How would I be able, with the click of a button, allow the user to draw on the form? Maybe as if, taking a screen shot of the whole form, and then drawing on top of it? Dose not have to be a lot of colors, just a simple way to draw a line.
I am writing a program wherein the user draws shapes by clicking a button for the desired shape and then clicking on points on the drawing area. I cannot figure out how to store four clicked points to create a foursided polygon. I read many articles that say use the "mousedown" command and store points in a list, I have tried but it's not working for me. To summarize, I need the user to click the polygon button, go to the drawing area, click four points and have a foursided polygon created.
I need to draw lines, in one VB form. Like paint, I need the tool brush, and design some lines and curves in a Vb form. How can I do this? I don't know where to start.
I set my FormBorderStyle of my form to none. This is exactly what i want, except I ran into a problem. When the background is gray (background of other applications running in the background), my form tends to fade in with the background (Still active, but i cant see where my form starts or ends).
Dear all, I'm new in the forum. I have a simple but annoying problem: in a ordinary form I added a label (Label1) and a button (Button1) with the followiing handler.Well if I press Button1 my dot dashed line is correctly drawn over Label1, but what I need is that program automatically does it on form loa
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim Graphic As System.Drawing.Graphics
I have managed to develop a form which allows me to add a record to an access database using Adonet. The last few fields added are populated when i place the mouse over a floor plan image on the form (provide geographical location) and capture the x y coordinate. Prob im having is how on another form i get the points to automatically re-draw on a form with the same content (floor plan on it. I can obviously retrieve the data set using a data adapter/data table just cant make it draw on top of the graphic automatically.
On each of my form I have put an 'Exit' button. When user clicks it, another form is displayed (I don't want to use 'MessageBox') asking user whether he really wants to quit. If user clicks yes the form closes. If user clicks no, form is redisplayed.
However, out of 4 forms only one form refuses to redisplay. The code is exactly same on all forms. I have included 2 Express 2008 projects showing one form each in the zip file apps-ssk.zip
I am wondering if there is any code guide to teach me how to enable the user to draw as many buttons as possible on the windows form and be able to move and resize the buttons on the GUI and also tie the buttons to the timer to toggle the button colour when ever a condition is true
I trying to draw a bar chart based on the five values getting from the user via textbox...When i run this program no error is occured, but the chat is drawn...Can anyone please help me out in this regard.
I have an MDI application. Upon starting it, the MDI form is instantiated, then it kicks off a Username/Password log-in form and makes itself invisible(user never sees the MDI form). If the user logs in, the log-in form becomes invisible and the MDI form becomes visible. This works fine, except for one user. When the log-in form comes up, the MDI form is also visible. If he clicks on something, it crashes(certain variables aren't set at that point). If he logs in, however, the log-in goes invisble and everything works fine. This guy is a network admin/IS type and has several versions/hotfixes of the .Net Framework installed. Could that be the problem? Does anyone know what could be causing this problem for this one user and no one else?
i am trying to log a user in using a login form. i have my connection to my database and there and it connects just fine but it will only read the first row. here is my code.
Code: Dim ConnString As String = "Driver={MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver};Server=dansoft.selfip.com;Option=131072;Stmt=;Database=elemental_battle; User=****;Password=*****;" Dim objConn As New OdbcConnection(ConnString)
[code]....
there are two entries in the database. the first username and password are bagstoper and 1a2b3c4 the second is bagstoper2 and 1a2b3c4d. when i test it with the first username and password it works but when i try the second it doesnt work.
I have a Mdi form and I need to put a control on the form which the user can resize. Now I need a container can be dragged by user to increase it's size. The split container will not work in my case as I have childforms and stuff. I want a container whose size can be increased by dragging it on one side.
im hoping to be able to create a form that welcomes users to the application that i have created, however i want to be able to allow the user the option of the form to 'not be shown again'
I'm looking to have a user type something into a text box on a form and then on button press check that against values held in a single column of a single table in a database that I already have linked to the project. If it finds the item in the table Do X if not Do Y?
Ok, so i am trying o make it so that a user can change themes, i have moved all major code to a module so it can be accessed but then i have a problem.
I have 6 forms, all forms are the same just different themes, The problem is that in the module it calls form1, like for example form1.webbrowser.blah.blah, if i user used form3 for there theme then this dones not work as in the module it calls form1.
Basically i need to add something else there like for example:
dim Cform as string Cform = form1 Cform.webbrowser.blah.blah But form1 can not be a string
I am jsut adding bits on to a Windows Service we are making here at our company, its an Asset Management tools with a few built in extras. It runs as a service on everyones machines but we can also do things like request a reboot etc through it.At the moment when We send a Reboot/shutdown etc command to it the Service on the machines calls 'C:WindowsSystem32Shutdown.exe' with the appropiate switches. This displays the windows shutdown warning to the users but nothing they can do about it.
What I was wondering if I create a seperate exe (or even better built into the service but I am not sure if this is possible) instead of the Service Calling 'shutdown.exe' it calls this form up to the user which states that we have requested a reboot etc but there is a 'Cancel' option. The Cancel can just end the form/program and nothing more, if the timeout that we specify is reached then that form/program then calls shutdown exe for an instant shutdown.
I know that the Service runs in a different user Space and we have no telling of who is logged on to that machine so I will need a way to just launch the form to any logged on users. Doesn't matter to much if there is no one logged onto the machine but if it does display this form while noone is logged on that is not a big deal.
I have an "application" that consists of a form Form1, with the following code behind it:
Public Class Form1 Dim xDown As Integer, yDown As Integer Dim g As Graphics = Me.CreateGraphics Dim p As Pen = New Pen(Color.Black, 1) Dim r As New Rectangle
I want to move cursor with visual basic and it seems I found way how to do that. It is possible even click with Visual Basic whereever on screen. But I cannot check out where on the screen the click was done and so I want to draw two short crossing lines on that point as marker where Visual Basic clicked on screen. If it is possible to move cursor to that position and show it then it is as good as drawing marker.
Can I draw my own shapes (such as a filled circle, square, etc.) on a form? Can it be done from code as well as from the designer? Can I use events such as onClick() on the shapes?
I want to draw a histogram when Form2 is loaded, I load Form2 using button of Form1 It didnt work, Form2 is loaded, but no image...i dont know why here's the code
Private Sub Form2_Paint(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.PaintEventArgs) Handles MyBase.Paint Dim img As Graphics = PictureBox1.CreateGraphics
On Form1 we have: TextBox1 TreeView1 - holds list of customers, is located near the bottom of the form, not visible from the start. Now, when I start typing text in TextBox1 (i need to filter customers), TreeView1 appears and suggest for example 30 customers matching the searched text. I want the program to show the treeview and draw it also outside of the Form1 boundaries.
