I am studying HND software developement, in this course we use VB6, I have managed to run it just fine for a few months, now all of a sudden I get this error. No one in my class is able to help, not even the teachers.
error while trying to run project: unable to start debugging the version of clr.dll in the target does not match the one mscordacwks.dll was built for.
When i try to save my program an error pops up telling me that it cannot debug because some sort of file is missing... While my other projects just work, and while i repeat the same steps (placing an entity like a button, coding it), it just shows that error. Its really strange!

I just installed VisualStudio 2010 Express and Windows phone SDK 7.1. I downloaded Phonegap 1.4 and added the PhoneGapStarter to the projectTemplates folder. When I hit new project I get the Phonegap icon. When I double click it to start a new project I get this error:

Has anyone else had issues with Visual Basic 2010?My visual basic program has been running fine for months but recently every time I try and load a project (any project) the program freezes, then I have to close it down and reload, every time I load Visual basic for the second time I get the following error:

Document load is being skipped during this solution load in order to avoid that error.Plus when trying to run a project in debug it takes ages to load (around 5 minutes) this has only started happening recently, projects were loading in seconds.

How do I fix this error in Visual Studio? "The project file cannot be loaded. The application for project ... is not installed" I have copied a whole project onto my PC, both into My Documents/Visual Studio and into inetpub/wwwroot, but when I try to open the project in Visual Studio, it tries to open just 1 file .vssproj and gives me error messages, like : "The project file cannot be loaded. The application for project ... is not installed.". What am I doing wrong? The VS edition is 2005 as are all the projects aI am trying to load.

He wrote it as a standalone tool, but it works even better as an includable dll, though it needs a bit of other functionality for it to be a really good drop-in component. What I am wondering is whether a project can be compiled as both an exe and as a dll?
There are alternatives, such as having a dll version and an exe version, since the dll version needs to include a few different methods that the exe version doesn't need, but this alternative sucks, since it would mean changing two sets of code.
Another alternative is to build the dll, then change the exe to be a project that references the dll....and does nothing other than calling one method in the dll. That kind of sucks, too, but not as bad.
I want to be able to use his module in some of my programs, and it really should be built as a component rather than a standalone app, but I want to know whether there are other options that I haven't considered.
I have 2 projects, one built in VB.NET and another in C#.NET. I want to use certain functionality of VB.NET into C#.NET and hence I have added the dll file of VB.NET solution into C#.NET as a reference by browsing the dll from my system. Say dll name for VB.NET is myData.dll. In my C#.NET project I am trying to declare it as a namespace i.e. "using myData;" and its giving me an error of "Type or namespace name could not be found"

The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. View 5 RepliesI have a VB.NET project in Visual Studio 2010 for an Excel Add-In.I use the "My" namespace,and in general it seems that the "My Project" folder contains configuration information about the project.My problem is that I need to change the name of this folder, because my version manager system won't accept spaces in file or folder names.Edit: There is a hacky way to do it, by renaming the folder and changing all references in the .vbproj file.However, the may work for a command line generation, but it won't work the next time the project will be opened in Visual Studio. The IDE will create a new "My Project" folder, and complain that it can't find the settings in it.
View 3 RepliesThe situation: when i build my project (or publish) Visual Basic 2010 makes and exe and a couple ddl files. when i run the project with the .exe and the other files the program works perfectly.
My problem: I want to share it with friends and it is just a verry little program ( a n internet radio) so i want it to be 1 .exe with out any other instalation needed so i can easly share it to anyone who wants it. when i make an even smaller program and Debud->build it, it is only 1 exe and no instalation needed. so is there a way to make my program to 1 exe only?
well until a few day ago. I don't know what I have introduced to cause the problem but now, whenever I load the project, VS 2010 (SP1) crahes. If I delete the project's suo file, the project loads (really quickly) and all is well until I exitVS 2010. When I re-run it and try to load the project, it crashes again unless I delete the suo file.The program can be built for x64 and x86. Now, when I reload the project (after deleting the suo file), it comes up in Debug - Any CPU mode. I can change from Debug to Release and from Any CPU to x86 but if I try and change from x86 to x64, VS 2010 crashes.This is not always the case though. If I build the x86 version and then switch to x64, all is well and I can build the x64 version. Obviously, there's something wonky going on.

the line "dataAdapter.Fill(dataSet,"Address") " will cause an error when the program is run. "Syntax error in query. Incomplete Query Clause." is the error shown. If I comment that line out the program runs perfectly. Everything that I have seen (and gone by as a tutorial for Database work) has shown that line of code working fine. have I missed something?
When I try to add item -> select Database -> this is my error: <cannot open log for source 'vbexpress' , you may not have write access>I have checked my permissions under the security tab for each poss program SQL2008 and VB.Net 2008 Express, also have opened the VB.Net Express as admin, none of these fix it.

I have a project that will run while I'm working on it only once. The second time I try to run it I get the following error.
The operation could not be completed. The process cannot access the file
Does anyone know what that error means and why I'd have to restart my computer every time I want to run the project a second time?
