Passing Info Between Two Forms
May 20, 2011I have two forms named are form1 and form2 (form1.h / form2.h)There are a textbox and a button on form1 and form2.When I clicked the button on form1, it must fill the textbox on form2 and when I clicked the button on form2, it must fill the textbox on form1 how can I do it,when I define #include "Form2.h" in form1.h AND #include "Form1.h" in form2.h, it gets me an error "error C2065: undeclared identifier.

Jun 2, 2009i am currently working on a form that looks like this: When i click on any textboxes under Plan Code, the plan form will pop up. When i click on a field in lbType, field will appear in my lbCode. When i click on a field lbCode, i want to be able to insert information into the textboxes.
The problem i have is that i can only get the form to work for the first row of textboxes. Because my code looks like -

Jan 29, 2011I'm trying to pass data from the main form to a business class form for calculation.I have 3 types of cars and I can't get the code right to pass that to the business form. It seems correct to me, but obviously, it's not.This is the code for the calculate button, I can't figure out why its telling me that CarSize is not a member of the business form when I have it in the Enum statement at the top. I'm going by what the book says and this appears right according to it.

In the book it says to specify the class name when declaring the enum on the business form. So to me it looks like it should be -RentalRate.CarSize.Luxury The error I have is 'CarSize' is not a member of the 'ChristiansCarRentals.RentalRate'.
Passing Data Between Forms Vb 2008?
Oct 20, 2010I need to pass a double from form1 to form2 and have form2 return this value back. My problem is while i can receive the proper value in form2 i can not seem to get the corrected value back in form1 (using byRef in form1). Here is the code snip

VS 2008 Passing Data Between Forms?
Jul 8, 2010Form1 is a Datagridview which is non editable. I want a user to be able to double click and open Form2, which will allow editing BUTForm2 is a list view and also had a binding navigator so I guess I cannot use dialogue? I do not want to simply just edit in a dialogue and save.Is there an easy way to get the record from Form1 and pass it to the controls in Form2 so that the correct record is displayed?

Jun 18, 2009I am trying to pass data between forms on a double click operation. On Form1, I have a simple database with three fields (ProfileID(PK), Profile First, Profile Surname). The database has 10 records at present which displays all records in a datagrid view which is set to read only. I have the Selection Mode set to FullRowSelect to highlight the full row.Form2, is a form to Display one record at a time. This form allows editing and saving of changes.How would I go about coding in vb.net to firstly get the ProfileID from the relevant row and send this into Form2 to display that record for editing?

VS 2008 - Sending Data / Passing Value Between Forms
Dec 15, 2009Imagine a project with couple of forms and a module. Now as per my knowledge if i want to send some data from one form to another then :
- If I declare variable friend/public in a module then it can be accessed in the entire project (thus also between forms).
- If I just have to send data from one form to another, then I can call the other form's sub/function and pass value.
- If the pass value by reference then I can get new value only if its changed in that function.
Now what the issue is, I need to pass a variable to a form and in that form when user types contents in a textbox or makes other selection and presses OK button then it should return some values back to the calling form. Now how can I achieve this (without declaring global variables which will be accessible everywhere) ?

Aug 5, 2009To start things up, I have a DLL called clsEmployeeModule, containing forms frmEmpInfo and frmAddEmpName. frmEmpInfo contains a textbox that when clicked displays the frmAddEmpName. Now the latter contains three textboxes (firstname, middlename and lastname) and a Save button. Once the user clicks Save, the values from the three textboxes will be concatenated and displayed as a full name back in the frmEmpInfo form.Below is the code snippet calling the frmAddEmpName:

When I debugged the program, it showed that employee_fullname was successfully populated with the concatenated values -- however, that wasn't the case for the empname textbox.

Apr 24, 2010I have two forms in my project, Form1 and Form2. In Form1 there is one TextBox called Text1, and in the Form2 there is TextBox called Text2. I have one button in Form1, called Button1. When I click on Button1 I want that Form2 open and in Text2 is text from Text1.

And Form2 open but in Text2 there is no text.
Passing Class Info By Value Rather Than By Reference

The problem I'm having is the first time I take a value, it gets inserted in the right section. The second time I insert a value, it inserts it in the correct place AND updates the previous value I inserted with the new value. So apparently when I'm doing:
HighScore1 = Contestant
It's pointing contestant AT highscore1 rather than taking the name, company, and score from contestant and then storing it in highscore1. How I can pass that info by value rather than by reference?

Getting Info From Data Grid Viewer And Placing In Textboxes
Oct 23, 2011I am building a networking application with Visual Studio using the VB .NET programming language. I have multiple forms in this program but would like some advice or an example on how to proceed with one small issue I encountered. Let's say I have two forms: frmCalls and frmView. frmCalls has a Data Grid Viewer that is data bound to a MySQL Database. You can see specific columns and the values to those columns in the rows that the data grid viewer provides.
Now, what I want to do is when a row is selected on the Data Grid Viewer and the user clicks a button titled "More Info", I want the data grid viewer to interpret the data that the user would like to see more info on and place it in a form in frmView. For example: Columns: ID, Address, Time, Incident Nature, Date, etc...
When the user clicks the More Info Button, it should put all the information from the Data Grid Viewer in the appropriate text boxes in frmView. I also want it to input data that is not shown in the Data Grid View, but is located within the same ID or row in the database. I should add that the Data Grid Viewer is using a data bound source, table adapter, etc. Anyone have any suggestions for me on how to proceed? Or maybe some sample code if at all possible.

I have created a login form which only allows access the valid users. However when I am trying to validate the username and password enetered when the user clicks the Login button (btnLogin). However I am unable to pass through the username and password in the Select statement, entered by the user beccause it gives me an error that 'txtloginname' and 'txtpassword' is not declared in the LoginProcess Private Sub.
