WPF: Change Value Of All Textboxes Nested Inside Expanders In A Stackpanel
May 30, 2012
This is my first time using WPF. It has been a bit of a nightmare, but I've done enough of the project that I now don't want to start all over again with a forms application.
My problem is this: I have 50 textboxes inside an expander, which in turn is inside a stackpanel. I need to store the value of each textbox in an array. In forms I would probably do it something like this (I am using vb.net by the way):
Dim i As Integer
Dim values() as string
For i = 0 To 49
values(i) = form1.Controls("TextBox" & i).text
Next i
(Assuming my textboxes were named Textbox1, Textbox2, Textbox3 etc.)
How can I do this in WPF? I've tried using Trees (I think they're called?) but have failed every time and now given up.
Oh, I also forgot to mention that there are also other controls in the expander (labels that are paired with the textboxes).
I'm new to WPF and a beginner to VB.NET. I try to teach myself and I only post on forums when I've tried and searched threads and come up empty.I'm pretty sure I need to use a For Each loop, and I can do this when moving/deleting etc. files in a directory, but not for going through controls. I can do it "easily" with an If Then statement
I have a DataList inside another DataList. I want to access the child DataList "dlQuestion" events, ItemDataBound event. Also, I'm tring to find the control LableControl "lblQuestion" in the child datalist. How do I do that? Here's the mark-up:
I have a WPF window with a TreeView that contains a checkbox at each node. I want to be able to capture the state of the checkboxes but I don't know how. (I am trying to do this without writing much of the code in XML)
I am making an invoicing application. I have a label (lblCost) inside of a UserControl (InvoiceEntry) inside of a FlowLayoutPanel (pnlEntries). InvoiceEntry represents a line item on the invoice, and pnlEntries is the "body" of the invoice. pnlEntries can hold several InvoiceEntry controls.
I am attempting to sum all of the lblCost values from each InvoiceEntry control to make a subtotal, and I want that subtotal to change automatically if costs are changed (e.g., a change in quantities being ordered). Is there a way to handle when the lblCost.Text property of any of the InvoiceEntry controls contained within pnlEntries changes?
InvoiceAdd.vb:
' Instantiate objects of the various database interaction classes. Private mCustomer As New Customers Private mItem As New Items
[URL] I'm trying to do an exercise on that website but it doesn't show the answers to the exercises..
I've gotten everything to work except one thing. I can't get the right numbers inside the textboxes! I've been sitting here for like an hour trying to use a case statement.. it didn't work for me so I tried to use if then statements and I still couldn't get it to work!
Here's my code for that part: Ignore the second if I was desperate xD Private Sub btnSubmit_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnSubmit.Click
[Code].....
And for the Case statements, if I wanted to use it for a range of numbers, do I write "Case 1 To 10" and that's numbers between 1 and 10? Is that right?
I've got the following issue: I want to make my program change the Backcolor property of all textboxes inside a TabControl. The problem is that one of the Tabs has got another TabControl in it, and I need to change those too.I'd like to to it all at once, but I'm getting an error using this code.
vb.net For Each SpeechTextBox As TextBox In TabControl.Controls SpeechTextBox.BackColor = ColorFondoTablasUSE[code].....
The error I get says this:
System.InvalidCastException was unhandled
Message="Unable to cast object of type 'System.Windows.Forms.TabPage' to type 'System.Windows.Forms.TextBox'."
I read somewhere in the forum how to make this work, but I can't find it.
Using VB.NET, Is there a way to do this RegEx call in 1 step... instead of 2-3? I'm trying to find the word "bingo", or whatever is between the START and END words, but then also inside the inner FISH and CAKES words. My final results should be just "bingo".
Dim s1 As String = "START (random string) FISH bingo CAKES (random string) END"
I have a ListView bound to an ObservableCollection of CustomerContacts. It works great so far, but being new to this, I'm not sure how to do the next part. Each customer contact has several contact types, which I want to display under their name.
So inside of CustomerContacts I have another ObservableCollection of ContactTypes. Here is my current datatemplate: <DataTemplate x:Key="iconTemplate">
I am using a gridview in my form.aspx page. The textboxes in each row of the gridview are to be populated from a datagrid upon clicking a particular field of the datagrid
Can you add values inside textboxes that are located in tables in Visual Basic 2008?
I put a TableLayoutPanel on a form and inside the Table I put textboxes. Outside the table there is a button. The whole point of the program is so that the user inputs numerical values inside the textboxes and then hits the button and the answer comes out in another textbox. But its not working. It worked when I didn't put my textboxes inside the TableLayoutPanel.[code]...
[Code] Somewhere my system haves a function that returns a DataSet with the books of a certain subject and all the Authors that wrote such books. I need to show the book's attributes in some textboxes inside a Form. I use a BindingSource to display the ISBN, Name and Subject of the books in a textbox, yet I don't know how to display the author name of the book I am currently viewing in a TextBox, taking into account I already fetched the Author into the DataSet.
Its pretty much the Child/Parent display problem somewhere discussed in the codebank, but kinda backwards, the thing is that I;m navigating through the CHILD records here, not the parent, yet i have all the data needed in my Dataset.
I have good model (I think!) for how to allow a user to drag an element in a stackpanel and reposition it to another location within the stackpanel. However, my Stackpanel is placed within a ScrollViewer, like this (generalized):
how to change multiple textboxes without calling each specific name. I have about 10 textboxes and would like to change their maxlength based on the following conditions.
1- If the user select decimal i would like to limit the maxlength to 3 on all the 10 textboxes at once versus individually changing each textbox maxlength.
2. If the user select hexadecimal i would like to limit the maxlength to 2 on all the 10 textboxes all at once.
I had problem with one textbox (texbox were third in row but while you used TAB it were as last), so I recreated all buttons in right order, but now it is totally wrong, when I click TAB it goes to first textbox, again TAB and it goes to 7th in ROW !instead to second in row :/ Weird thing is that I created all those textbox in row so 1 text box -> 2nd textbox etc. so I thought TAB will just go in order of creation, but it's not.How can I rearrange order of focus on text boxes while you using TAB ?? All those txt boxes has Tab Index = 23...
I have a text file to be read and match the matching line and write all the matching line in new file. I can do until that. This is my code for that.[code]...

I am trying to change 2 textboxes so that they show the current list view selection. When I click to change the selection the program crashes. Here is my code:
Private Sub BookmarkListing_ItemSelectionchanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.ListViewItemSelectionchangedEventArgs) Handles BookmarkListing.ItemSelectionchanged NameBox.Text = BookmarkListing.SelectedItems(0).Text LocationBox.Text = BookmarkListing.SelectedItems(0).SubItems(1).Text End Sub
I am currently working on a VB.Net program where there are two parallel multiline text boxes like this.
----- ----- | | | | | | | | ----- -----
I would like that when one text box is scrolled, the other is scrolled as well. I was wondering if there was a Scroll event that could trigger the change the position of the scroll bar of the two text boxes.
Lets see if I can explain-I have a text box (rich text box) in a form. Inside the box, some data gets put in there- specifically insurance information.
Normally, the box doesn't need to change color to alert the user there's a problem with the text that's inside, because the information is usually good. But there are a few phrases that need to alert the user there's a problem.
For example, if the words "Not Found AS OF:" appear anywhere in the box, I need the background to show red.Or, if the words "Letter #1" appear in the box, it needs to show red. Absent of any key words, the box is normal (white).
