Dim lines As New List(Of String)(IO.File.ReadAllLines(TextBox1.Text))
Tname1.Text = lines(0)

I noticed that in the first msgbox it has forward and backward slashes could that be my problem or is it something else?

As I am not overly familiar with SQL Server Express, is it possible to connect to a local SQL Server Express Instance and access the database from a VB.Net Service while the user is not logged in to the PC?

We're trying to write code to obtained all the logged on users to a remote machine.
We have the following, which only seems to identify users if they are logged in locally. However, if they're logged in through some other means (such as remote desktop), it doesn't seem to pick those users up.
How can we obtain all the users logged into a machine while excluding those users who only have a process running but aren't logged in (eg, a service is installed by them and might be currently running under their name)?
Dim WMIObject As String = "winmgmts://" & strComputerName.Text & "/root/cimv2" Dim oComputerQuery As Object 'Contains a sorted list of every user logged into the system
I have this code that gives me the user logged on name of a remote computer, but if i run the program in certaing computers, it returns with the error "Not Available Due Restrictions" which is set if the scope cant connect...

At the end of the re-installation of Visual Studio 2008, there is this message: "Microsoft SQL Publishing Wizard: [2] Error: Installation failed for component Microsoft SQL Publishing Wizard. MSI returned error code 1638" in the log file dd_error_vs_procore_90.txt.
When I searched for just "MSI returned error code 1638", I got that it cannot install something because it is already installed: "Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel".
In Add/Remove Programs I see these two programs: Microsoft SQL Server Database Publishing Wizard 1.3 Microsoft SQL Server Database Publishing Wizard 1.4
Are these programs/versions what the error is refering to? Am I safe to remove them and depend on the similarly-named item which would be newly installed with Visual Studio 2008 - "Microsoft SQL Publishing Wizard"?
I still use SQL Server 2000 and 2005 on my computer, as well as 2008.
I had installed VS 2008 on my computer before without this problem and also have VS 2005 and 2010.

I'm trying to upload a file via FTP from my local computer to an FTP server, which is also on my local computer at the moment. I've got this sub I'm calling:
Public Sub UploadFTPFile(ByVal ftpservername, ByVal fullfilepath, ByVal filename, ByVal username, ByVal password)Dim clsRequest As System.Net.FtpWebRequest = _ DirectCast(System.Net.WebRequest.Create("ftp://" & ftpservername & "/" & filename), System.Net.FtpWebRequest) clsRequest.Credentials = New System.Net.NetworkCredential(username, password) clsRequest.Method = System.Net.WebRequestMethods.Ftp.UploadFile

I'm running an FTP Server using Golder FTP Server, which is freeware. I think it's setup correctly because connecting to the FTP Server using the exact same string as above using Windows Explorer works great.
I have a vb.net app that is installed on server 2008 and registered as a remote app with approximately 70 users accessing it. There is an issue that when I put a new version of the app on the server, every user must remote desktop in and run setup.exe before the app will update to the newest version. If they try to run it without doing this step first, the app just runs the previously installed version under their login.
I'm using ReportExecutionService to create file on a different server on the network. The application does the required job if I run it locally, but fails to create file when I publish it. The error I get is- Access to the path '\servernameapth..xyz' is denied. The folder has full access to Domain users. Here is my code to create a report file on a different server via an ASP.net app.
