is not displaying at all, I am setting its location and height programmatically, but nothing is showing up. I know there is probably something fairly obvious I am missing...but I cannot seem to find it.
My larger issue, however, lies with the cropping itself. I cannot find any crop methods, at all. Is there a hidden one I am missing? Or must I code it myself? How would I go about doing this? It ought to be able to output to a bitmap image object.
i have developed an application using OPEN XML SDK Tool 2.0 which generates Excel file. I have Data table of 100000 row and 30 columns and i want to generate excel file with these 100000 rows and 30 columns but it takes about 2 minutes of time to generate excel file. What can i do to reduce this time.
The idea with this form is to add the futures which is calculated when the button is pushed but I need the list to update every time and show the values each time to which the previous value is added to the new calculation, e.g. of what it should look like in listbox:
Year 1: $1,290.93 Year 2: $2,724.32 Year 3: $4,350.76 etc....
I have been working on this a while and I am at a standstill, I was given a function to clear the form everytime it calculates but I don't know how to implement it, I am new to VB. Here is what I have so far:
Public Class frmFutureValue Private Sub btnCalculate_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, _ ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnCalculate.Click
I used .NET Framework 1.1 in C/S project before. Now I have updated the project to use .NET Framework 3.5 without modifying source code, but I have found that : the Remoted DateTime values can not be converted to the equivalent local time of a remote computer that is in a different time zone. In .NET Framework 1.1, the DateTime values can be converted automatically.
Basically i'm trying making a task manager program for myself. I want to know how I can display a message box and or play a sound when system time = time displayed in listview. I have used a dropdown box for the user to select which option they would like to select - sound or message box to popup. The data for the task will be stored in a listview box. I want it so that when the date and the time is = to the date and time set for the reminder the action will follow. Here is my code so far:
Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click Dim notext As String = "" If TextBox1.Text = notext Then[code]....
to trace the days of a program installed in user's computer. However, the user can changes the system time of his computer to a advancing date. How can I get a SNTP time from internet to solve this problem?
When I run my app at first its keeps time accurately for the first minute or so there after it starts loosing seconds, and by the end of the day its minutes behind.I've created a class called ServerTimeTimer that has a timers.timer object that elapses every second and adds a second to a dateTime variable, and a property to retrieve the date time.[code]
The Now() function in VB.NET returns date and time which is different from the system time that I see on the right-bottom on the notification bar. It is 15 hours slower than the system time. Has anyone ever met this problem? I'm using .NET 2.0.
i have a data set on the data set many data adapters .i add a data adapter in the data set the designer was automatically delete then lot of error was coming and i search in google and i go this method and i do that right click the data set and "Run Custom tool" on that time the designer will automatically created. but when i do that a error was coming "The custom tool 'MSDataSetGenerator' failed. Exception of type 'System.Data.Design.InternalException' was thrown."
I am attempting to change an image at run time but continue to get an error stating, "File not found, Exception was unhandled. I am assuming the error is with the file path but I have not been able to find a working variation.
Below is the code I believe would be correct but I continue to get the error. If working properly, the program would change the text and picture based on user input.
Private Sub btnInfo_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnInfo.Click Dim strFriendName As String
