I'm trying to create a program that allows for the viewing of HTML code, either by copy and pasting, importing from the web, or opening a file. I'm trying get an HTML file to open (clicking "open" from menu) as a mdi child form, but I'm completely stuck on how to do it.

X.Designer.vb and X (a .net managed resource file) (X is the name of the project) How do I open up the project again so I can continue editing it.

The Select statement should work fine but the path to the file i want to open doesnt. Id love a way to reference the Pnt_GuideLat Cerv directory based on where my program gets installed on the Hard drive.
I created a program that processes files on a nightly bases for the company I work for. These files are used on a daily basis and very often a file is left open by a user and it causes my program to error out and not finish running. My program needs delete access to these files.
I need 1 of 2 solutions.
1. I need somehow add a check to see if a file is in use and if it is just skip it.
2. I need to make my program automatically force close the files on the users. (note that these are shared by one computer, I can put the program on the computer that the files reside so that it has access to close them out.)

However, I don't want to give my application any playback features itself, as there are already so many media players around. Surely this must be possible? You can open multiple files in windows itself simply by selecting them and opening them at the same time. I'm pretty sure the filenames of the selected files will then be in the arguments of wmplayer so that it can open them, but I just don't know in what format.

It closes the current form, and then Form1 only shows for about a quarter of a second. (Appears then disappears really quickly). At least I think that's what it's doing.

What I am wanting to do is create a program that will load up a page (it is password protected) and get the links out of any files that I need to download. The green text is the text that contains the link and will be repeated for every file.One little thing is that there are multiple pages that are accessed through JavaScript with the code highlighted in red. So, I also need to step through the pages and get a list of all files on subsequent pages.
Everytime I run this program, it will get a list of all files and only download the ones that aren't already downloaded. However, I have never done this before and was wondering what I need.I have accessed the source of pages and parsed it for things like links before, but not sure if that is the optimal way or if there is some other way to handle this particular situation easier, especially since I have multiple pages to deal with and JavaScript.
I am trying to program my application in VB.Net so that when a user goes to my 'FTP Out' page, the page straight away loads with a list of the files that are on my FTP site.I know I will have to get a connection going with my FTP site but how do I actually go about getting the list of details to show on my form?

View 5 RepliesI am trying to create a sort of code library in visual basic where the form displays a list box of certain project files in vb that i have made in the past and when clicked, launches the .exe files of those visual basic program project files.I know it does not work the same way as writing/ reading text files to vb and it seems as simple as 'on click, launch .exe of selected string "vb program 1" and so on. I am having trouble getting started on this one. Im sorry I cannot provide any starter code bc I only have a basic understanding of in/out text files which wont work the same way with .exe

Unfortnately, I cannot get it to work for more than one file.
System.Environment.GetCommandLineArgs() contrains the following:
System.Environment.GetCommandLineArgs(0) = name and path to the .exe
System.Environment.GetCommandLineArgs(1) = name and path to the first file selected to be opened
System.Environment.GetCommandLineArgs().Length is 2 when the user tries to open 1 file, which makes sense since the first argument is the .exe itself and the 2nd is the path to the file, but it does not increase to 3 if the user tries to open 2 files... meaning that System.Environment.GetCommandLineArgs(2) is never populated Here is some sample code that shows the problem: It will recognize no files or 1 file being opened, but if you try to open multiple it will only show the first.

The problem is that if I save a file I get "myfile.GDL" if I overwrite that I get a new file "myfile.GDL.GDL" ect.the other problem being that the filtering in the windows save/open dialog wont show .GDL files unless I select "all files".
