then i need then to hide different buttons depending on which button was pressed. so say i pressed button 1 then all the buttons showed but alternativly if i had of pressed 2 then say button 5 and 6 disapear.managed to get one way to work but then i would only ever end up with the first results every time.

Mar 3, 2012I have a piece of software with two tabs, inside each tab there are buttons (the user can add the buttons when they want). when tab1 is full tab2 should start to fill. I currently know how many buttons fit on the screen so I just say something like if buttons > 150 then start to populate tab 2 The problem i have now though is if the resolution is changed then a different amount of buttons can be displayed. so if I put my screen to 1280x720 some buttons are left of. I was thinking of detecting the resolution and then using different cases for different resolutions but this seems very inefficient im wondering if there is a different way?

Feb 5, 2010What I would like to do is to have four different buttons (e.g., buttonA, buttonB, buttonC and button D). I wanna give the following instruction to the people: press these buttons in the following order: first buttonA, then buttonB, then buttonC and last buttonD. If they obey this instruction then a picture will be displayed, for instance a happy face. All the other combinations will not activate this picture to be displayed, or in other words, there won't be any consequence. I would also like to save this data using windows note pad e.g., writeline (1, xxxxxx). Is there any chance I will make it?

Jul 12, 2009I am having a problem doing select case inside my groupbox.I have a bunch of buttons in a groupbox, each button will do a same function only with a different values when clicked.For example, let's say i have 3 buttons in the groupbox for now.[code]The function will display a message in a textbox.My problem here is, the message shown in the textbox will always be Case "C", the last 1. I jumbled the order, anything that's last will appear instead which I think it's because of the For Each. I tried a do while loop but I do not have any conditions i can think of to use for it. I also tried using IFs instead of Select Case but not successful.

Aug 31, 2010I have a next and back button to switch in between my tabs. There are 7 tabs on the form. My problem is that if I am on Tab 1(the first tab) and I keep clicking the back button that it keeps subtracting the the number (next_CurrentIndex) and I got to press the next button that many times in order for it to go to the next tab. Example: Lets say I'm on tab 1(first tab) and i click the back button 5 times. I then have to click the next button 6 times in order for it to proceed to the next tab which would be tab 2. This happens if im on tab 7 and continue to hit next also. [code]

Sep 4, 2011I want to use an image to some buttons . I know I can set the Image property and select an image file . My problem , however , has to do with the fact that the image in the file is always shown inside a gray contour . I mean the image itself (i.e. an exclamation mark) is shown correctly , but though around it there is nothing (not even a gray surface - just nothing) the image is displayed with gray color filing everything else . Back in VB6 I had no such problem ... I could simply select my image and it was shown correctly .

Jul 26, 2010I have a Rectangle (the class) that I'm using to define a region on a form and when the mouse enters that region it shows 2 buttons (which are on the form and within the bounds of the rectangle) and I would like the buttons to remain visible when the mouse is over either of the 2 buttons then when the mouse leaves the region or leaves the form they are set to invisible again. Here's the code I have so far:

The problem is when the mouse enters the bounds of the button, the form's MouseLeave event fires and thus my buttons are hidden which means the user can't click either of them either.

There is one other button stating "Randomize" and when you hit this randomize button all the three buttons that were first containing 1, 2 and 3 are now shuffled in a random order like 2, 3 and 1. In fact, when clicking the randomise button the figures will stay between 1 and 3.I was hoping to sort this out with the following code but it didn't actually work at all:

VS 2008 : Getting Keys To Associate With Buttons?
Oct 29, 2009I'm doing a school project in VB 2008 and I'm trying to get the buttons on the form to activate when you hit a given key. Like if I hit the "1" key, either on the numberpad or the keyboard, the "1" button would activate. I've tried the KeyDown method without sucess, but that might just be my code...The teacher suggested I use a txtbox instead of a lable for a display and then just disable all but number keys (which I can do, but that creates other problems with the input). I just want to be able to hit a given key, and have it correspond to a specific button. [And I can't use the ampersand hotkey thing... it underlines the txt in the button and makes it look ugly and it doesn't work with special characters]

Jul 31, 2009I have 4 radio buttons in a group box that I populate with answers from a database.
1.) The way the program works is I first populate one of the buttons randomly with the correct answer.
2.) I then proceed to populate the remaining buttons with False answers, by starting at the first button to see if it has a value or not. If not, it is then populated, if so then its skipped and I move on to the next button. This continues until I populate the remaining three buttons with false answers.what is the best way to prevent the three false buttons from having the same value? And where can I find an example.
