VS 2008 Capturing Or Presetting The Size Of A Splitter
Mar 9, 2011
In VB 2008 - Is there a way to capture the value a splitter is set to? Here's the scenario - 2 panels side by side. Panel 1 has a splitter - Split1 houses a tree view and Split 2 houses documents in the tree. Is it possible when a user resizes that splitter to grab the value and set as a default? Also, I am only able to get the splitter to be 50/50 no matter the real estate it's consuming... is there a way to preset that size and shrink the outer panel within an event so panel 2 can consume that realestate?
In my project I am capturing frames using a camera. The frame resolution is 1280*1024. Now I wanted to copy the same captured frame i.e contents of buffer(1280*1024 size) into an another buffer which is of size 1024*1024. The remaining 256bits I just want to discard.
I need to create a program that can capture video and image. The program is very simple, it just have a screen and a button labeled "Capture". When I click capture, it will capture the image and save it in drive "C:".
My application is designed to open a desired folder. Now, I want my application to be able to capture the path & name of the current open folder in Explorer so that the user can easily save it as favorit without writing the path and stuff.
Basically I have created a windows service using VB 2008 where I am trying to capture screenshots periodically. The timer is working fine and I have tested this. The purpose of the service is to monitor the desktop over night when the user is logged off, by capturing screenshots and saving them to file. This is so admin can be alarmed about security breaches etc.
Im trying to resize a picturebox dynamically using .size.height and .size.width Its not working. This is the error message: "Expression is a value and therefore cannot be the target of an assignment." Never used height and width before. Been trying to find the answer, but it seems beyond me. Im sure its easy. Anyone know whats wrong with this?
I have wondered the solution to this question for many years! I doubt if anyone else knows much about it because the internet is absolutely zero help in this!
I have made a form1 with a webbrowser control on it. When the program is run it brings up the homepage (which is Google). However the homepage doesn't seem to fit inside the webbrowser control.
So I am hoping that someone could tell me how to make the (...I dunno how to ask this retarded question...) webpage fit completely (100%) inside the size of the webbrowser control. Meaning...I would like to see the entire webpage from the internet in the size of the webbrowser control. To fill the entire size (whatever size I want).
Etc... if my webbrowser ontrol is seh, set to 600px by 400px, how can I program this so when it brings up the homepage (or any other page), it fills the entire size of the webbrowser control? Without any scrollbars. How to make the contents from the web (or local) fill the size of the webbrowser - almost like a mini browser if you will.
I developed a form application on my computer, but when it was used in another computer with different screen size, i was told the form didn't fit. Do I have to adjust the form size or any other ways to let the form compatible on different screen size? (could be different screen size or wide screen)
I have a treeview and a gridview in my page.My application is windows application in vb.I want to use splitter to move treeview and a gridview. Can anyone help to give the splitter code to do this.
I'm trying to make a email application. But when i use 2 splitters (1 vertical and 1 horizontal) The Horizontal will move but the vertical one doesn't. BTW if i move the horizontal it won't change size or position.
I have a form that has two sections that are resizeable using a splitcontainter. It all works great, but I was wondering if there is a way to make the splitter bar you use for the resize more obvious?I can't find a setting to turn just the split bar 3d or add a style to just the split bar. is this not possible, or am I missing something?
I created a Winform in VB.NET, and I added a Splitter control to allow resizing of panels during runtime. My issue is that the splitter control is not apparent. I would like to make it appear in a way that the user would know the form can be resized. At the moment, I basically just changed the color, but I don't like how that looks.
splitterbar to have a button where i can hide, resize the panel or expandablecollaspe themI want to use splitContainer where I can resize between the two panels expandablecollaspe them, but I can't make the button on the splitterbar.
I am working on splitter control in winform, I want to insert the image in the splitter and make the image location to stay at the same place in the splitter when I am moving them. When i am moving the splitter, the image will move around in winform which it is a messy.Public Class Form1
Private Sub Splitter1_SplitterMoved(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.SplitterEventArgs) Handles Splitter1.SplitterMoved PictureBox1.Left = Splitter1.Left + e.SplitX End Sub
I am working on splitter control in winform, I want to insert the image in the splitter and make the image location to stay at the same place in the splitter when I am moving them.
When i am moving the splitter, the image will move around in winform which it is a messy.
Code: Public Class Form1 Private Sub Splitter1_SplitterMoved(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.SplitterEventArgs) Handles Splitter1.SplitterMoved
I have a VB .NET form with a splitter control on it, and I want to save its position between program runs. I am currently handling the SplitterMoved event and storing the SplitterDistance. Then on program startup, I set the SplitterDistance to the saved value.
However, sometimes the program resizes the splitter, raising the SplitterMoved event and overwriting my saved distance. I have several splitters over multiple tabs in a tab control, and any time the user goes to a new tab for the first time, the SplitterMoved event fires. Is there an event I can use that will only fire when the user moves the splitter, and not when the program moves the splitter? I tried MouseUp, but when that event fires, the new SplitterDistance is not yet set.
I have 3 splitcontainers on my form. Each splitcontainer has vertical splitter orientation
This forms 3 'panels' which are resizable by dragging their respective splitters.
Each vertical 'panel' is then split horizontally by adding another splitcontainer with horizontal splitter orientation. I now have 3 column 'panels' each of which is split into 2 'rows'
My question is : In a nested splitcontainer scenario When a user drags splitters and resizes panels, how can I remember the last splitter location so that when the form is closed and reopened, it remembers the last used positions ?
Now all went well about from using the structure correctly. The working of the structure was perfect. How ever i missed Two important issues. The structure needed a fixed size of 10 items (9 in programming terms starting from 0) And also out of the 5 items allowed to be chosen as one of the member types for the structure a limit of 5 items of that particular type.
I have the below code that i am trying to have two datagrids with a grid splityter in the middle. The split seems to be working fine but the issue i am having is when I populate the datagrid it is growing in height and changing the splitter instead of leaving the height alone and adding scroll bars.
What simple thing am I overlooking? <Grid x:Name="gdHistory" Grid.Column="0" Grid.Row="2" > <Grid.RowDefinitions>
I was creating some complex applications in Visual Basic .NET 2008 and since they are in the testing phase right now, people manage to find an error or two every so often that causes the program to crash. The problem is that there is a tracking piece to it that logs who is currently using the programs. When a user logs in, it logs that they are currently logged in, and if the form close event is fired, the log is deleted to show that they have closed it.
Now my problem comes whenever the form crashes from an error since it won't trigger the close event and therefore makes the log become inaccurate. My question is if it is possible to capture any error that the form would have in the form of an event?
I am trying to make a simple personal program and cannot figure out how to capture a section of the screen.I want it to work like prt scr does except it captures a specified rectangle instead of the entire screen. I am thinking I have to use Drawing.Graphics but am not sure.
I am trying to modifying the "Math Quiz" tutorial to be more user friendly.
The initial tutorial does not consider the users efforts to answer the math problems as quickly as possible.
The problem is that you must use the mouse or tab key rather than the "enter" key to move to the next control after answering. I believe using the "Enter key to be much more intuitive.
Therefore, I wish to modify the program to either:
1. Check the KeyPress event of the NumberUpDown controls to watch for the "Enter" key to be pressed, and if it is, check to ensure that the current NumberUpDown control is not empty (= Nothing) and if both are True, to then TAB to the next control in the TAB order; OR
2. Uses the PreviewKeyDown event to transpose the "Enter" into a "Tab" automatically so the application will then TAB to the next control in the TAB order.
With all of the new changes to VB 2010 from the last version I actually used professionally (VB6), things are REALLY different, so I no longer know how to accomplish this same task in the new manner. especially if it contains working CODE, because I have always learned better the first time from an example. here is my version of the tutorial Code:
'--- Create a Random object to generate random numbers. Private objRandomValue As New Random '--- The Integers will store the numbers for the ' addition problem.
Okay, so I know how to capture a screenshot of the Active Window, but if the active window is a game, then the screen is just black. What do I need to do to be able to also capture ingame screens?
