Nov 16, 2011I am trying to save new data every time and then I have to edit it or load it. here is a screenshot you might get some idea by looking at this:
First I will input data (in all textboxes) using create button which will be stored then If I want to edit any thing I will input only the part number and press search. the stored data will come up. I will edit it and update it (Load button is update). Now I can save it in txt file and load it using regex but the problem is edit. I can not edit. If i create a database I cannot save 100 parts (or may be more) in one database so it might create too many db files. So is there any other option I can save parts detail then load it and edit it without create so many dbs?

I cannot figure out how to incorporate the number of days into the input box then get it to loop and count the number of times the User inputs in the number of days. Then I have to incorporate it into the equation to get the total distance D = MPH * Hours. What I have right now wil not count up the number of days and locks up after I input one number and will not add anything to the listbox. Because I also have to make sure that they cant add nonnumaric values and the number of hours per day cannot exceed 20. I have put things in and taken them out but it has been 2 days and I am lost now

I need to error check so that the fields are not empty.I have used If statements that check to see if the fields are empty and shows a message box if they are but if I leave the whole form empty and click the button that activates it, all the if statements go- one by one instead of pausing for the user to input the required data.How do I check for data and make the program stay there until the data is input? I have tried TRY/CATCH but it won't catch this type of error.

Add Input And Hit Buttons If Don't Use Mouse Or Tab Button?
Jun 2, 2011I don't know if this is really possible, the program can not use a mouse or anything that requires the use of the tab key (this would be considered a use of the mouse), is there a way to still add input into textboxes and hit buttons, kinda like the letter "q" takes the place of the tab button and letter "W" takes the place of the enter button, or this can't be done?

One of the main node collections in the XML file was rendered as:

And sure, there's PRODUCT class defined later on, and it worked fine. Serialized and deserialized fine. Didn't need to worry about it or manipulate it. Only now we have to revisit and manipulate the data.
But what kind of collection (array?) is Public Property PRODUCT() As PRODUCT(), and how do we loop over it? And add to it? Basic question, I know. Probably got too comfortable with generics and now xsd has thrown something at me which isn't List(of T) I'm running scared.
A Different Kind Of Flicker.
Mar 8, 2011I have just run into an issue of screen flicker that I haven't been able to solve. I have a panel with dozens of controls on it. Painted onto the panel, behind the controls, are a few colored rectangles.
Those rectangles flicker whenever the mouse is moved over any control, or off the panel. Basically, a paint event for the panel is raised whenever the mouse leaves the panel.
Therefore, I thought that if I only painted the rectangles when they needed to be painted, not every time the Paint event was raised, that I would be able to avoid the flicker. After all, there is no obvious reason why they would need to be re-painted just because the mouse moved over a control on the panel.
the paint event was still being raised, and the panel just wasn't painting the rectangles, so they weren't being drawn at all (but they sure didn't flicker). So, the flicker is being caused by the fact that the paint event clears the panel, which gets displayed in a cleared state for a fraction of a second, then the rectangles are drawn in.
Doublebuffering the form has no discernible impact, which may well be because the screen draws the absence of the rectangles on one frame, then draws the presence of the rectangles on the next frame. They both get shown in sequence, so the rectangles appear to flicker badly.
One obvious alternative is to not even draw the rectangles, which works great, and they are only useful visual guides, not essential components. Still, that doesn't seem like a good solution.
So what I am looking for is a way to supress the display of the undrawn image before showing the finished image.

Mar 29, 2012i want to design a billing software using vb.net.i am planning to use microsoft sql server.how can i save different invoices in a database? i mean,i need to save the whole invoice( invoice no, date, products, rate quantity etc, ie the whole invoice so that it can be accessed again and editted as well ).
can i do it in sql server itself or should i save it in microsoft excel? or is there any better method which i can adopt?
