when i put, for example, a picturebox in form and code some events. then i want delete that picturebox. well the code stills there. imagine that i use another picturebox i use the same name. now if i double click on these picturebox, the code editor recreates a new subs. can i disable these situation?
View 6 Repliesi have several forms in my solution that have listview controls and each of those listview controls uses the ListViewColumnSorter class that's provided on MSDN. This class requires a few lines of code in the Form_InitializeComponent Method of the Designer.Problem is, each time something on the form is changed, even if it's just a property of one of the controls, the designer deletes the code that I have for the listviews and I have to go back in and add it again.
View 4 RepliesI just cannot work this out so is it different in C# for VB in VS. Lets say you have added a control (does not matter what control) to a form, go to the 'View Code' of the form. In VB at the top of the source window below the Tabs of your project you see on the left a Class Name combobox (Type in C#) in VB you can select the control you just added, now in the right Members Name combobox (Members in C#) in vb i can select a member I want to add lets say Click event, this will be added to the project but in C# it just cannot be done?
The reason for this is that I have a Usercontrol that Shadows/New delegate thingy in C# TextChanged event I can easily Select this member in VB but not in C# do I have to add the event manually e.g. [Code] In VB I get a Handles event, Any ideas?

However, the Report a Bug function does not work, which in itself is a major bug.While I am typing in the code editor, these annoying popups keep popping up and completely blocking my view of the code. I have no idea what these popups are showing and do not need them. I have not been able to find any way of turning them off. I consider this another major bug.
View 7 RepliesI don't think the problem lies within the codes but..The last thing I did was use datediff.. and show the result on a label.. and when I wasn't satisfied with the result I changed a few lines, and I noticed it was still the same whenever I run it.I've tried changing/deleting the codes to my forms but whenever I run the program, it still works. I even tried deleting the form and it still works.

View 3 RepliesI am trying to create and remove a series of controls programatically. The user will have a numeric updown to pick a number. The program will then create a bunch of duplicate controls based on whatever number they pick on the fly.

The creation part works just fine.As the number is toggled upward a new label is created.However whenever I remove labels it acts very strangely.The first time I bring it down it works just fine. Then the next 3 do nothing but the 4th removes another line.I can also toggle back and forth and it will eventually remove the label. So for example.
Starts with 1 selected - 1 label visible (1)
Change to 2 - 2 labels visible (1-2)
Change to 3 - 3 labels visible (1-3)[code]....
If I toggle back and forth between 2 and 3 eventually label 4 will go away.I want only 1- my numeric up down value to be displayed and have everything else after that removed.
I am using Visual Basic 2010 Express. I have a form with some text boxes on it. There was some code on that form which was giving errors. So I deleted the whole code. Now the problem is, I cannot see the form Design mode button to view it in design mode. But when I hit F5, I can see all the text boxes (in Run mode). I want to add some more controls on form. How to resolve this problem?

I mean cursor moves to the left side of rtb. In code the value of PFM_ALIGNMENT is set to 8. View 2 RepliesWondering if it is possible. It works on the idea that all files share common code. The program would ideally analyse the source file and compare it to the reference files. It would then find common parts of the code and write it to a rebuild file. At the end the rebuild file and the reference files would then be able to rebuild the source file without it being present.
For Example.
source file code = xxyyzyzyxw
ref file 1 = xyxxzyzxwyy
ref file 2 = zxxwyzzywxx
The program would then analyse these files and make a rebuild file like the following
source(0,1) = ref1(2,3)
source(2,3) = ref1(10,11)
source(4,7) = ref2(5,6) + ref2(5,6)
source(8,9) = ref2(2,3)
Thus you would be able to build the source file using these instructions and the reference files.

but if the checkbox is not checked then i want it to wait until it has copied the file before deleting it because at the moment it deletes it quicker than it copies it and the file could be different size everytime so i cant just put a simple timer of say for example 5 seconds in.

this code was not done by me originally and there are some thigns here i dont quite understand i have altered it a bit from my coworkers code to suit my data and it works. but too slow. and when i have 4000+kb excel files it might freeze altogether. ( I have checked tho that when and after this transposer runs it will still be within the excel row limit, i had done calculations before and made a macro to automatically split excel files based on number of columns and rows to make sure this is so ). This code seems to start out fast then goes slower the longer it runs. at least this is what it seems liek to me.

I recently found this code (provided for third party use on another VB site), however,ll of my attempts to insert it into a class library have failed.I open a new class library and past the code in, and immediately get several errors pertaining to how certain objects can't be found. I find it it is crucial to use this code, unless someone can suggest to me another example of existing code that will do the same thing: make a restricted textbox who imputs can be restricted, that can handle pasting, shortcuts, text property setting, and script-entered text.
