It will send a message to a chat you are in every 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, or 60 minutes (you get to pick the time)I would like it to add up the total time they are gone (in minutes)so if they are gone for 2 hours and they choose 30 it will add up in a label saying "60". and when you stop it, it will send a message saying "Back from idle gone for "time" minutes.And if I can, Can I convert the minutes into like instead of "gone for 60 minutes" it would be "gone for 1 hour" (if not that's fine, that is just and extra I would like)

I need a start date, a Total time passed until now, an average time per step, and a estimated time to finished. How can I do that? Also, I can close the application and when start up again I want to get the time counters as the last time, so How can I store that data is normal txt file (I say txt to take advantage of the ini app file which is a txt).

The web on adding TOTAL time, not just 7pm + 6pm etc. Essentially what I'm trying to do is add total time + lunch time. For example, 30:00 (30 hours) + 01:00 (1 hour) = 31:00 (31 hours). The input method is textboxes, which I'm willing to change if there's a better way;

txtTotalHours = 30
txtTotalMins = 00
txtLunchHours = 01
txtLunchMins = 00

I guess what I'm looking for is to take these strings, convert them to TIME and add them together. Theres a bit more to my project, but I'm sure if I can get this method down, I can figure out the rest. I can do this very easily in excel using [HH]:mm formatting.

I'm making a simple program. It is almost finish in a manner of simple function. But I have problems related to time, clock and calculating codes. I admit that this software based on cyber cafe management software. I try to make a new one and less complicated and easier to use for my shop.

I tried to googling and find some coding then try to apply it in but it won't working.

In some text boxes I enter times like "08:00 16:00" then another textbox next to it will display 8 hours then a label at the bottom calculates the total overall hours. There are a total of 7 textboxes for times entered and like the example above and another 7 for the calculation of that days hours worked. My problem is when I enter "08:00 16:30" the total hours in that text box would be displayed "8.5 hours". I need to tweak this so it is displayed 8 1/2 hours. My second issue is that the label that displays the overall hours only calculates if I enter times like "08:00 16:00" if i entered "08:00 16:30" it would not calculate

I want to create an application that able to calculate the total time the user (i.e. myself) spent on a particular application, for example Firefox. And this application should display warning message if the user spent a lot of time on Firefox (for example 1 hour or more)Reason: I'm a VB.NET developer. During my working hours, my main tool is Visual Studio and I suppose to do coding. But I need Firefox occasionally to access internet (particularly SO and other sites) to find solutions for my programming problems. The problem is I addicted to SO and SO sucks my time for hours until I have forgotten that I suppose to continue coding and not browsing the SO site.

The pay rates for the project are:

a. Level 1 - $10.00
b. Level 2 - $12.00
c. Level 3 - $14.00
d. Level 4 - $16.00
e. Benefit Deduction Rate - 0.10
f. Overtime Factor - 1.5

For ease of program maintenance, all of the above rates and factors must be stored in module level constants. All references to pay rates in the program must refer to the module level constants.

When the Calculate button is clicked:

a. The value in the Hours text box must be validated to insure that it is numeric value greater than zero.

1. If the value is not valid, a message box must appear as shown below and the user must be offered the option to continue processing or quit the program.

2. If the user chooses to continue processing, the focus must be set to the Hours text box.

3. If the user chooses to quit, the program must close immediately.

b. If the value is valid, the program must calculate and display the total pay in the Total Pay label.

1. The pay rate is determined by which Job Grade radio button is checked.

2. For hours less than or equal to 40, the total pay is the hours times the pay rate.

3. For hours greater than 40, the total pay is 40 hours times the pay rate plus the hours in excess of 40 hours times the pay rate times the Overtime Factor.

4. If the Full Time radio button is selected, the total pay must be reduced by the Benefit Deduction Rate.

5. The value displayed in the Total Pay label must be formatted with a dollar sign and with two decimal
places.

6. The focus must be set to the Hours text box.

Loop Through Top Level Folder In Mapped Drive And Give Total Count Of Files And Total?

I am working with VB 2008. I want to be able to run this program say in N: and it will show me in an excel sheet the following:

Folder Path Size(GB) Count of Files
N:Clients 0.53 308

where clients contains subfolders and files and the size is the total of all those files within each folder and the count is the total within each folder also.

This works fine as it is but i have to select one by one the top level folders and some of them are huge so it takes forever to give me an answer.

1) I would like to see in my spreadsheet the following by only select the network drive n:

Folder Path Size(GB) Count of Files
N:Clients 0.53 308
N:Software 10.7 15430
N:Billing 0.98 105

2) I would also like to know if this is the faster method.

3) I tried adding a progress bar so that the user can have an idea of how much this will take but i had to remove because it was not working.

4) I would like to see the folder name, size of folder and count of files in the listview.

I'm new to forums as well as new to VB 2008. I'm in process of making a order calculator which will total any values you selected in combo boxes/checkboxes and then display it in a selected area. There are 3 things that I want to achieve: 1. Be able to add another total to an existing total (currently I'm able to see only one total when I hit "Calculate" button)2. I'm working on a school project and need some help getting pointed in the right direction. The project is a lawn care application with 2 forms in which the user can select different services they want for their lawn. On Form1 I have 3 checkboxes the user can select: mowCheckBox , fertilizeCheckBox , and mulchCheckbox each with a different price. And nextButton to navigate user to Form2

On Form2 I have a listbox which shows the services the user selected, a totalLabel which will show the total dollar amount of the services, and a calcButton to calculate the total dollar amount.

The problem that I am having is being able to get the total dollar amount. If the user selects the mowCheckBox ($25) and the fertilizeCheckBox ($20) in Form1 I need the totalLabel in Form2 to show the total but cant figure out how to??

I'm about to pull my hair out with this program. I need the following program to keep a running total of the total amount due by a customer for books bought. The exercise required the use of a BookSale class with 3 attributes(a quantity,price,and total due) and 2 behaviors(a default constructor and method that keeps a running total). Here is the code for the class:

My problem lies in the program keeping a running total. The total due is displayed fine for each quantity and price but not the whole running total. For example,if I enter 1 as quantity and 2 as price and click the Add to Sale button,the Total Due value,which is $2.00,is displayed. However,if I change the quantity to 2 and price to 4,which comes out to $8.00,the $8.00 is not added to the existing $2.00. I feel like I'm missing something elementary and it's driving me crazy. I would work on it some more but it's already after 4 AM here and I need to get some sleep.BTW,this exercise is from a college textbook. However,this isn't an assignment that is due. I just got bored and decided to work on a chapter we didn't have time to get to.

I have an application that has 3 list boxes, one selects a workshop, the other a location. the third is to display selected costs.to do the calculation a loop is required. i have written the code but when i calculate the cost the final result to be displayed ends up as being the cost of the last work shop and location * 3,What is supposed to happen is the location is multiplied by the number of days(3 in this case) and added to the workshop cost.the loop is supposed to add all cost from the list box till all have been added.what is happening is the calculation goes to the last entry as stated the multiplys this total by number of days(dbl)?

VS 2008 Upload Files To Webserver From Time To Time?

I have a webserver and I upload files to my webserver from time to time. I have an ftp account which points to public_html that is main directory.

I though why give full access so I created another ftp account (e.g. test) which points to a specific folder. Now when I try to upload a file using test it fails.

For e.g.

the following code works:
My.Computer.Network.UploadFile("d:ok.txt", "ftp://mysite.com/Test/okay.txt", "main@mysite.com", "mainpw")

- this is because this a/c has access to root folder of website

now following code gives error -

My.Computer.Network.UploadFile("d:ok.txt", "ftp://mysite.com/Test/okay.txt", "test@mysite.com", "testpw")

The remote server returned an error: (550) File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access).

Well the ftp account test has been given access to a specific folder with the name "Test". So it should at least upload to that folder.

But if I use ftp client (like filezilla) then it works.

C# - Convert A Date And Time To UTC Time Based On The Time Zone Of The User?

I have an ASP.NET application with a SQL Server back end. I am storing all my dates in UTC format and doing the appropriate conversions to the local time zone of the browser viewing it. One of the pages asks for a start date and end date (no times).

I am taking the start date and setting the time to 00:00:00 hours (midnight) and I'm taking the End time and adding a time of 23:59:59, so that the date range covers the whole day. Now what I'm trying to do is do a SQL query to do a search for records in this date range. The problem is, the data in SQL is in UTC time and the user is typing their dates and times in their local date and times. My quickest solution was to convert the date and time to UTC, then search the records. However, by doing this, I am to believe ASP.NET converts the given time and date to UTC based on the server time zone. How can I convert a date and time to UTC time based on the time zone of the user?

I am developing a small application with VB 2008 and MS SQL 2005. For reporting using RDLC reports. Everything is going well except page wise total.I need page wise total on each page and each(all) page wise total should be displayed on last page. I need the report output like this.

Note : No. of rows/page are not fixed.For group Total I have used Sum function of rdlc table with scope table_Group2 & for Grand total I have used Sum function of rdlc in table footer with dataset scope.For page wise total I have used textbox in Report footer (=Sum(ReportItems!amt.Value). How to get page wise totals on last page again.
