VS 2008 Displaying Text On Custom Control (Inherits ListBox)?

So, I'm working on a custom LitBox that accepts custom items. needed the item collection to be more than just strings, I needed to be able to store avalue to display in the listbox and an associated value (Property: Text) that holds an index value (Property: Tag) of DataTable I'm working with.I have created the new item (iListBoxItem) and the collection (iListBoxItemCollection) and have modified everything so that I can do normal Collection type methods (Add, InsertAt, RemoveAt, etc) to this collection.

I am using custom textboxes and I need to be able to set the Text on txb1 based on the Text of txb2. I have simplied my code to the following:
Public Class customtextbox
Inherits TextBox
Public Event ControlReset()

So, when txb1 looses focus, if its Text is "fried", then it sets off txb2's ProcessAlert function. I had tried to change the value of txb2 Text in ProcessAlert function, but didnt work, so I tried to get it to raise an event instead, which then tries to set the Text property. However I still cant set txb2's Text property. The Text property seems to be set for the duration of the "life" of the Event handler. When I step through the forms controls within the Event handler, the changed Text value is there, but not outside of the Event handler.

inherit from two classes in VB.net?We are developing Custom User Controls that inherits from say System.Web.UI.WebControls.Label. We are planning on implementing a bunch of these controls but they will share mostly the same additional properties. We are hopeful about centralising these properties.I have looked into interfaces but it seems they only 'contract' properties you need to implement.

I want to create a custom control that has a cursor like a regular text box, I tried using a line and a timer that makes the line 'Blink', but that wasn't too reliable because I had to change the location and background in the timer... I guess I could do it, but I wanted to ask my question here.
Basically what I am doing is creating a custom control to allow inputs as in fractions, sub/superscripts, etc.... The TextBox Control doesn't support text in that many locations.

I have a listbox that is connected to a text file and this file is created when the program opens for the first time and then users can add data to the file as they wish. However what I am having a problem with is that how can I link the selected item in the listview to a textbox.
I.e.
Listview has 3 columns: Name, Surname and Location
Then when the line is selected i want the 3 individual variables to display in 3 seperate text boxes that has been set up.

I'm trying to build a custom ListBox control as inspired by the 'Audi Infotainment System' on high-end Audi vehicles. The only difference is i would like to have a 'boundary' where when scrolling up/down moves the actual list up or down. Basically, i would like my list to act like a normal ListBox except i would like to show say one or two items above and below normally only visible items.

What I really want is that when radGunsNRoses is checked, the listbox displays the songs and when one is clicked, it shows the song's lyrics in the ritfSongs. Same thing goes for radACDC but the songs are different and the lyrics.

it has a datetime property, and a message as string property
I have declared myLogEntries as List(of logItem)
I have a ListBox.
Ok now what?
I have searched but i am getting lost in all the examples.
I have set the ItemsSource=myLogEntries
I think i need a datatemplate or maybe to specify binding source.
I am doing all this in the wpf form loaded event.
I guess i need a sample code for binding a list of collection to a listbox.

In my desktop application I am writing output to a rich text file *.rtb and loading it into my rich text box control so the user can see the results of an analysis...This analysis which is saved as *rthas 50-200 pages of textUsing the rich text box control works ok but I would like to have a table of contents with hyperlinks or navigation tree that would allow the user to click on a link and go right to the specific page of output.

I want to create a User-Control that inherits the functionality of a TabContol.
I begin by starting a new project of the type Windows Form Control Library. Next I place a TabControl on the UserControl designer surface and Dock the TabContol to Fill the UserControl.
I go to the code editor for the UserControl and enter the following line of code.
Inherits System.Windows.Form.TabControl
Then I run the program and get an error. Intellisence recommends that I use one of two recomendation. When I accept the recommendation I and try to run the program the problems esculate.
The design-surface is no longer accessable.
I try to comment out the problem lines of code in the UserControl1.Designer.VB file but that doesn't help.
How can I create a UserControl that Inherits the Properties of the TabControl so that the properties of the TabControl are visable in the Properties Window?

I have made a custom control and the only change to the interface is that its a different color. Whenever the user moves their mouse over the control some white text fades in in the middle of the user control. Then after a few seconds the text fades out. The text is actually the location of the cursor but I have that figured out.

When I type, it should show a grid for the suggestion have the typed value.for an example if I want to search a student "ashish". I have a Custom Groupbox that overrides the OnPaint event to do some custom drawing, backgrounds, etc. The problem I have is that when I use it in an application and want to draw text on the control, it gets drawn first, then immediately afterwards the OnPaint from the control gets called and draws on top of the text. Is there any way to get the text drawn after the control's OnPaint?

I am making a custom button control and am having some difficulty with my Text property. Anything I type in only stays while the form designer window is open. When I close the form designer and reopen it, my Text property resets to "". Also if I run the program, it loses the value entered at design time.
I also have an Image property for my control which is working just fine.
