I have 20 Textboxes with several values. I want to update a table in my database with these values. I have made a binding to the database for each box but when I run the command
Me.TableAdapterManager.UpdateAll(Me.VBTestDatabaseDataSet)
it updates the textboxes with the value wich allready are in the database and not the other way around. I want to replace the data in the DB with the new values in the textboxes
[code]In the above code as the file path is mentioned it can be declared as an environmental variable as %TEMP%Abc.exe.Because in code the path is called hardcoded path means we are giving the path to look for the exe in that folder but it should not happen,Because in each and every machine %TEMP% value varies.So I just want to know how to use that environment variable and call Abc.exe like [code]By googling I got to know the function we have to use is GetEnvironmentVariable() .

I'm using Visual Studio 2005, Version 2. I am programming a Windows Application in VB.NET.I have added the dataset, so I have a binding source and a table adapter. I have set the Data Tag of each textbox I need to use to the corresponding column name in the table. So for example, I have an Emergency Call ID textbox and I have set its data tag to EmergencyCallID which is in the database. Not sure if this is necessary though. I have no idea how to edit and update the database using textboxes.

The 3rd textbox is defined in the table as the product of textbox (really the column) 1 and 2. The problem is when I save after changing textbox 1 or 2, 3 does not update reflecting the new product. I have a different form using a different dataset that does a similar setup correctly. What could be the difference between the 2 forms or tables or dataset that I could look for?

I can get this to work no problem on another thread with the same class, and on the same thread in another class. but not on another thread on another class. my code looks like this, when it is run to produces no errors but does not add the test to the text box, what is wierd is i had made some changes to the program to add multiplelines to consolebox.text and then checked console.text from form2 and it produces the values i added but those arent reflected inside in the consolebox for some reason.

This is a learning exercise for me as I am coming back from not programming for almost 10 years, and know there are lots of other ways to manage this data, but I'm just trying to understand different aspects of ADO.net a little better.
