1) On one of my forms i have a richtextbox but whenever the programs ads something like richtextbox1.text = richtextbox1.text & "New Entry" The box goes back up to the top and you need to re-scroll down to the bottum. Is there anyway i can have it to always go to the bottum when something is changed instead of reverting back to the top. Because things are added almost every 1-2seconds until it gets to the point where you cant scroll down to read what was said before something new is added and it jumps back to the top.
If you dont know what i mean make a timer of 1 second that ads somethign to the textbox and youll see what im talking about.
2)Or better still is there anyway to get the program to recive new lines from the textbox. Basicly I have a textfile which is read by around 4-8 clients. I want each client to know what its read so it can process the textfile but i dont want it to say add something like ' to the start of every line its read and ignore all ' lines because then the other client will ignore it to. So what im looking for is a sub that will process the textfile and put any previous unread lines (previous unread lines that session [i.e since program restarted]) into a string array like newline(1)

I am currently puting together a data driven application just for fun and to get to know sql. The problem i am having is on my new customer form I cannot get the data in my text boxes to save into my database table at runtime. I simply have 4 textboxes and a save button the code for my save button is as follows:

First off, I'm using Visual Basic 2010. I've done pretty well with starting out with some basic things. Copying some codes from tutorials to learn what each code does. But lately I've been venturing into possibilities of ideas in my head, and the recent idea is very simple, but I'm not sure how to approach it.
I have a main form that has options to open up other forms. And in one of those other forms, I want to make it so that you can enter text into a textbox, then click a button to "save" the textbox's content so that anytime the program starts, that previously saved content of the textbox will be the same.
And on top of that, I want to relate the textbox back to the code in the main form.
If I didn't explain that well enough, I'm working on making an extremely basic web-browser (a big jump from what I've been doing), and I added the option under a menustrip to open up Form5 to change the home-page.

so i have a quite huge program. but lets say i have one label. and i want to save that. i have the code and everything for saving the text of the label. now i want to assign ctrl+s to automatically save the labels text once pressed instead of going through a menu to choose save.this is like a regular texteditor where u press ctrl+s and it saves.

I would like someone to show me how you would save the contents of "Listbox1" to a .txt file using the "Save As" Option. My question is simple (the answer may not be...), What I am looking for is a way to save a file as an encrypted file (so know one can open it except in visual basic or a way to save it with a unique ending that only visual basic will recognize. I will also need to know of a way to open or load the file to.
This is going to be used in a game I am working on (and yes...I know visual basic isn't really meant for games, but it is coming together pretty well). I was originally going to have it save as a text file, but then everyone could open, read it and even change there stats. I have found a way to build a playlist for it but it would be helpful if I could save the contents of TextBox1 to a text file without using the save as. I am trying to get over a user inputting a file name for the finished text file so is it possible to write the file c: est.txt without using the save as dialog? I have found that I can use a vbs program file which creates a playlist in a folder. I save the vbs file text to the textbox then save it as a vbs file in the playlist directory, then execute the finished file to make the playlist.
