working with DataGridView and MSAccess. I have 3 combo boxes that will give me the search data to use to fill in the DataGridView box. I am only showing 3 items in the DataGridView. Can someone lead me to some code I can use to help me setup the query or code I need to fill out the DataGridVeiw box based on the 3 items I have.

I have created a DB connection, loaded my data grid and am looking to perform accumulation on the salaries that are shown. However it won't give me access to my grid view or the table for the Row.

I tried to dim the Row as myDA.Row and myDataSet.Row and it won't allow me to and I can't figure out why. I know this deals with database but the problem is the logic not the database.
I have a dictionary (literally) database file in Access: its Fields are Headword (string) and Definition (Memo, it's in Rich Text). The Rich text looks fine in Access, but when I connect a Visual Basic (2008) Datagridview control to the database, the text looks like HTML, not RTF, and when I try to copy a specified "definition" into a RichtextBox, I get the same weird symbols, not RTF. One attached snapshot is how a record looks in Access, the other in a VB 2008 form with a datagridview control and an attempt to paste contents into a RichTextBox.
How can I get that same "look" from the RTF in the original Access file? I'm only recently moving from VB6; not a professional
I am trying to move from the old ADO to the new ADO .NET . However , no matter how many tutorials I read over the internet , I still can't find a way to do something which , as I believe , has to be very simple I tried to mimic the way the graphic control did but I am missing some things ... I noticed that , in the graphic way , the wizard created 4 controls :- a DataGridView control- a DataSet control- a BindingSource control- a TableAdapter controlI recreated all of them and filled their correspondent properties , but yet I can't make it work . I think what I am missing is the connection itself . I looked on the internet and I think a connection can be made and opened like this :

I have a DataGridView, and I want to fill in some values in some fields automatically, ie, the form should enter those values by itself when a new row is added. To read the values from a row in the DataGridView, I was using the snippet below:[code]However, I can't use that method to write values. I would have used an update statement, but I actually cant use an update here, because I wanna fill in a few columns of the DataGrid, while leaving the rest for the user to fill in.Better still, is there some way to directly enter the values for a few columns in the bindingsource, and display only a few columns to be entered in the DataGridView? Basically, I have a PatientID field which must be entered automatically by the form, so I wanna leave this column out of the grid to save space. Meanwhile, the other columns, namely DrugID and Quantity must be displayed in the Grid, and the user must be allowed to edit them.
View 1 RepliesI have a DataGridView where Cell_Validating is being done. I have a Cancel button on my form that allows the user to exit out of the DataGridView changes. The problem is that if a cell was currently flagged as in error, I cannot exit and remove columns from the DataGridView. I get the following error: Operation did not succeed because the program cannot commit or quit a cell value change. Is there a way to cancel the validation once the focus has been removed from the DataGridView? Here is my Cell_Validating

Currently I have DataGridView box, clicking generate button fills it with a query from the database.I want the add button to add another row filled using the same query, so far I cannot get it to do it.Current generate button code:

Add button code:
Me.DataSet.App.Rows.Add() - this does add a new empty row
I tried sticking the generate code inside (between add brackets) it but that just did the same thing as the generate code.
Basically I would like to have an sql statement which selects all the bookings from a table in microsoft access callled tblBookings where a certain date (selected by a datetimepicker) selected in vb.net.
The field the date is in access is bookingsdate and that is a shortdate aswell.
The problem is that even if the dates are the same the headers come up in the datagridview but no data.

While I can query for certain data, I want to know how to show a whole table in DataGridView. For example, I have a table called phoneNumbers and I want to show the whole thing in DataGridView3 instead of parts of it.
I have an access query which plays flawlesly in Access.I want to use it as a source for a datagridview i use in one of my forms but....given the fact that is a rather big query with some "like" and conditions like ">3" and so on AND the fact it uses tables from 3 different mdb (not to mention is bases on other queries...i 'ill try my best to fix this) what is the best approach .
1st case .Can i retrieve the data simply with NO oledbparameteres and NO " select * xxx where yyy like 'd' ".I think there is a issue with the Oledb connection that "omits" them.To explain better the query right now with the filters in access returns 3 rows, without the filters 30 rows,can i get just the 3 rows to do my job... 2nd case . How should i fill a datagridview using tables from 3 different mdbs.If you can show me an example it would be life saving.
