let's say that in my vb.net application i have a resource called "song.mp3", how can I make it possible, so when i press a button, it automatically saves the resource in c: directory.
The company has a Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate project that is written in Visual Basic. The project has several strings in the resources file (Resources.resx). One of those strings (VersionSuffix) contains "" when we are distributing a normal version of our product and "BETA" when we are distributing a beta version of our product. Most of the time we distribute a normal version of our product. Therefore, most of the time the resource string VersionSuffix contains "".
Recently, we attempted to distribute a beta version of our product. Therefore, we changed resource string VersionSuffix from "" to "BETA". However, it quickly became apparent that the resource string VersionSuffix was being used as the default value for several control properties in the form designer. For example, if I draw a rich textbox on a form then file FORMNAME.Designer.vb will contain the following.
Me.RichTextBox1.Location = New System.Drawing.Point(286, 306)
Me.RichTextBox1.Name = "RichTextBox1"
Me.RichTextBox1.Size = New System.Drawing.Size(134, 33)
We are unable to find anything anywhere that indicates that this resource string should be used as the default value for control properties. Therefore, we have no idea why this resource string is being used for this purpose. We would like to change the control property assignments in the designer from Me.RichTextBox1.Text = Global.PROJECTNAME.My.Resources.Resources.VersionSuffix
Me.RichTextBox1.Text = "" However, we don't know why these strange assignments are being made. Therefore, as soon as someone adds another control the problem will most likely return. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to prevent it from happening again?
So i created resource file New --> new file --> Native Resource Template Then added icons with custom id, like "x", "u_100", .. so i understand, what the files (in my case icons) is.. I have created a resource directory loaded with 10 mp3 files in it and added it to the resources tab. The problem I am having is when the program is compiled and installed, it does not add the resource directory to the hard drive. I know that resources can be added into the applications files in the publish tab but cannot seem to figure out how to get it listed or added in there.I also took each mp3 and set the build action to Embedded Resource... That didnt help much though.The resource directory i want to include in the deployement is in my bin/debug/resources in the solution explorer.
MSDN Forums, My name is Ted and I need help with my application.So, basically it has a Textbox and two buttons. In which I created one button to FileBrowseDialog, and the other to place the resouce to the directory selected in the TextBox by the FileBrowseDialog.
Example-Not In Code: If TextBox has "C:UserDesktop" Selected (From The Browse Button), Then Press "Button Two" and moves (Resource) file to the directory and replaces the original. This Resource can be any file, for Example "D3DX9_43.dll"
In-Use:User clicks "Browse. . ." Button and browses for a directory to place the file, So for Example: "C:Program Files (x86)My App And then clicks "Place" Button and overwires the original file, Example: "myapp.dll"

I've done some research into this using the MSD website; I have found that my applicaiton saves the Customer Details to the Customer File, but only as (spaces). No data is present in the file.
I'm creating an application that saves Customer data to a file. Once the Data is saved into the file, how would i then get it from the file into a ListView?
I have a resource file that I include in my shared code library that has all of my re-usable classes in it (all the resources go into their own namespace). Now, what is the best practice regarding resources... should I include them in the same DLL, or should I have a seperate resource DLL and/or are there any benefits from seperating them out into their own file.

copying the file from one Directory to another directory by create the folder if that folder is not exists in destination directory.Example:
Source path: C: emp est1.txt destination path: C:Data if C:Data doesn't contains "temp" or "test" folder, it should create the folder before copy the 1.txt.[code]....
I'll tell you what I'd like to do which is to create a directory listing of every file inside a specified directory and then use a loop to upload each file in this directory to a remote folder via FTP.
I am attempting to compare two directory trees. I have the program map the network drive and copy a directory. I need it to verify that the files copied successfully by comparing the source to the destination. If comparison returns equal then perform action1, if comparison returns unequal then perform action2.

@filename,resource
MSDN: "If the resource value is zero or greater, the number becomes the index of the string in the binary file. If the number is negative, it becomes a resource ID."How can I find out either of these numbers for my resources that only have names in VB? I also need the ID/index for the exe's icon.
