I'm trying to figure how to click a URL in a page using a web browser control.I've already looped through all the links and pulled the one I need. Looking through the documentation on MSDN and Google, I haven't been able to find a way that clearly explains how to click a URL.

I'm new to visual basic & have learned many new things in such a short period of time from being on the MSDN forums. I have learned particularly in the subject of automating web browsing control using the getattributes etc., but I have tried everything that I have seen in the forums to auto click the "Settings" link in a created gmail account and then have the browser automate the "Forwarding" to another gmail address. I haven't found a solution anywhere to accomplish this.

I have a form with a Tab Control that has 18 pages. When I click on a tab it opens the page and select a textbox on that page (txtTextbox1. Select() ). This works for the first 8 pages but not for the remaining 10 pages. Although on these pages I can mouse click on the textbox, enter info, save then click my Add button that clears the textboxes and has the code (txtTextbox1. Select() ). The textbox is selected just fine. The code for all my pages is the same except for the tab name and the control names. The tab key will move the selection to the next textbox in order on all pages and the Enter key is coded to do the same. The first 8 pages have a total of 256 labels, buttons, list boxes, textboxes and checkboxes on them.
View 10 RepliesI have managed to automate the following page: https://post.craigslist.org/atl/S/msg/none/x and even click the "Continue" button, but I noticed that my vb 2008 program is creating an infinite loop and tries to click "Continue" buttons on following pages. I only want my program to click the continue button once, fill out more data on the next page and then click another continue button on a later page. But I need the following code to end on the first page before I can continue coding for the following pages so that the web browser doesn't go crazy.Here is the code that I am using and not sure if this is called an infinite loop, but that is what it seems to be doing:

I am using VB 2008.I've successfully "scraped" web sites before but I am having a problem now.I use a web browser component.I retrieve the test from the control and then I search the text for the information I am looking for.BUT, when I try to do this a website that displays its information in FRAMES, it does not work.The web browser correctly displays the page, but the text only includes text saying that I need to use a browser that can handle frames.I do not understand how the web browser control can correctly display the web page (including the info that I am looking for, but the text/source/document property of the web browser does not include all of the text on the page.

If I look at the webpage source, the hidden value is populated with an value. I think posting the value on to another page will fix my issue, but I want to avoid doing that.
Set URL And Click Link In IE Window, Not Browser Control
I was wondering if I had IE open, how can i set the URL within that browser? I do not want to use webbrowser control.

I would like for my program to navigate via textbox1.text with multiple lines and multiple url links inside of it. I know how to make the webbrowser1.navigate via textbox1.text with multiple lines, however I want my webbrowser to navigate to each url every 1-1.5 seconds once button1 is clicked. Yes, my webbrowser1 will navigate to the specified urls via the textbox1.text (multilines) with a button click, but I need the webbrowser1 to navigate in a order sequence from top to bottom of Textbox1.text (multiplelines) every 1 second. example, I have clicked on a button, the button event is carried out normally, but if I refresh the page by pressing F5 key the same event is fired again.
I am new to vb 2008, but I know how to automate some html elements. The issuse that I running into is that I cannot get my webbrowser1 to auto-click the "Gmail" button at the top left of the page or the "Show me my account" button on the righthand side of the webpage. None of them can be manipulated to fit my browser. When my browser first starts, there's an empty tab control. I put a new webbrowser in it at runtime and set it's dock to fill. I create new instances of the browser for new tabs as well. I just can't find how to make it open links in new windows.

View 1 RepliesI have made many web browsers that just navigate to a web page, I don't have any buttons or any thing like that as it is controlled via other software using shortcut keys etc.I have created a button in my other software that sends the keys strokes "Control" and "H" I can get this to navigate to a webpage by manually typing i the same page that it navigates to when the form loads, but this mean I have to type the address in twice for each browser I make. I first type the url for the browser to navigate to in the properties section in VB and this is nice and quick to type in each webpage and build quickly build a new browser for it. Currently I have to repeat that url in the browser_homebutton Private Sub, what I want to happen in the below Private Sub is that it navigates to what ever address is typed in the "URL" cell in properties of the browser. I have an asp.net website that is using update panels on the page that i cant get to reload from the server. I have this for the disable page cache on the master page.

When I click the browser back button to go back to the page it says the page has expired. the other pages on my web site work and call the page load, the only solution i found but cant use is to wrp the whole page in an update panel, but i cant do this becuase i have a report viewer on the page that does not work with ajax.

I'm working with windows forms application in vb.net 2008 express ed. I used openfiledialog to open all types of files in the computer. When I searched on the web I found out to use the web browser control so I used it and it did open a file in any types. I realized about using a web browser control to open a file that all images such as jpeg, gif, and bmp as well as text files are just being opened or browsed within the control. All I want to do and all I want to know is I want to open all the files separately from the control just like opening with excel, word and all types of video files which will be opened separately from the control and your application because I am hiding the web browser within the form since this is a winform application. If this possible, How would I do that? I would like also to know if there's any way to open a file without using a web browser control? If there's no way, I just want to know how to modify my codes by throwing a message box if the user attempts to open a text files and images.
