im running the following bit of code in a background worker and it is coming up with the following error
"The remote server returned an error: (503) Bad sequence of commands."the code is My.Computer.Network.DownloadFile(strFTP & aryfiles(i), My.Settings.strLocalTemp & aryfiles(i), strPUserName, strPPassword, False, 100, True) It runs fine the first time through but 5 mins later when it runs again it always throws this error.
I am trying to save changes made to a list(of xxx) in a function... Am I over looking something because it barfs on the UpdateModel(e) with saying:

i have a string with data when i tried to retrive character by character in a for loop but the size of the string is just 256 but the actual size is more than that... as soon as it passes 256 it throws IndexOutOfRangeException while its printing well in msgbox. I have removed newline, tab using

View 4 RepliesHow do I get numbers typed into a text box to be feed into my code and then the code to be ran?Below is the code that I want the information from a text box to be fed into. With the (0, 50) being the numbers.I will have a form set up like this, A button labeled Generate. 3 Text boxes total, 2 of them side by side with one being low and one high. For example The user will input 5 in the low box at 100 in the high box. Hitting generate the numbers will then be inserted into code and the result being shown in the 3rd text box.
Now what is the code that I'm looking for that will help me take information from TextBox1 and TextBox2 and insert into the (XXXX, XXXX) field in my buttons code?

I created an application which posts data to a url using webrequest.It worked fine on my computer, but when another client runs the application , he gets the following error:

What I have is a user control that has two RichTextBoxes. In the user control, there is RichTextBox1's TextChanged event, I want it to set RichTextBox2's Text to the same as RichTextBox1's Text, I'm currently using: RichTextBox2.Text = RichTextBox1.Text. When printing large batches of jobs, occasionally he would get a WebException from reporting services saying "The underlying connection was closed".What is the work around for this? Somebody added this portion in the code [code]It doesn't seem to fix the issue though. The customer still notices the Web Exception when she prints a large job to reporting service.

How to generate code from user input. In Visual Studio 2008, Visual Basic. My script always begins with:

Then from here a user would input a quest name, type and zone in a interface using windows forms.

This part a user would enter in his interface what would an NPC say if accepted.

What I need is a few text boxs that a user can input "Kill Zombies" or whatever they like and when they push a generate button it will create a file with a .quest extension. All of the code remains the same except for the quotes that would be the user input from the interface. Basically everything in quotes can be changed by the user in an interface. I have created my own functions for when a user accepts, deny and complete a quest. The user just needs to input what should happen then click a generate button to throw it all together as a .quest file to be saved in his or her quest folder for the server to call on later.
I also have many other functions like:
AddQuestRewardFaction --- (Quest, Faction ID, Amount)
AddQuestRewardCoin --- (Quest, Copper, Silver, Gold, Plat)
AddQuestStepObtainItem --- (Quest, Step ID, Description, Quantity, Percentage, TaskGroupText, Item ID(s))

I am trying to write a code using VB 2008 (console) thats ask's the user to enetr the rainfall for the month. At the end of the year it will give him the average, total, highest, and lowest rainfall for the year. I have wrote the code for total and average but I have no idea where to start for higest and lowest month. I have a ton of airports listed in my Combo Box Right? They are displayed in the following format;
Airport Name (ICAO Code)
For Example
Kansas City Intl (KCI);
Since I have so many, Can someone provide me with a code i can use so in a textbox the user has to only put the icao code and it will display the airport.
For example

Once that user has clicked out of the text box, It will seach the combo box for any values with KCI and will display it
So if textbox1.text = KCI, then combobox1.value = Kansas City Intl (KCI)

The code below is used to check if the application setting, an arraylist is populated or not via the count method.
When running the program fails with error "NullReferenceException was unhandled" as initially the setting (arraylist) will contain no values.In similar circumstances I would declare a new instance of the object or set value to string.empty or check if DBNull.
I know application settings have a save method but to reference/load them one is not needed.I also left the value field in the projects -> settings to be empty.[code]...
