Jul 27, 2011I am trying to read the pc system information so that I can retrieve the time and date format.
My code below:

Info = System.Globalization.CultureInfo.CurrentUICulture.DateTimeFormat
Debug.WriteLine(Info.LongDatePattern)
Retruns in debug: "dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy"
So I have 2 questions;
1) Why is there, a dd after the MMMM.
2) My company has small franchise branch offices round the world - France, USA, etc. What I am trying to do is get the date format so I can decide what country I am in - then when I print out the date on my order labels I can change the date format to suit Americans or Europeans etc.

I have everything complete and ready to be submitted, but the only thing left is getting the label that displays the entered time to look like it is in a clock format.
Right now you enter the digits and it puts them like this: 95959
I am trying to get it to always enter it like this: 9:59:59

1- User enters time in hhmm format
2- Checks the input
3- If wrong, MessageBox.Show("Need hh:mm time format")
I have only used IF statement with IsNumeric to check for number input but was unsuccessful with various attempts I can think of for checking a time format as I need Option Strict On and have the following error: Option Strict On disallows implicit conversions from 'String' to 'Date'.Is there a way to like check if the hh:mm has the ":" separator too?

Asp.net - Format A Varchar In A Gridview In Military Time To Standard Time
Apr 19, 2012There is a varchar column in the database table in this format of military time 1230 or 1750 or 1320 and that field get populated into a gridview in asp. I need to convert that string to standard time. I have tried the DateFormatString and nothing seems to work.

Jul 8, 2009I am trying to create a plugin system. I have the actual plugins working fine but now I want to implement a system that knows whether the plugin is installed or not. I can get the plugin name when the form is loaded (ex. "Plugin1"). I then want to check this against something to see if that specific plugin is already there (if not add it) and if it is there is it enabled. I was thinking of doing this with an xml file but thought that might be a lot of work reading and writing each value. I then thought of the My.Settings and was wondering if this is possible. I would want to create an "element" for the name and give it a value of either true or false.

VS 2008 Windows 7 - Code That Starts The Disk Check On Boot Time
Mar 6, 2010I made a code that starts the Disk Check on boot time it works fine on Windows Vista and Windows Xp but on windows 7 I checked the path at were windows 7 stores BootExecute and it is on the same path. Maybe the system is blocking it. Or do i have to change the code.
