I have to do some maintenance on an old VB.NET application (Visual Studio 2003) that uses Infragistics NetAdvantage 2006.I need to add a column to an existing UltraGrid control. This new column must act like a ComboBox, allowing the selection from a list of values.I added the new column, and set the Style to DropDownValidate. I created a ValueList and assigned it to the new column. At run-time I don't get the expected results.
I have a Infragistics ultragrid with a checkbox column (no binding on the checkbox column) need the user to only have one check box selected at a time. If a checkbox is checked and the user checks another row I need the first checkbox to uncheck. I am new to infragistic controls, so I apologize if this is a simple property that I have not found. But I have searched the forum and KB to no avail. Do I have to rip through the rows and uncheck all rows but the active one?
I need to add a column to an existing table in my database. I am having trouble adding a column to my database. I physically go into Microsoft Access and add the column, my problem comes up when Visual Studio does not recognize the table. Basically, I think I'm doing something wrong.

Can a custom control NEW Sub be the only one that executes when Inheriting from an existing control please?I am Inheriting from TabControl and I do not want the base New Sub called, is this possible? In other words, I do not want TabPage1 and TabPage2 to be added.A Form has an Activated Sub which runs once a Form is activated. It is a pity that Microsoft have not got such a method in the baseControl Class otherwise I could have used it within a custom TabControl.
Public Class Form1 Private Sub Form1_Activated(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Activated End Sub
I have a datagridview that is bound to a dataset by dragging it onto a windows form. I want one of the columns on the datagridview to be read only for existing records (rows), but I don't want it read only when the add new icon is pressed on the navigator. How can I tell when a row is being edited as opposed to being added?
I want to modify the third column of an existing excel file. The problem with below code is a new file is prduced with the new values in Column C and erases all other values in the orginal file. I want to update the orginal file with the new values.
Public oExcel As Excel.Application Public oBook As Excel.Workbook Public oSheet As Excel.Worksheet
I am working with two different connections because the information I need is stored in two different locations. One being Oracle, the other being Access. I pull all the information I need from Access with the exception of one field which I pull from Oracle. When I add this field to my datatable, it adds it to the end. I am wanting the column that I add to be between column 1 and 2 of my current datatable. Anyone know the best way to do this? From what I could find, there wasn't a way to re-arrange columns. Here is my code.
Dim da As New OleDbDataAdapter(" SELECT tblSummary.WorkOrderNumber, tblLabor.Crew, tblLabor.NumberOfMechanics, tblLabor.NumberOfHoursPerMechanic, tblTasks.TaskNumber, tblTasks.TaskDescription FROM (tblLabor tblLabor INNER JOIN tblTasks tblTasks ON
I have a table in database which I need to add a new column to. Normally I would load the access database and create the column but in this instance I have to many databases to amend. Is there a way in code to first detect if the column exists and if it doesn't create it in code?
I add several unbound columns to datagridview,i've succeeded to copy data from other datagridview to this unbound dgv and also got save database from unbound datagridview to database using tableadapter.insert worked .But i can't figure out how to display the data back into the datagridview with existing column..I've tried using this way :
Try Dim cn As OleDbConnection = New OleDbConnection_ ("Provider=SQLNCLI;Server=.SQLEXPRESS;Database=salon;Trusted_Connection=yes;") cn.Open()
I am trying to show xml data in an Ultragrid. I have tried using Ultragrid.loadfromxml and using the location of the file and i have also used a file input stream and throw that into the load xml method
Please can you translate the above line of C# into VB.NET?At runtime, I'm trying to update an existing GridView column, as opposed to adding new columns, just before a DataBind()
I'am creating a winforms app using vb.net. I've a form with two ultragrids(Infragistics UltraGrid Control) and five graphs (MSChart Control). I want to have a printpreview and print of the form with all the data (i.e., data in the two ultragrids and five graphs). I'am able to get all graphs but i'am not able to include the ultragrid data in printpreview. Here is the code i'am using to preview the graphs.
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Me.Chart1.Printing.PrintDocument = New PrintDocument
I've been working with an Infragistics Ultragrid and I'm looking for a helpful hint. I'm using a table from SQL Server 2008 to populate my grid. The table that I'm calling has a column that has been updated to be something like this. "Items" + char(9) + char(9) + "Cost" + char(13) + char(10). The "Items" section of the column is padded to be 50 charcters in length followed with the two tab characters, the cost then the new line characters. Ultimately this is what the results of a single row would look like. Notice how the items and the cost are lumped into a single cell.
I'm having trouble with an infragistics ultragrid using vb.net. I currently have a cell with the value "inner", however I want to be able to display a completely different string for that cell without losing the value. I understand that the cell has two properties, one value property and one text property. The text property is read-only so I cannot simply assign a new string to that.
VB GridView control will not allow code in the vb code file to access a data column that has its visible property set to false. When it is set to true, the data column can be accessed with no problem. Any suggestions as to how to correct this? I have looked through the documentation, text books, and I have not found anything that gave me any clue as to what the problem could be. I thought that the property was just applied to the column, not that it would remove the column from being accessible.
How to add existing Tab page to tab control like i am removing Me.tbIncoming.TabPages.Remove(tbPgViewer) 'I removed in button close and after i want to show in form load eventadil
I'm wanting to dynamically create some controls relative to controls already placed on the forum at design stage, how do I find the locations of the controls that are already placed? For example, I have a label called lblDateTime, its location is (13, 167) and its size is (65, 13).In my code, I want to place a new label below this label.I've tried to set the location and size properties of the new label using the location and size properties of lblDateTime.Size works, no problem, but the location of lblDateTime always returns as 0,0.[code]I want to set lblMessage DateTime. Location to (13, 180), but I'm actually setting it to (0, 13)What confuses me most is that Me.lblDateTime.Size is returning the correct values, so it's not like my code isn't finding the control.
how do I draw over existing graphics drawn on the control. This is what I'm using to draw the objects:
'Private paintRect As Rectangle Private Sub Panel2_MouseDown(sender As Object, e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles Panel2.MouseDown paintRect.Location = e.Location End Sub
make a click event for a non existing control but for example: when the end user clicks the new button(or something else) a new text box pops up with a button on the same form and when the button is clicked I want the form to open another window(or something else). Here is the the code for doing that(only the part needed):
Private Sub MenuBtnNew_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MenuBtnNew.Click Dim Tab As TabItem = TabControl1.CreateTab(NewDialogBox.NameBox.Text + NameDesign) Dim Panel As TabControlPanel = DirectCast(Tab.AttachedControl, TabControlPanel)
Is there any way to add new properties to a control? For example, I'm using an "OvalShape" from Microsoft's Powerpacks, these are designated as "Cells". I would like to add properties to the class itself (if I had a physical class to edit) for different processes such as "energy level", "family number", "mutation", etc. General variables that are either Boolean, Integers, or etc. If there isn't a way to edit the powerpack class itself, is there a way I can use the ovalshape power pack in my own class and add extra properties to it myself?
I have an existing xml document with music playlist information, which is read into a GridView control in Visual Basic. I am now wanting to save any updates in the GridView to that xml document.[code]...
