I just found out that I have a bigger problem than i thought.. anyway.. it's with my app.config. It started with my main program that im almost done with but now its acting up and now it's everything.

View 7 Replieswhen I open my project in VS 2010 (File - Open Project - *.vbproj) my project loads just fine. I can run it just fine. But, when I change something -anything at all- and run the project, nothing is changed. I can even save, close and reopen the project with the new changes, but it still runs the old version.
For example: I open the project, with Form1 that has 3 buttons. I run the program and I get Form1 with 3 buttons. I stop running, add button 4 and hit play... I get Form1 with 3 buttons.I save the project, close it and open it again. My Form1 design shows 4 buttons. But when I start it, there are only 3 buttons...It must be something inside the project, cause this happens on 3 different PC's where I have VS 2010 installed.

I using unit testing, to ensure that I can read connect string information from the ConnectStrings section of my app.config file. This works fine in the application proper, However when I attempt to generate a unit test for this under the Test Project, the dll.config file is being ignored, and the connectstring info from the machine.config file is being retrieved instead. I have a Class Library project with a appSettings.config file included into the project. The file is not embedded. So I have a ClassLibrary.dll with a appSettings.config beside in the bin.I have another project which is a Web Service. It has a reference on ClassLibrary.dll with a Copy Local=true. When I build the Web Service, the ClassLibrary.dll is brought into the bin of the Web Service. However, the .config doesn't follow.Do I need to do some postbuild event to copy the .config file or there is another setting I can set?

Dear Friends: I have some files in 1 folder directory that show "XML Configuration File" under type. But none of these files show the extension .config. The directory filesare like C0150,C0150_new,C0200,C0200_new etc. I need to change only 1 attribute of each of these files. I need to write a VS.Net project to do this. I have to send the .exe file(from bin directory of this VS.Net project) to my client and they will just double click the .exe file and it will change that attribute in all the .config files.

I have developed a vb.net app with MS access as back end db.when i installed exe on client's machine, it gives error that it couldn't find the db file on client's machine, even though i have changed the connection string in app.config file after the installation. What i have found out is that when a dataset is created at development time and whatever the address is at that time , that is the address it looks for at client's machine.

I'm trying to make a application that allows the person to script config files for an open game server project so they don't have to do it manually... I'm starting with 3 groups. Those groups are "NPC NAMES", "MONSTER NAMES", and "MONSTER WALK POSITIONS"... I want the user to be able to add as many items to the group as they want... Right now I'm using a listbox, but its very messy... I want the user to be able to add items to these groups, and then add the items of each group to a .txt file.

I know I am supposed to use "ASPNET" in following command for XP. My test server is WIndows server 2007 and following command gives me an error. "No mapping between account name and security IDs was done." I know ASPNET is not the default application pool on the server. What command should I use on the server?
