Asp.net - Execute Sqldatasource After Page Loads Without A Button?
Jun 17, 2012
So on my IssueRequest.aspx page I have a form that the customer can fillout that issues a work request to my company. However, I need to make sure that they filled out their account info which by default upon account creation equals "" in each field.
I have the following fields
Customer_ID // Auto Number
Customer__First_Name // text field size 50
Customer__Last_Name // text field size 50
Customer_Address // text field size 50
I have a basic page which has fields that I read from the database and write to it. I would like to know where I should call the insert and read commands. I know about age_load but heard about page_loadcomplete.I noted that when the user refreshes the page, for some reason the sqldatasource loads the old data(before the write) even though new data has been loaded on the form.
I have a simple web for that has a dropdown list and a button on the form. The dropdown list is bound to a table in my database and holds three values with idents between 1 and 3 (Weekly,Monthly, Please Select).I have set my datasource to pull back item 3 (Please Select) as the first item in the dropdown list to prompt the user to select an option. Items 1 & 2 have data assigned to them and this pulls back the relevent data for these options.
Here is my problem. I need to hide my button when the page loads until the user selects item 1 or 2 and would like the button to be hidden of option 3 is selected. I have tried to complete this in my page load event and the code for the dropdown list but i cannot seem to get this to work.
If IsNumeric(DropDownList1.SelectedValue) = 3 Then btnAddAgendaTemplate.Visible = False End If
If I want to execute my Insert command from my SqlDataSource in my code behind I would do this.
SqlDataSource1.Insert()
But how would I be able to do this in JavaScript?
<script type='text/javascript' language="javascript"> function valSubmit() { //Need to call the Insert Command here!
[Code].....
Where in my code behind can I place the Insert() command to make sure only after my valSubmit() function in JavaScript have executed it will then execute the Insert Command?
Let's say we have a value coming in through the URL of a page. Example: www.test.com/page.aspx?&Key=Val. Val is retrievable through Request.Querystring("Key").Is there an accepted best practice for assigning a QueryString Value to a parameter of a SqlDataSource defined on an ASPX page?
Options that I know of: Do not include parameters in the ASPX file. Add them directly through the codebehind -- and assign Param.DefaultValue upon adding. Set Param.DefaultValue in the page load (Codeblock 2)
Both of these use DefaultValue, a property that clearly was not intended to be used in this manner. Do the ASP.NET overlords have a recommended method in mind for achieving this common task?
I am making a program that will fill in some info on a form. The information that needs to be filled is:
[Code]...
The thing is i need the program to click on a button on a website then open a new tab with the page it just clicked on, fill in email and click submit, then fill in the info that is above before pausing. I would also like the info above to be randomized each time the new page loads so it is not the same. I have already looked on this site and cant find what I am looking for.
I knew a code and can't find it anywhere. So here it goes.I want to click a button on a website (so far I know how) but what I want to do is when I press the button, I want the program to let the webpage finish loading then invoke the click.
My form has four panels, each contains radio buttons. At design time, all buttons have checked = false, which is what I want when form loads. When the form loads a radio button in one panel has checked = true
For the other three panels, all radio buttons have checked = false.I have tested this with no code in the Form_load subrroutine. How is checked = true being set for that that one radio button ?
Does The IDE somehow force at least one radio button on the form to have checked = true?
Can I force checked = false for all radio buttons when the form loads? If so, how?
I'm trying to send an HTTP command using VB.NET and I'm not quite sure how to do it. I don't want to actually navigate to the page, just execute the command.[URL]..
What I'm doing is building an integrated interface for my XBMC home theater, and my home automation.
My problem is, I just finish creating a program, that loads a picture and description of a selection from a radio button.
Everything works on MY comp, but when i go to my lil sister comp and load the .exe file there, everything works too EXCEPT the image....the error is something along the line " C:documentspictures ame.jpg" not found.
My question is: how would I store the image to the program via another file or the program itself. so that when I "build" my program, I just need to run the .exe and lets say another file "for ex: .dll ", with all the images stored inside. And I dont know how to create and work with .dll file or whatever file is more convience.
How can I incorporate the timer so once a page loads the timer activates, waits a few seconds then I tell my program what to do next.I tried this code but it didnt work:
I have an asp.net website that is using update panels on the page that i cant get to reload from the server. I have this for the disable page cache on the master page.
When I click the browser back button to go back to the page it says the page has expired. the other pages on my web site work and call the page load, the only solution i found but cant use is to wrp the whole page in an update panel, but i cant do this becuase i have a report viewer on the page that does not work with ajax.

I use new WEBBrowser control (VS2005) in my program (WinForm) for open web site. (VB2005)After using method "navigate", in my webbrowser control I have HTML page from some website. This HTML page has some input button with events or input text control or other interactive control on it. I can click with mouse on that buttons or input text from keyboard or select value from combo box to send this page back. question:How I can execute this from my program code, using property and methods WebBrowser control?
I have a batch file with the following code which works fine[code]...
I would like to execute it from within the .net environment, however I can't seem to execute that command using the shell syntax.I tried Shell (cmd "MsiExec.exe /x {3248F0A8-6813-11D6-A77B-00B0D0150070}",vbHide)
My program consists of a TextBox and a Submit Button. When I press the submit button, the entry in the Textbox will be copied to the active window (notepad for example).I would like to let my program executes the "Submit Button" when I'm already on notepad. So I do not need to switch to my program to Press the Button, but instead, when pressing the BackSpace button on notepad, the submit button of my program will be executed.I hope I gave enough details, I do really need to know how to do that.By the way, I heard that we can load the content to cach or something like that, i did not really get the point... But maybe "cach" and "load" will give you more ideas...
I am looking for a method to dynamically execute blocks of code ('tasks') in a VB.Net program for a mobile robot. The bulk of the program is running in the background retrieving variables from serial ports, APIs, and the like. The user would select a task in the form of a toolbox button which pops up a dialog to enter task parameters. An accept button would add the task with the parameters to a list. The user would add more tasks to the list as necessary, and then click an 'Execute' button to start the sequence of tasks. The program would then perform the first task with the given parameters until finished, and then start the next task in the sequence and so on.
An example task would be: GPS Navigate:
A Parameter dialog opens and a destination is entered in the form of GPS coordinates. At run-time the task compares its current GPS position with the position entered in the parameter dialog. It calculates the direction to go and drives the motors accordingly. This particular task would loop until current position = destination position. Move on to next task. The code within the tasks themselves is not the problem, just the execution of the tasks.

I have a UserControl, we'll call it myUC, that is one among several UserControls in the main window(myWindow) of my WPF application. myUC contains a number of standard controls, one of them being a button, we'll call it myButton.
When I click myButton, I would like to execute myMethod, which exists in the code-behind of myWindow.
The problem being that myUC doesn't have any idea that myWindow even exists, much less that myMethod exists.
How can I send the message: 'Hey, myWindow, wake up. myButton on myUc was just clicked; run myMethod'?
I have this code that tries to kill the wampmanager process when the user press on a buttonBut how can I achieve the same thing if the user clicks on the close button. Is it possible to execute a small line of code just when the user clicks on the close button? If you know any alternatives in
Dim pProcess() As Process = System.Diagnostics.Process.GetProcessesByName("wampmanager") For Each p As Process In pProcess p.Kill()
I'd rather not go into the detail of the problem, because it's a lot of typing... but the functionality of vb.net (when making a web application) is quite annoying.
This is what it does...Page1.aspx loads, then you push a button on the page, and that button then does this: Response.redirect("Page2.aspx")
But first, it does Page1's load event, then it does the btn.Click event, THEN it does Page2.aspx's load event... Is there a way to force it to not do Page1's load event, and just make it execute the button click, and the page2's load event?
