Im having a problem with a datagridview which is saved on a UserControl which is then loaded into a SplitContainer. The problem is that the forms load fine but the datagridview doesn't populate on load. It will populate however when I search for results using the toolstrip.

It divided my form into two parts, which I wanted. On the left side panel there are buttons, and when I click on a button I would want to display another form inside the other part of the SplitContainer which is Panel2.

I have a SplitContainer on a form that has 2 panels. The top panel has a FlowPanelLayout control docked in it and the bottom panel has a DataGridView docked in it. I want the top panel to be collapsed when the form is first shown. As the user adds controls to the FlowPanel I want to grow the top panel just enough to see the controls and visa versa. When the user removes controls from the FlowPanel I want to shrink the top panel. If no controls exist I want the top panel to collapse again.
Can I do this by changing properties of all the controls at design time, because I can't figure out the right combination to make it work? Or do I have to do this programmatically?
me if it's possible to have a control (e.g. a picturebox) in one panel of the splitcontainer control, and then be able to drag the control in runtime to the other panel?

I have all the Customer table data on 1 panel control (pnlCustomer) that has textbox and datagridview controls. The visible property is set to True because this is the first UI that I want to appear when the form loads Next I created another panel for the Inventory data (pnlInventory) and I added contols to that in detail and datagrid views. I placed the Inventory panel directly on top of the Customer panel. The visible properly is set to False My intentions are that when the employee selects the Inventory button that the Customer panel will hide() and the Inventory panel will show().
I have tried a number of things but they do not work. What happens is that when the Inventory button is selected the Customer panel and all it's controls will actually hide but the Inventory panel will not appear. If it is opening, then there are no controls visible...and I checked to make sure that the property of all controls in the Inventory panel are set to Visible = true

I'm trying to add a DataGridView to a Split Container Panel. I am able to add the control, but it just places it on top of the old one.
What I want is to add it below the existing one.
I have a DataGridView control in a form, and as of a day ago, when I click on the control, I get *no* properties listed in the Properties pane of the IDE. The properties pane is totally blank. Neither properties nor events are visible. I have tried everything. Prior to this, the properties and events displayed normally.Other controls' properties are displayed when I click on them, but not the DataGridView control. If, after clicking on my DataGridView control, I use the combo-box on the Properties pane to look at any other control's properties, they come right up. If I then select my control's name (DataGridView1) in the Properties pane combo-box, the IDE crashes completely and I have to restart.

I would like to resize a panel at runtime using a mouse.I only need Vertical resizing.So, I have panel1 and docked a label to the bottom of the panel, this will be the drag bar.Now I'm thinking I need to use the mousedown event and capture the Y coordinates of the mouse? On Mouse up set my panel height to those new coordinates?Also, I'm pretty sure my panel won't redraw itself when this is going on. Should I set the panel height while I'm dragging?

When a panel's AutoScroll is set True then it will add scrollbars for navigation of the entire size of its content. What I want is to be able to set the vertical scrollbar to go to top or zero so its contents top controls will be viewable.

View 10 RepliesI created a custom control. I put it on a form with Dock = Top. I place a standard Windows Panel below it and set it's Dock = Fill. I would expect the top of the Panel to bump up against the bottom of the custom control, but instead, it goes underneath it and jumps all the way to the top of the form. This behavior does not seem to exist if I place two Panels on the form and set one to top and the other to fill. The second one bumps up against the bottom of the first one, as I would expect. But my custom control (from UserControl) does not seem to work this way. Do I have to set something special on my control?

I'm creating a usercontrol with a splitcontainer. I can reposition the split when running, but when designing on a form I can't adjust the position graphically, I can only do it by typing a new SplitterDistance. Is there a way to get a grip on that position at design time?
