but when i send it it removes the ?, & out of the text, how would i make the string keep the & and ?
I'am trying to set up a Form With 4 Buttons "Per Say" And A Browser If You Click Button1 Google Home Page Will Show Up Button 2 Yahoo will come up etc etc..

I have a small program that contains a webbrowser object, 2 labels, and 3 listboxes. For some reason, whenever I try to hit Debug, it gives me the following error:

I've been able to click buttons normally by [code]But I'm up against this class:button_link within a DIV which is giving me grief. It won't getelementbyId using send_button and it's not in a form.[code]So I'm looking for a way to click a button within the DIV.

View 7 RepliesSo I've made a program in VB 2010, and it has three comboboxes and a button to view. Now lets say my first combobox is "Type of website". The options are "search engines", "social networking" and "news". The second combobox values would depend on what the first combobox value is selected, like if it was "news" the options would be "technology", "uk", "us", and "world".
The third combobox would then use the values in the first and second comboboxes to give even more values, for example if it was "news" and "technology" the values would be "engadget" etc. Then the view button would open the selected website in an internet browser. How would I code this?

View 1 RepliesI have a parent form that has a list of items and each item has a unique ID. The user can open one or many of the items in a child form (it is set up in a tabbed MDI), but it can only open one instance of each item at a time.
In the parent form, I was going to make a collection (or something like that, maybe there is a better way) to keep track of which items are open in the child forms. I need to know when each child is closed so that it can be removed from the collection and reopened at a later time. I was thinking that when the child form closes, it somehow does something (like raise an event) that tells the parent form to remove the unique ID from the list of current open child forms.
My questions are, is this a good way to do this and I am pretty sure I would use the form closed event in the child form to update that parent form, but as well, I didn't know if this is the best way of handling it.
If raising the event is a good way, are some examples on how to do it out there? I found some for controls, but not while the form is closing/closed.

Im tring to send 4 strings from a windows form to a webpage (aspx)I need to be able to send special chars, like æ ø å, from win form to aspx,process string, and send back a response.I also need to be able to store that string in a readable format so i can see the special characters.The win form only needs to receive a string and not a complete html page with body and stuff, only the string.Likewise the aspx page only need to receive the string maybe formated like var1=string1&var2=string2 etc.I have tried so many diff things and apparently im missing something.
I have tried with webclient.request, webclient.uploadvalues, webclient.uploadstring, streamwriter and it always get mixed up so my specialcharactes end up like ??? or some boxes.How would i do this? What do i need to declare and how, both on the client windows from and aspx.

i'm trying to do away with webbrowsers (IE required) from my vb project.
also whats a better alternative to ie browsers in vb.net, i been looking at gecko but people say it requires you to include 16mb+ worth of files?!?
there must be a way to include browser functionality, without the end user required to have IE Browser?
i have my code until now,like a set-up file.First when i click on my button it sends me to the form with the setup steps,when in setups it is copying a identical file into the startup menu.I want my button to check if i have that file into the startup folder,if i dont have it to send me to the setup if i have it to send me to the form with the program.I must mention that there are 2 forms,the setup form and the form with the program.Until now i tried this,but it dosent work so well...

I was just wondering how I could send commands to a tabbed browser. Such as navigation. I know of webbrowser1.navigate, but that will not work with the tabbed browser. I would also like to use an commands to automatically login. But I am not sure how I could do that in a tabbed browser either. Webbrowser1.document.getelementbyid does not work for this.
View 2 Repliesam trying to find out is there any way to create a web browser in a vb.net aspx page rather a vb.net form. I have looked on the internet they all seem to be on a form and not a website. The reason I want it on a website is so that i can view other website pages on the website that I am creating for holding game information. At the moment, my project has a method
do_quote(quoteid,userid)
This method take a minute or two, and then redirects to another page.
This has been rewritten so that it now runs in the background and redirects to another page whilst the thread which do_quote is on continues. - This works fine.[code]...
What i would like is to send a notification to the browser when do_quote finishes. Ideally i'd like to change the text of a div on the masterpage(but just returning an ALERT javascript msgbox would be a start).
As far as i understand, Callback is called at the end of the process, so i think this would be an ideal place to send javascript to the browser, but i can't think how i could implement this. Does anyone have any ideas on how i could implement a very basic notification (msgbox, response.write etc.) to the browser when the Callback method is called at the end of the process?

When I run this 'result' list is populated with the results of the two queries in XML but I am unsure how I can send this list to the browser in JSON. I am using asp.net MVC.
I am trying to send keys to a control on my form. But I am getting a NullReferenceException and I don't know why. The code is about as basic as it gets: [Code] The error reported is object reference not set to an instance of an object but Send is a shared method so doesn't need an instance. Strangely if I ignore the error it works fine and F4 is passed to the control. I know there was an issue with sendkeys and UAC but I thought this had been solved (I am using 4.0 framework).

I have some vb.net code which should print out labels using Teklynx LabelView software (which I've had working before.)Problem is, it runs fine on Dev machine, but when I run it on the end user's PC, I don't get any error messages until it completely dies with the "Send error report to Microsoft" message.

I have a button, and when I click that button, I want it to close the current form, and then open the new form.Here's the code I have so far:

It closes the current form, and then Form1 only shows for about a quarter of a second. (Appears then disappears really quickly). At least I think that's what it's doing.
