I have created a program where I need to add, delete and update, I used a datasource and bound the items to a list. No errors occur and the data set updates, adds and deletes but the database doesn't. I have uploaded my program to a filehosting website as it is larger than 500kb and made the Main Menu the default form, please navigate to the first button or to the AddUpdate form and please help me to see where I have gone wrong. I'm using the Visual Basic Express edition 2008 and I'm not able to save the changes to the dataset as well as dataset. While the application is running. I can see the changes are made in the table but the moment I close the application and check the data in the Dataset in the right window or the data in the database in the left window, I see no changesI have also tried the Update property of Table Adapter but no use. I have done Endinit, AcceptChanges everything but moment I clode the application no changes are reflected in dataset or databse.
In my project,I used the wizard in VB.NET2008 Express to connect to my database. I have a data connector, adapter, and dataset controls on my form. I have been able to load the information into the dataset, and used the datCustomers.Customers.AddCustomersRow to add a new row to the dataset with information.
I now want to save the updated dataset to the database. I have tried using the adapterCustomers.Update(datCustomers) command to no avail. how to save the dataset to the database?
I have a dataset (WW1Dataset) with one data table(WW1).(database used in an access database) I'm trying to filter the dataset e.g a user wants to filter by a chosen surname (SurnameTextBox.text) so the datset is filtered to display only those records wherethe surname column in the dataset matches SurnameTextBox.text.

I do not know much of datasets. I have created a local database with a table as per img 1 attached, and I use them in a simple drop down selector as per img 2. But I get the message as per img 3 , and I played around with the dataset, removing teh primarkey, etc.
I am using VB Exopress 2008 and SQl Server Express 2008 in Windows Vista Home Premium. I have created a dataset after importing all tables and queries from MS Access to SQL Server. I have now added a view in SQL Server that I want to access and use in VB Express. However on clicking "Refresh" for the dataset the new view does not display in the available objects, only those I originally imported and opened with the original dataset. What, pleas am I doing wrong? How can I see this new View?
I have a problem saving a dataset which contains rows that i have imported from another dataset. i can successfully view the imported rows in a gridview but i cannot commit the rows back to the database.
I am currently puting together a data driven application just for fun and to get to know sql. I dont know if i have to create the connection to the table in this code so it can update,save,delete my info in the datagrid directly to the database source.?
When i save the info it only shows in the DATABASE thats in the BIN directory not the other one (the main one)...but either way when i close the whole project and open it again it loads the info from the main DATABASE and of course the BIN one changes witout the saved data?
i use this gridview to save data to database. but everytime i save, the only data that saved was checkbox that i was recently checked. so checkbox that was supposed checked not saved to database. [code]
This has really been a problem for me in the past and with deadlines, we decided to just have the app copy the image to the server, rename it and save the link in the database. This is the worst way of saving that kind of sensitive data, I know. We now have the time to fix that.

The second problem I have is I cannot save the primary key.
Assume that I have these: Table name: tCustomer Fields: ID Datatype [Text]

Now, the user fills in the form. The ID cannot be edited by them where it's automatically counts the number of customer in database and give the id. For example, I already have 3 customers in the database so when I add new Customer, it will be 4 for the ID.
When I click save, it shows me the message of "Index or primary key cannot contain a Null value." I have set an input mask for my Customer. So, can I make it to save in a format like CT001, CT002, CT003 automatically?
I am using Regex operation by retriving column into Richtextbox and run sevral time of all regex operation ( which is quite good and faster on that) then updating that inti database (Sqlite).
1. Retriving 1 million of record column into richtextbox from database.
2. updating database with that.(using richtextbox).these things killing time.
what to use in place of that.(means what to use for fast preview-run regex - update that edited column into database)
