I have a program developed on a machine with high display resolution. Now when I try to run it on a computer with low resolution, the screen got cut off. OK, is there a way to make the program working with different display resolutions?

I first inserted two buttons and named one "Generate" and the other "Exit" and then I put in a textbox. After that I put in the code and debugged it every time I pressed the Generate button a 0 just popped up in the textbox. my code is below.

I want my app shows ascii char. I find a ascii file over the net. seems it's encoding in cp437.
I use this to make it shows in my textbox. but without luck.
anyone got an Idea to makes it show up perfectly?

I had all types of problems before with my application size.On one computer it fits great, but on the net book the application is so big that it crashes it.For example lets say that this is my application running on a regular PC which has a 60 Cm screen This not my application. On my net book which has a 25cm screen it will look different and bigger. Can i some how have a application that is the same size. I think this is very possible to do. Kaspersky has the same feature and it works great.

This display looks great on my wide-screen (16:9) monitor, but it looks a little stretched horizontally on my wife's standard (4:3) monitor. Is there some way I can tell VB to automatically adjust the picture when a standard resolution is being used?
If not, am I correct in thinking that standard definition monitors are going the way of the dinosaur, much like is happening with TV's, and in the future we'll be seeing more and more wide-screen monitors.

View 3 RepliesI am working on an addin/plugin for CAD software called Solidworks. I use it to batch process files (print, save, etc). One thing I'd like to add is a form that contains a stop button to stop the loop. The problem is that even if I use a background worker like I normally would for a standalone application, it still locks up when Solidworks is processing files. That's just normal operation for the program, the UI freezes when doing a cpu intensive operation such as loading or saving files, regardless of how I write my plugin. So my limited attempts at threading to get a form that won't freeze have been unsuccessful so far.

As a last touch to this code I thought I would add a percent bar so it would look more professional. I did so with:

I am trying to make a calculator program. I would like the display(text box) to have a white background, with black font. So I set the "enabled" property of the textbox to "false"(because I want it to display, not receive input) and then choose the background colour to be white. In the form designer, the text colour is black, which is what I want.But when I start debugging, the text becomes the colour of the form. How can I make the font black?
