Is it possible to open an html doc that was created by my vb 2008 application once it's been created? I have it created on my desktop, once it's there I'd like it to automatically open in firefox. I tried
Using sr As StreamReader = File.OpenText(path)
Do While sr.Peek() >= 0
Console.WriteLine(sr.ReadLine())
Loop
End Using
For starters, but it doesn't open anything. It creates the file just fine though.
how can i tell if my webbrowser1 if fully loaded with code ? i would need something like this [code] i just need a msgbox to tell me when the webbrowser1 if fully loaded
I have several files that I am reading in and 'scrubbing'. The scrubbing is simply taking certain HTML tags and changing them - no big deal.When I read in the files (one at a time), they read and then I scrub them.The files stop reading mid-way *no matter what* the encoding type There is no stop character or anything, it is simple HTML and I do not see any reason why the file isn't being read I have attached one of files that is having a problem and the code is quite simple:
Dim oRead As New System.IO.StreamReader(Dir & "" & FN, Encoding.ASCII) EntireFile = oRead.ReadToEnd()
I use visual studio 2008. I have a problem I finally got the progress bar to work but I want it to stop when the website I choose to display is fully loaded.
Here is my code below Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click WebBrowser1.Navigate(TextBox1.Text) End Sub [Code] .....
I wonder how to make the Radiobutton ON when webbrowser is fully loaded, and the Radiobutton OFF when the page is loading. It's like boolen. Im using Webbrowser1.If you do not understand im mean this:
1. Click on a link on a site.
2. The Radiobutton gone OFF.
3. When the page is 100% loaded, the Radiobutton gone ON.

I have a copy Oracle 11g which is now fully installed. Will it work with Visual Basic Express 2008 or just Visual Studio 2008 Professional? I have both Visual Basic Express 2008 and Visual Studio 2008 Professional. I really would like to know if it works with Visual Basic Express 2008.
Wanting to have multiple datagridviews showing unique information (via filters?) based on cell content all coming from one data table.
Example: 3 datagridviews accessing the same datatable that has a [Job Status] column limited to one of the following 3 entries NEW, JOBS IN PROGRESS or COMPLETED and having that column hidden from view on all gridviews
My form contains a datagrid and a checked listbox. The listbox is populated on the form_load event. There's a function called when the datagrid's SelectionChanged event is triggered that modifies the checkmarks in the listbox. It all works fine when I manually click on any item in the datagrid.
However, the very first time the form runs, the checkmarks are not affected, even though the first item in the datagrid appears selected. I discovered that this is because the actual listbox is not yet populated on the form at the time the very first SelectionChanged event is triggered. So when the function tries setting the checkboxes, it doesn't get anywhere, since it doesn't see any items in the listbox.
Somehow the datagrid is getting populated, even before the form_load event is triggered. I need the listbox to be populated before the datagrid is populated, but I have no idea how to control this.
I have a checked listbox that I've populated with a table that has three columns, Name, Address, Phone - and have done so successfully, but when i display the items in the listbox, i would like to retrieve additional values of the checked items other than the primary displayitem.[code]'we now have an array full of the Name column only, from our checked items 'i'd like to grab the other two as well (not to display in the listbox, but to use elsewhere as variables) 'and keep the checked listbox as a control in the above code, the fill_array variable is only populated with the items displayed in the checkedlistbox - my question is, can i keep the display item the same and pull the other two columns from the datasource, but only for the ones that make the checkeditems list?
how do i read the first line of text of every text file in a folder and populated in a list box. Also how do I get it to show the file name in a text box when you select an item in the listbox
I am trying to build my own website and realized that it would be a big help to also create my own vb program to enable me to embed tags with simple clicks of buttons. I am having trouble getting my vb code to be compatible with html code (I keep getting vb syntax errors).
Here is what I've tried:
<strong>'Inside of a button:Textbox1.text = "<html tag example></html tag example>"</strong>
I'm using a DataGridView to post the results of LINQ-from-SQL query. I was hoping that the data would be editable in the DataGridView, but it isn't. I made sure that DataGridView.readonly = false. I'm using VB.
VB 2008 DB = New CXToolDataContext() Dim Systems = (From TBLSYSTEMS In DB.tblSystems, TBLSYSTYPES In DB.tblSystemTypes _ Where TBLSYSTEMS.ProjectName = projectnumber And TBLSYSTEMS.SystemType =
I have a problem which I have not been able to find an answer to in months. I store word doc resumes as varbinary(max). I can retrieve the resumes based on a full-text search no problem. But the resumes are retrieved as word documents in a .ashx file with the following code. I really need to implement hit highlighting on the site so that users can see if the returned resume is a good fit or not.
I don't think this can be done from an .ashx file, so I think I need to be able to open the resume as html in an aspx page and maybe use javascript to do the hit highlighting or perhaps return the text only content of the word document somehow and manipulate the text before display with html tags.
I'm making a program that creates a url for an image and where the url originall comes from is where I want the new url to go, so how could I change the specific html for that image in the open web browser such as firefox. If you need to know the web site and the image here's a link to the page. Link here's the picture on the page I want to change here's the html for that image.
I have a project i am working on, I want to be able to make a choice in say a Treeview control, and in the code behind Click event i would like it to open a dynamic page in a new browser tab, My difficulty is that the Response.Redirect("http:xxx") opens it in the same browser tab that has focus i have tried to add Target=_blank but not certain if this is usable attribute of the response object, and i also believe if it did work it would be more like a pop-up than a new tab. i have searched for more than a week now and have found nothing that works.
Response.Redirect("~\PM\HTMLSched.htm") (opens the page in the same tab) 'Dim url = "~\PM\HTMLSched.htm"
Now as you can see it is sending the textbox1 text and then pressing enter then sending textbox2 text! Theres quite a few problems in that but before i discuss note: This code is in a Timer. Problem #1: It does not send the keys fully correct all the time because its trying to send them all at once! So i want it to send them 1 letter after the other with 200 ms sleep in them! Problem #2: The sleep is not working: The reason i know is because even after it did the first textbox1 text it didnt wait that 2000 ms!
I have a VB.NET web application where I am opening a window when a user clicks on a link to view some external tabular data. The data I'm displaying definitely requires a vertical scrollbar in order to see everything...For some reason I cannot get a vertical scrollbar to show up when the new window loads. Here's the JS that opens the window:
I use DocTools to Create a Compiled HTML Help File. I want to link to a specific topic in the help file from my program, but the filenames of the html files are generated randomly.
Is there any way to open a CHM to a specific topic by name?
I created a wrapper for DocTools, so I could have the command line piped to a text box and then I could obtain the Topics from there and save them in an INI file that I read when I call the help, but I don't know how to pipe the command line to a textbox.
I'm letting my users write their own HTML from my webpage. When they click the preview button, my code behind needs access to controls on the page (and so I understand I can't use a web method here). It builds the HTML and saves it as a file on the server. My question is: Once the file has been made, I want to automatically open the file in a new window for the user to see their handy work. I'm using vb.net, but happy to receive c# answers.
I want to open a local html file in the user's default Web browser, and jump to an anchor within that file. In other words, I would like to have a result similar to clicking a link to localfile.html#my_anchor.
I've been using the System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(String) method to open html files, and this works fine. In the following example, I open a file named "info.html" in the "SomeInfo" subfolder of the folder containing the application:
This may sound really stupid but I have to ask cause I'm not finding this answer anywhere.I have an application where the user will need to sign up for a new user account on the website [URL]..However when I am using Firefox's plug-in Firebug to view html I am getting something totally different than when I just right click on the site and view the page source.
What I am trying to do is to get the captcha from the website and display it in a picturebox on the application so the user can view the captcha, solve the captcha and then the app post is back to the service for a response.
Here is the source that I am getting using Firefox's Firebug to inspect the element:
<td> <input type="hidden" value="Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK" name="iden"> <img class="capimage" src="/captcha/Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK.png" alt="i wonder if these things even work"> </td>
[Code]...
Why would the two be showing me two different versions of the HTML?
And how would you be able to grab that source to view in a picturebox using webclient?
I know how to open local .msg files in webbrowser in html format.The problem is when the .msg has embedded pictures, the only thing that appears is a blank space ("picture not found") where it is supposed to be.If I open the .msg file in Outlook, I see the images correctly, but in my program I can't see embedded pictures.
Usage: Users create pretty HTML news letters in another app. They post the newsletter to the web, but they also want to set the contents of the HTML news letter file as the body of an email and send it using Application In Question. The users understand to use absolute link and image references when sending an E Newsletter. Environment:
AIQ is a VB.Net app deployed via ClickOnce. It is an intranet app; one can be sure MS Office 2003 and the interop 11 dlls are on the target machines.
Restrictions: MAPI is out. It mangles the HTML. Since it is a ClickOnce deployment, we can't register dlls (I think, correct me if I am wrong). Therefore CDO and COM is out (again, I may be wrong.... I would be happy to be proven so).
