Jul 26, 2011I have something strange occuring. The following code works 100% when run in VB2008 Express.When compiled and run onthe same system, it generates the above message.The codebasically opens a Access DB and loops thru the db There is a progress bar (also tried a simplelabel) to display progress using AbsolutePosition.

Nov 20, 2010i try to resize the picturebox according to the image size.for example if the image width is more than 500 then change the sizemode to stretch and then resize the width to 500.i am using a timer for doing this but i think it's unnecessary and stupid. and also it doesn't work well.

Now, I want to convert my existing DB connection strings from ADODB to ADO.NET so that I dont have to use MS Access on every client which runs this app. Currently the VB app looks up into an Access db to get the server ip, username, password etc. I aim to hardcode these values so that I wouldn't need the Access db anymore. Any inputs on how this could be done?

Sep 2, 2010I am having problem with Visual Studio 2008.... When i add the Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.5 Library from COM References, and just run the blank form, it runs perfectly.... But whenever i declare anything related to ADODB like dim con as new ADODB.Connection, then after that it gives me error and doesnt run the project. A first chance exception of type 'System.IO.FileNotFoundException' occurred in mscorlib.dll. After that if i comment that like (declaration), then error goes........ I tried uninstalling each and every component and VS as well but the error doesnt goes....i am using Windows 7 x64. The same is working in Windows XP x86 in my virtual machine..... as i am not able to start my project

Aug 21, 2009I have a form that works on my local Machine I created into. I have Office 2007 on this machine. I created the Form with the Excel 12 Reference. I move the Entire conetence of the Project folder to my work computer. Which has Office 2003. Do I need to recreate the form with the Excel 11 reference. I could not get the form to work on work computer. IT has a com error. I am acessing the EXE for the debug folder w/in the Bin Folder.

VS 2010 SQL Query Will Not Work In Startup Event
Dec 16, 2011I'm checking if the application needs to update before the user starts the software. But, they have to enter a few items of data and then press enter. When they do, if an update is available, the application closes, my update app runs and then the new version is opened. I want to just update when the application is loading, so they don't have to waste time entering data if the application is just going to close anyway. But when I run the block of code to check for updates, I get an SqlException.

Jul 2, 2010In Key Press Event i have put the logic of search in textbox, when i press enter key it will take the values from textbox and brings the data in DataGrid.In another event of GotFocus there is an logic of autocompletestring collection from Table. If i type a in that textbox it will shows all the suggested string in that.
If i comment the logic of GotFocus Event for textbox for autocomplete suggestion then only then Key Press events work else its not working. I dont know why its happening.

I haven't gotten into any problems so far but my question to you are the following1) Is it possible for me to make an event/action that will allow it to work with the script that is php? VS 2008 Windows Service Event Log In The OnStart Event
Aug 26, 2010I have created a simple framework for a Windows service in VB.NET Express 2008. It enables a timer which then writes to the event log every 6 seconds until the service is stopped. This works fine. I adapted that framework into something further. It is using Windows sockets. Well, I haven't finished that part yet and I just want it to write to the event log successfully but I can't even get it to do that now. I am trying to write an event in the OnStart event. The service is being started successfully, according to the standard event log, but my custom events are not getting there. I don't understand why as I am using the same code for that as I was before.
