I have several programs that I wrote in Visual Basic.net 2003 that I run from a server at work. We upgraded to Visual Studio 2008 recently and I converted my code to that version. I rebuilt the .exes and tried to run it from the server. It said I needed to upgrade the framework on the server, which I did. Now when I run the .exe file from the server I get a runtime error:
Runtime Error! Program: d:... This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applicaiton's support team for more information.
These programs are very important to the day-to-day operations of the company I work for. I did backup the software before converting it, so we're running normally right now, but there are modifications and upgrades I need to make as soon as possible, but cannot due to the programs crashing when I run the on the server.

I'm running an FTP Server using Golder FTP Server, which is freeware. I think it's setup correctly because connecting to the FTP Server using the exact same string as above using Windows Explorer works great.

I am writing an application that will call a SQL Server job on all our client's systems. I'm able to execute it, and wait until it's finished. It has an output file that's save location is hard coded into the job however, and this is not the same location on all client's.
Since the job is identical on systems minus this one value, I want my code to read in the script of the job and parse out the location.I'm having trouble figuring out how to get the actual text of the job itself.
I have code that works fine on my XP machine. It loads an HTML document into the VB 6 WebBrowser control and then uses the following command to print the document without any print dialog box:mfrmPrint.WebBrowser1.ExecWB OLECMDID_PRINT, OLECMDEXECOPT_DONTPROMPTUSER, PRINT_DONTBOTHERUSER_WAITFORCOMPLETIONI have also just implemented a .NET C# DLL that uses the axDHTMLEDLib. It also works fine on my XP computer.
i am trying to load contents from a webfolder using the server.mappath .. the server is giving me a error, and i have a feeling i need an import for the code to work...
I'd like to use System.Net to connect to FTP Server and it does, but now i want to have a form to display the contents of the FTP Server (example: It shows the files and folders and allows the viewing of another folder, like an ftp client but not used for that)
Protected Sub CompetenciesButton_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles CompetenciesButton.Click Dim con As String = WebConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("foo").ToString()
Does My.Computer.Network.DownloadFile work with FTP? When I attempt to use it, I get the exception: "The remote server returned an error: (500) Syntax error, command unrecognized."
Here's the code I'm using: Dim UpdateAddress As String = "ftp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" & lbDownload.Items(X).ToString My.Computer.Network.DownloadFile(UpdateAddress, BasicPath & lbDownload.Items(X).ToString, "", "", True, 10000, False, FileIO.UICancelOption.ThrowException) The FTP server is IIS6.

Recently I retrieved code of my project EXE file. And it was almost same with 100s of errors. So my question is Is career in .NET is safe? And is our code safe? Can this be done with other languages?
Using the following code to print the contents of my rich textbox
Private Sub PrintText(ByVal sender As Object, _ ByVal ev As PrintPageEventArgs) tbUpperBody.Text = vbNewLine & vbNewLine & tbUpperBody.Text
[Code]...
Issue is that when the rich textbox contains text that is spread over multiple lines, it prints as one massive line, which obviously disappears off the edge of the page.
I'm using Visual Studio Development Server (Visual Basic 2010) and it works fine. Now I've enabled NTLM Authorization because I want to test the website using a different user account. Now when I try to access the website I always get the following error page:
Server Error in '/' Application.
HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden.
Version Information: ASP.NET Development Server 10.0.0.0 .I'm using a test account which is a normal user within our domain. I've already set the access rights in my project folder to Full Access for this user but it does not help.
When I deployed my project on a server, in certain circumstances, I get an error page that indicates I should create a custom error page. I was wondering how exactly I would implement this custom error page the server asks for to give me a precise and helpful message or preferably, how I would get the error to just display on the main page? This is the error message I got below
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.
I would like to delete the contents of my array in .NET code. The examples I have seen say..[code]This is way too simple to be so complicated. I just want to delete the array between populations.
I've one VB.net 1.1 based windows app. I recently added the app.config files. In code it works fine. But, when I compile the application, VS 2003 doesn't generate the appname.exe.config.(I read on google) I manually copied the app.config file to the Release folder. But the code is giving error that the file doesn't exists.
In a ASP.NET app from a procedure IN a VB code file a dynamic control is called. The first problem may solve the second. In the following line of code I am getting an "end of statement expected" error at the following line.
I have a structure named StudentData, it consists of a studentname, an array of testscoresand the student average. There is also an array of structure objects for a total of 6 students. I have the header, column heads, the student names and the averages printing when I click the print page event. I have tried multiple ways of setting this up to get the test scores to print, these are the structure array variables. When I put in the code to process the arrays testscores, I receive a run time error that I don't understand
