I'm creating 10 web browsers at runtime, they are all in WBS() array and i need "navigated" event for all of them with ability to identify sender. Either 1 event for this array or event for all web browsers and then i would just check it they are the ones from array.
How to Use an event inside an event but universal. I only want to trigger the textbox text changed inside the button click event.
Private Sub EditButton_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles EditButton.Click ' ' Insert textbox.textchanged Event ' End Sub
I'm trying to create an array of checkboxes dynamically and also want to put event to those checkboxes. For example: I have a array of checkboxes - Chk1, Chk2. I want it to work this way: When I check Chk1, I want to disable Chk2, and when Chk1 is unchecked, Chk2 is enable, and vice versa.
Until recently I have been using net 2005 with distributing an app which uses an access database with getting data using recordsets
I decided it was time to upgrade so I got net 2010 & started using ADO.net with a dataadapter.
To my dismay I have found that my app will not run on all platforms, ie XP, Vista 32 & 64 bit, Windows 7 32 & 64 bit From another question I have been told
"If compiled to target AnyCPU, your program will fail to run in an x64 environment if it utilizes any ODBC database driver. In this case, you must compile it to x86. Therefore, x86 is safer than AnyCPU."
Which I have found to be correct I am not familiar with all the options to open a database & the respective code required to extract/change the database data. I also don't understand the implications of using x86 cpu instead of any CPU
MY net 2005 apps have been working fine for the last 6 years (until W7 64 bit), so I want to develop an app that has the same lifespan without having to make variations to the build for specific platforms
I would like the answers to the following:
1. is x86 the new standard for specifying cpu & works on all platforms?
2. why does W7 64 bit have a windows & windows x86 system folder
3. why does my installer when "any CPU" is specified install it in the x86 system folder (W7 64 bit, even though the app fails when trying to open the database as outlined above)
4. which method of opening an access database is preferred which works on all platforms with a common cpu specified?
I have run across exam ples of how to create code for getting the universal naming convention for mapped drive in VB6 and access but that don't work in VB net.
I would like to create/use a system-wide independent universal 'counter object' that can be called via COM in a thread-safe manner. The counter object will be passed an ID to identify which counter to return, handle the counting, 'persist' the count (occasionally), have reasonable performance (as fast as possible) perhaps capable of 1000 counts per second or better (1mS) and be accessible cross-process/out-of-process. The current count status must be persisted between object restarts/shutdowns.
The counter object is liklely to be a 'singleton' type object implemented in some form of free-threaded dictionary, containing maybe 10 counters (perhaps 50 max). The count needs to be monotonic and consistent, (ie: guaranteed unique sequential values). Each counter should have a few methods, like reset, inc, dec, set, clear, remove. As a luxury, I would like to have a variable-increment (ie: 'step by' value). To support thread-safefty, perhaps some sorm of critical-section or mutex call. It just needs to return a long/4byte signed integer.
I really want something that can be called from anywhere, including VBScript, so I figure COM is my preferred solution. The primary use of this is for database keys. I am unable to use autoinc or guid type keys and have ruled out database-generated counting systems at this point.I've spent days researching this and I have really struggled to find a solution. The best I can find is a free-threaded dictionary object that can be instantiated using COM+ from Motobit - it seems to offer all the 'basics' and I guess I could create some form of wrapper for this.
I'm looking for a way to create PDF with dynamic content. When you google for it, you get 1000 hits on how to dynamicly create PDF's, but thats not what I mean.
I created a winform that display an item master in a DataGridView, bound with a DataView. Let's just say it has columns/fieldsitem_id item_name item_description I wanted to make a single text box that will be searched in all fields. So if any field in a row contains searched item, it will be displayed. My current idea is to create a DataView with RowFilter contains all rows such
With Button click i have to create dynamic 3 Labels in a Panel or panel. First Label show text from TextBox1. Second Label show text from TextBox2 And the last show date from DatetimePicker.
First problem: I have find some code to create one label but not 3 labels with different text each one. How to create this 3 different labels with different text? Each one under the previous. Second problem: When i create a label and close the form - Next time when i open again the form none label has saved. The Panel is clear. How to save that dynamic created labels?
here is the deal, imagine that i've a fullscreen form, and when clicking on a button, it will create a new control, a control that could be selected and moved. I know that they are dynamic controls, but anyone know how to make them with the specific things i've said? A kind of dynamic controls allowing drag & drop to another position.
Basically i have one TabControl with a form and 2 browsers within one form I have ProBlem To call the dynamic browser to navigate with dynamic Textbox.text
I have a page that contains dynamically generated Dropdown List controls and I want thant the dynamic dropdown list perform an AutoPostback to fill some other field using the value selected.[code]Control is correctly filled and rendered on ASP page but, after selecting a value, the page is reloaded (AutoPostBack is called) but the control is not diplayed and the sub is not called. I put a breakpoint into the ChangeValue sub but anything happens.I read on some post that handler for the first DropDownList is not necessary but, how is it possible to tell DropDownList to call my sub after changevalue?
I'm trying to create Command Buttons dynamically, but clicking the button in question doesn't seem to raise the corresponding CommandButton_Click event. I noticed that in the examples on SO a property is set for Button.OnCommand as well as the CommandName and CommandArgument but it isn't an option in intellisense.(code below without the OnCommand), is it accessed in some other way - if so, why do the examples I've found all show it as .OnCommand?
EDIT: Further to help, I have added the handler however the event is still not firing. The buttons reside in an UpdatePanel and are rebuilt on every postback (along with the handler). I have created a simplified example of what I'm doing which is shown below If the button event fires, it writes "EVENT FIRED" to the txtTestFired Textbox - suffice to say I have never seen that.
I am trying to create a form where depending on what the user selects, they are shown a collection of images from the web. Depending on what they select there will be a different amount of images so each picture will need to be added dynamically.
I am able to create PictureBoxes dynamically however I'm stumped how to create event handling in order for each control to give a unique response. This is what I originally tried but I got an error..
Private Sub Form1_Load For i=0 To 10 Dim picBox As PictureBox
[code]....
The error I got was
'AddressOf' operand must be the name of a method (without parentheses)
How ridiculous that you can't include arguments in your AddressOf! Can anyone shed some light on my situation (or knows a better way of carrying out my goal)?
I'm creating a dynamic gridview in vb.net using a connected sql database. Everything works fine except 1 thing: when i click the update command, the event just won't fire no matter what I do. the gridview goes into edit mode and the cancel button works fine. This has cost me over 2 days of googling but none of the solutions work. I used breakpoints to check if the code was executed, but it wasn't. If anybody has any experience in this:I believe the problem lies in the addhandler but it doesn't give any errors.I forgot to mention that the sql command was a test and sets the data in that field to 15, now it's 10, it works when i use a normal button or a static gridview.
Public Class WebForm1 Inherits System.Web.UI.Page Dim rowscount As Integer = 2
I am trying to display ImageButtons dynamically, which I have been able to do. I also want an event to fire when I click on those dynamic ImageButtons. I have the dynamic controls loaded in an ArrayList. I am able to have an event fire for all of the dynamic ImageButtons in the ArrayList except the first ImageButton in the ArrayList. Here is my code below (I tried to include only the relevant code):[code]
Im trying to set a background image for my Form. The problem is that the form contains textboxes, groupboxes, labels and panels, so I have to manually set the picture for each type of objects. That looks weird though because you can tell that the same picture has been placed a lot of times for each object. Is there a solution to this?
The connection string generated by VB only works for my computer because of the path and even tho within the program I used paths which only include the name of the file i need to load when i do that with the DB it doesn't works.
This is the message i get: An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file Database1.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share.
I've created some dynamic controls on page load and added an event handler to handle the click event of a dynamic link button. Within the sub of the click event handler, I need to reference some other (non-dynamic) controls on the page and change their value. However, I get a null reference exception - object not set to an instance of an object - each time I try to reference a control on the page (in this case label1). What am I doing wrong in creating these dynamic controls or with my event handler?
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load 'Get the data to populate the controls
For i as integer 1 to dt.rows.count dim subpan as new panel *Code for creating panel" Next
the problem is i need to be able to add event handlers to each of them including, click, mouseEnter and mouseLeave but i can't figure out how to index each panel so that they can be accessed and identified. i tried using a property but that didn't seem to work or i was doing it wrong.
A While back I developed a application that connected to Excel using DB connection. It worked fine since the application was designed for usage on one particular PC with Excel 2003. I especially liked the solution since the data retrieval was much faster compared to what I would get if I connected to Excel using Interop libraries.
However, recently when I tried to implement the same solution onto another app that would run on various PC that could use different versions of MS Office I ran into multiple problems. First of all, I can't use the same connection string on various versions. Also, the whole x64 vs x86 thing is adding to the problem.
I wonder if there is a way to check the version and use the apropriate connection string for every version?
