I am trying to migrate large data that is required for our website hosted on Azure to access. The data amounts to about 7GB. After reading few forums, I have come to know that SQL Azure BLOB Storage can do the trick for me. how we can store data in SQL Azure BLOB Storage and access it? At first I want to try to store a Test.txt file in the BLOB and access the contents of this file from our website and display it.
I have a Azure worker role that needs to use the cache in AppFabric. When run locally (Win7x64,VS2010) pointing at the cache in the cloud, it works fine. When I deploy the same package to the cloud (again pointing at the same cache), it produces the following exception:
Message: The type initializer for 'Microsoft.ApplicationServer.Caching.DataCacheClientLogManager' threw an exception. Exception Type: TypeInitializationException StackTrace: Microsoft.ApplicationServer.Caching.DataCacheClientLogManager.Initialize(DataCacheLogSink logSink) at Microsoft.ApplicationServer.Caching.DataCacheFactoryConfiguration.Initialize(String clientName) at CommunicationRole.CacheUtil.GetCache()
Having looked at the code, this is happening when this line of code is hit:
Dim configuration As New DataCacheFactoryConfiguration()
Nothing runs after this line is hit. As I've said, the configs between local and cloud are the same. I use the cache with the credentials as a session state provider in a web deployment so I believe the cache and access to it are good.My build machine has the November 2011 release of the Azure SDK, and Azure AppFabric SDK 1.5 installed.
when i draw the rectangle, the moment the container refreshes itself i lose my shape or if i run the app in full screen and then into normal window mode the shape either gets clipped or deleted. I would like to create a grahpics container to always keep the shape 'alive'.
Private mdbContext As PFModelContainer Private mdbTransactions As Object
Before I did it this way:
Private mdbContext As New PFModelContainer Private mdbTransactions As mdbContext.Transactions
Thinking maybe I was doing something wrong I changed it over to the first way, then I do:
Public Sub New() mdbContext = New PFModelContainer mdbTransactions = mdbContext.Transactions End Sub
Once I hit mdbContext = New PFModelContainer it takes me over to the PFModel.Designer.vb Where it steps through the following:
Public Sub New() MyBase.New("name=PFModelContainer", "PFModelContainer")
At which point it terminates execution of the code. This is the error it gives me on the Immediate window:
A first chance exception of type 'System.ArgumentException' occurred in System.Data.Entity.dll
Is there something I can do to make this error go away? I tried deleting the project and recreating it with my old .edmx model that I downloaded from Mozy from when it used to work. It stopped working (as far as I can tell) after I changed the .edmx model and updated it. Maybe I did something else in the other project too, but I'm not recalling anything. This is what is in the app.config:
Should I be referencing System.Data.EntityClient and System.Data.SqlServerCe.3.5 somewhere? The EDMX property Entity Container Name is PFModelContainer and the Namespace is PFModel.
I'm using the Azure ACS, and I've been looking for away to get the email and name from the SAML 2.0 response or something. But I dont see any options for it, I redirect the user to localhost:8000/acc/completesigninup/.There I have the XML from the FormCollection object, I see the Email and Name in the xml but I'm not sure how to get it. Is there a parser that's included in the Identity dll to get that info?
I have an ASP.NET in VB code base that if I open in Visual Studio as an existing website works and tests just fine. I have followed many tutorials for porting this over to Azure: -Tried create new Azure project add a webrole and drag and drop project files into the new webrole, but I get about 300 reference/missing stuff/etc errors -I have also tried creating an azure project under the website solution but the option to add the website to the webrole by clicking "web role project in solution" is disabled/grayed out I have been able to make the configuration files and compile through the command line but this does not work with visual studio so I am unable to test before deploying into staging
I have WinForms application with SQLServer 2008 Express. I want to move my data from it to SQL Azure. The architect of application as Client-Server Type (using stored procedures).
I want to know that if there is any performance issue when I am using broadband internet (with speed 2Mbps download and 512kbps upload)?
What I need to do is create the server side for a chat application that will run on the iPhone, Android, Blackberry and web browsers. To do this I am thinking of:
I'm trying to host some static files for access by an ASP.Net web role and a separate data worker role that are both running on the same deployment (they use a global static interface).
However, I'm unsure how exactly to 'host' them, I've tried using virtual folders via HttpRuntime.AppDomainAppPath, but it only occasionally works in debug mode. The files also don't seem to get packaged into the deployment packages made by VS vis CSPack (though this might be a separate issue, is it possible to fix this too?)
The static files in question are actually WordNet, which I'm using through WordNet.Net, If that makes any difference. I also need the solution to work in both the cloud deployment and the emulator (if possible).
I am trying to access the private key of a certificate I uploded to Windows azure do do decryption. I used a code similar to this post: Using DotNetOpenAuth OAuth 2 with Azure - Reading Certificate - difficulty extracting keys. Andrew Arnott provided an answer to what post referencing this link:[URL].. However I cannot access it so I am not sure what is the solution.
Essentially when try to cast the private key of a certificate as a RSACryptoProvider. I get nothing: Dim provider As RSACryptoServiceProvider = DirectCast(certificate.PrivateKey, RSACryptoServiceProvider)
That is provider is assigned nothing. The code works perfectly outside of Azure.
I am struggling to send parameters to a VB.NET WS(web service) that is hosted on Windows Azure. Getting a simple hello world (no parameters) works fine, but for some reason my parameters on the web service side are null? Web service function to be called (IService1.vb):
<OperationContract()> Function GetAddition(ByVal number1 As Integer, ByVal number2 As Integer) As String
Function implementation (Service1.svc.vb):Function GetAddition(ByVal number1 As Integer, ByVal number2 As Integer) As String Implements IService1.GetAddition Return number1 + number2 End Function
I'm trying to run an instance of the Azure Blob Storage in the Azure Visual Studio 2010 development environment, but keep getting the followingrror:System.InvalidOperationException: Not running in a hosted service or the Development Fabric. The stack trace is pointing to these lines:
I would like to create a split container with a three way split. The first split is a vertical split. The second is creating a horizontal split within panel2 of the first split container. panel1 will hold a treeview control the other two panels will hold listview controls
I think this question has been asked already in a couple different ways and I've reviewed those posts and I've tried to do what was suggested but it doesn't seem to work for me. I've tried to place a second split container inside panel2 of the first split containter. This gave me what appeared to be a three way vertical split.
I have a form (say Form1) opened into a MDI Container form, and I want to open a new form (Form2) as a child of Form1. I open it with Form2.showdialog() but it don't act as a child, I mean, I can move it outside the bouds of the Form1 (and even the MDI)
Say I have some constants that depends one of other, and I decided to keep them together in a container instead of keeping it as individual constants in a class.I thought use a Structure for that scope, but compiler force me to declare a private member for that structure.
is there a way to design my own rtb which can act like a container? I mean I want to add the functionality of a container e-g panel to rtb. How can I start it?
This is more of a ASP.NET question, but we are using VB.NET so it might be relevant. We just recently upgraded an ASP.NET 1.1 project to 4.0.Once we started running through the app to regression test it, we found that (consistently) if we made a call like DataBinder.Eval(Container, "PropertyName") from a User Control, ASP.NET complained that it could not find the PropertyName on the page.
PropertyName *does* exist on the User Control, but not on the page. This worked up until we upgraded to 4.0.The fix we found was instead of using "Container", we used "Me" to reference the control that the code was being called on.
start a desktop app. make the form 1- MDI Container = True. 2- Right to Left = True , 3- change the Right to left Layout = True.Set the background to any jpg image, when you run the form, the backgroud disappears.
VB 6.0 had a Set Pixel function, which is not available in VB.net. using a draw ellipse function with parameters specifying a circle one pixel in diameter. The above is painfully slow.I have been drawing graphics in a Bit Map using a Set Pixel function & then copying the entire graphic from Bit Map to a Picture Box. This results in nothing seeming to happen for several seconds & then the entire graphic is displayed in the Picture Box.
The above does the job, but it would be nice to display the graphic as it is being generated pixel by pixel, which was possible using VB 6.0, Might there be a Windows 7 API which would set a pixel? Might Microsoft be considering a Set Pixel function for Picture Box graphics?
I made a User control.I add two Panel in this Usercontrol. But i want one of panel keep control like container when i add my usercontrol in the from.but when i add user cousercontrol does not contrin any controlntrol in the from but my . how can i user usercontrol like container
It is possible to anchor 1 control with other control instead of container. I mean suppose i want to maintain fix distance between 2 controls during resizing form.
I have a Repeater on one of my pages like so: [code] But, when I run it it errors out with the message:'btn<% Container.DataItem %>' is not a valid identifier.I want to append btn to the Container.DataItem value so that I have dynamically assigned control names that are associated with the underlying data item. Any ideas?
I have an older VB6 program that uses a MDI sheet. this program was upgraded to VB.net. I can not get a new Windows Form to use the MDI Container. the new sheet lays over the top of the MDI sheet.
My doubt is :1] I have got many forms and MDI container. There is close button on all the forms. One of the form name is Homepage.2]Whenever the user clicks on close button,i.e.the cross button with minimize and maximize box, The form will close but at the same time it should redirect to homepage.3]I know to show new form ,we use Homepage.show().But,This homepage.show() is written in the code when we got button or other controls.4]What can be done with this cross close button? How to code for this?
I have a user control called UCO and it is being put in many diffrent forms. How can i refer to these forms from the code of the UCO?For instance, how can i get the color of the form and make the UCO have the same color?
Working in VB.NET, in a repeater. I only want to display part of the repeater if one the data item's fields is set to true.I am struggling to write a line that will accomplish this but am trying along the lines of this:
<% If '<%# Container.DataItem.IsLive%>' Then %> <asp:PlaceHolder ... <% End If%>
In my program, I want the user to be able to move an MDI child window anywhere inside the MDI container but I need it to be kept completely inside the container boundary. For example, the upper left corner should never be at a location less than 0,0 when moved left or up. Currently, if I slide the child window too far left, it extends outside of the MDI container window and the MDI container shows the bottom scroll bar.
Is there a way to prevent the child window from moving outside of the boundaries of the container window? I tried adding code to the .move (see below) so that if the new location was less than 0,0 then it reset it to 0,0 but then the child window controls flicker as the window is moved beyond 0,0 and the logic moves it back to 0,0. It appears that even though the code changes the location to 0,0 and the window shows the child moved to 0,0, when the mouse moves again, the window jump back to its unmoved location.
Private Sub MyForm_Move(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Move If Location.X < 0 Then
