i have 3 textboxes that they have the first the number 1 the second the number 2 and the third number 3 when i click the button the label show the addition 1+2+3=6 i want the third textbox with the help of a new button not to participate in the addition and the label to show 3 like this 1+2=3 and with the click of the button again to participate and the label will show again 6 like this 1+2+3=6

When I try to test this the .ExecuteNonQuery() becomes highlighted and says the given type name is unrecognized. My table is setup as table1 and the only 2 columns are datetime and temperature. I want the label text to go to temperature and I would like somehow the time the temperature was taken to go into the datetime field. I created a form with 2 labels 2 textboxes and a button. Basically it is a login from. When I launch the form it shows the blinking cursor in the 1st textbox(this is ok) but when i try to type nothing happens. Once i click the form(not the textbox-textbox works too but wanted to note it was the form) it works. I have tried doing textbox1.focus(). I have tried doing the form.focus(). Neither were successful. It may have nothing to do with focus but it seems to be that to me.

Now I am trying to look at it logically do I put the same text in both textbox properties and write code that says if it is visible in one it cant be in the other or declare the text in the code, either way I am a bit stumped, but feel if a stick with it it will click and i will be writing my own code in no time.
View 8 RepliesI am trying to save new data every time and then I have to edit it or load it. here is a screenshot you might get some idea by looking at this:
First I will input data (in all textboxes) using create button which will be stored then If I want to edit any thing I will input only the part number and press search. the stored data will come up. I will edit it and update it (Load button is update). Now I can save it in txt file and load it using regex but the problem is edit. I can not edit. If i create a database I cannot save 100 parts (or may be more) in one database so it might create too many db files. So is there any other option I can save parts detail then load it and edit it without create so many dbs?
I am confused about how to make a button able to clear the text in all textboxes. I know in c# I can just say textbox1.Clear(); but this won't work in this case.

I have to make a calculator for school but I'm in a big dilemma. :( The thing is, I have this calculator with three textboxes and of course digits and operators. There's two input textboxes, txtInput1 and txtInput2 and then there's the buttons from btnZero to btnNine. My operator buttons automatically do the calculation and the output comes in txtDisplay which is disabled (so that you can't write in it).
And the problem is here, I want my btnZero to btnNine move their textvalue to my txtInput1 and txtInput2 as long as they are selected (so the cursor is blinking in it). Now I use "txtInput1 = txtInput1.text & btnZero.text" sure that works, but only for one txtInput. If I can't solve this I'd have to make all the buttons twice. ;( (Edit: If I press my operator button then "txtDisplay.text = (txtInput1 "operator" txtInput2)")

Basically I have an application that has 2 textboxes and a button. What I am trying to do is when the button is clicked, it takes an entered string from box one (which is validated to only accept numbers) adds 235 to it then converts it to hex and finally reverse the string and sets textbox two equal to that value. Note that the final string has to be eight digits so the string may needed to be padded with zeros before the string is reversed. With that said how could I go about doing this? Also I do plan to add 2 more textboxes and another button to undo this process but I am thinking if I can figure out do it one way writing the code to undo the process shouldn't be too hard.

View 8 RepliesI was looking for some better way of coding to populate all text boxes and make them visible once a button is clicked. I have a letter like format on a page with labels displaying address, name etc and it was recommended that on this page some of the information should be able to be edited. The idea I had was to keep the labels displaying the information but then when the edit details button is clicked the labels disappear, text boxes will appear and be populated with the same text as the label to allow the user to edit the details.
I seem to repeating lines of code but changing one thing each time on page load
