Basics Details: VS 2010 Making an Addin for Excel 2010 Win 7
Problem:I am not getting the cursor (4 arrowheads) for moving the form.I am using the Panel1_MouseHover to display the cursor. Right now if I choose any other cursor then it is working but the same cursor also displays when I hover the mouse over any other control. I want the cursor to show only in the areas of the Panel where there are no controls. How do I show Tooltips for the images? The play, stop, next, previous, playlist,Hideme(with the smiley),volume are all images and not buttons?
I was just wondering I heard you can get an on-screen help system, a friend said you can change this in the settings or whatever and when running your application you hit F10 or another key and it will come up with an on-screen help system.
I have a very wired problem. I have a txtbox which i attempt to act like a password box (ie. everything you type becomes ****)
I use a simple counter that just shows a * for each time the text is changed. However the "typer" wount follow, it just stays in the beginning. so the result is that the code is spelled backwards.
I use the following code. try it for yourself if you dont understand
There are 15 check boxes in a form. User wants to use tab key and space bar to make checking. The problem is when user hits tab key, there is no cursor moving.I want to add gotfocus and lostfocus to make backcolor changing for check box.
i am having problem regarding focusing datagrid cursor at specified column.[code]which means that when i click on button labeled GOTO then cursor in datagrid moves to 3rd column in datagrid. but when i use the following code [code]i get an logicle error which says some thing like column name "CompanyName" not found.but when i checked my access file column named with CompanyName exists.
I have a VB form with 2 comboboxes and a textbox in which a user can type into.I would like my mouse cursor to move from my 2nd combobox selection directly over to the textbox that I have on a VB form.2nd comboboxe name: "CodeComboBox"Textbox name where I would like my cursor to move to after the selection:"USDOTNumtxt"I use the TextBoxName.Focus() in the SelectedIndexChanged but it doesn't function.
Here is my whole code: Public Class Form1 Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles
I have created a form with a menu-strip containing sub-menus. The sub-menus will open on clicking the menu items but I am willing to display the sub menus on moving the cursor on menu items(mouse-hover). What will be the code for this? Is there any property in menu-strip to display like that?
For a touchscreen oriented application, i have an onscreen keyboard that can operated by both the hardware keyboard, or via touchscreen/mouse. The user needs this keyboard a lot, but. Because it has so much buttons, it loads really slow and takes about a second to finally display.
My Onscreen keyboard is of type dialog, and its background is set to the transparency key. Once the form is there it works really well. the problem is the 1 second loading time, this can be pretty frustrating when you need to edit like 20 things. Is there any way to preload the keyboard dialog and make it popup instantly?
I am finally making the move to vb.net after having supported VB6 apps all this time. I have been learning vb.net 2010 but am finding it difficult to find relevant information on the COM aspect. In VB6 COM was the dominating feature of the language, however, I can't seem to find relevant information on what has happened to COM in vb.net, does it still exist in vb.net, does it work in the same way or are apps designed in a different way in .net to do away with COM dll's?
I'm trying to set a new cursor position but I get this error: A call to PInvoke function 'mon! WindowsApplication1.Form1::SetCursorPos' has unbalanced the stack. This is likely because the managed PInvoke signature does not match the unmanaged target signature. Check that the calling convention and parameters of the PInvoke signature match the target unmanaged signature.
Here is the code: Declare Function SetCursorPos Lib "user32" _ (ByVal x As Long, ByVal y As Long) As Long SetCursorPos(457, 603) It used to work when I used VS 08 but now I use VS 10 and this problem has started to appear.
Lets say I have 10 text boxes (named, txtbox1 - txtbox10), and I have a timer and a button. Each time I click the button, it records a time. Instead of having to manually create a code to input times for each textbox separately, is there a way I could use an integer and a loop type code? [code] I know this is pretty much an easy question for an experienced coder, and I know that the code above doesn't work.
This VS010 solution is not providing my intended outcome as a custom override of a 'crosshair' or 'reticle' cursor e.Graphics.DrawPath() is the function that isn't working. This
WORKING solution demonstrates how it's supposed to work. The additonal PictureBox added to a Panel is, for reasons I don't understand, not allowing the 'new' cursor to appear.
Option Explicit On Option Strict On Imports System.Drawing
I know how to get the cursor position but how do I add a character to that position. Like I want to have a button that adds a specific character at the position of the cursor.
I don't see any richtextbox properties that allow me to add anything at the cursor position.
If TypeOf Me.ActiveControl Is RichTextBox Then Me.ActiveControl.SelectedText = Chr(176) End If
I am using the code ol' Formless posted in this thread:[URL]..To load an animated cursor from a file. The code makes use of an API method that requires that the file actually exist. That's possible, but far from ideal. I would rather add the cursors to the resources of that module. Therefore,
How to make custom cursor for my application from image file .jpg or .png or .gif to work on everything, clicking on buttons, textfields the cursor to be on everything
I created a custom cursor ("Cursor.cur") and added it to the 'Resources' folder of my project. I'm trying to set it up so that this cursor is shown when button1 is "mouse down". Here is the code...
I have a user control, and want to be able to update its cursor while it is disabled. For example, say that I have a user control whose cursor is Default. The below code works ONLY when the user control is already enabled; if it is disabled the below code doesn't work and the cursor remains Default: Me.MY_USER_CONTROL.Cursor = System.Windows.Forms.Cursors.WaitCursor
I am working on a project that I want to allow the user to move and resize controls in a panel container at runtime, much like the developer can do in the IDE.Is there a mode (not sure its the right term) I can implement on a selected control that will show the grab handles and allow moving and such?
I maked application which can add few picture boxes on form. But there is a problem.veryone picturebox is called pb and i can move only latest added picturebox. Here is the video about that
Dim pb As PictureBox Dim street As Integer = 0 Dim pbloc As New Point(0, 0)

Private Declare Function SendMessage Lib "User32" _ Alias "SendMessageA" (ByVal hWnd As Long, _ ByVal wMsg As Long, _
I am using the following code to move a label at runtime when I mousedown on it and drag it, but how can I make it move freely and randomly around the form without any human intervention?
Private Sub label2_Mousedown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles Label2.MouseDownIf e.Button = Windows.Forms.MouseButtons.Left Then
In my program I have a picturebox. using the .onEnter and .onLeave events for the mouse I have the cursor change to a cross (one of the default cursors) and it does like a transparent grayscale thing and changes color a bit depending on what is behind it. The issue with that is that all the images I look at are grayscale images so it gets a bit lost. I am wondering if there is a way to use this default cursor and apply a different color to it?
