i have wanted to create a TCP/IP Lan chat program in visual studio 2005. i have already created an interface for it but no codes yet. Attached are images of the client and the server.

I just want to creating each server for the clients to entered the chat room with each different server, e.g: client 1 and client 2 entered chat server 1 (just a name of a room), client 3 and client 4 entered chat server 2 and so on. View 5 RepliesI recently got into this article. It makes a chat server and people can connect to it like an AIM. The problem how would I disconnect from the server from the client. Because if I close the client application when its connected to the server it will crash the server as well. Please let me know if anyone has any solutions.

Now im talking the server, after the client clicks disconnect or closes by task manager, looses connection, etc the server crashes and gives me.

Some people say Winsock is the way to go and others say TCP/IP is the way to go. I have little to no experience in either one of them. I have tried adding clientSocket.Close() in various places throughout the client and server with no luck. Of course I have to provide functionality for each of the controls such as if he drags a button on to the form, he should be able to specify what action it has to perfom when clicked when the application is put into run mode. * My application should have two modes: a DESIGN MODE, where user can drag, drop controls and specify what they should do when put into RUN MODE. This is quite similar to MS Visual Studio designer.

problem use Visual Studio 2005,2008 with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 , when open vb.net choose : add new data source and choose database and add connection when choose Microsoft SQL Server (SqlClient) show error this version not supported

I already compiled everything and it's no error. What makes the browser didn't send me the pdf result? I wonder if i forgotten something?
