C# - DbConnection Pool Error (Microsoft.Win32.SafeNativeMethods.ReleaseSemaphore)
Jan 31, 2011
I am getting this error in my VB.NET code. Anyone have ideas on what it could be or how to troubleshoot. I am using SQL Server 2008 and this error doesn't happen consistently. Looks like it happens completely randomly and doesn't seem to be originating from my code:
MESSAGE: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. at Microsoft.Win32.SafeNativeMethods.ReleaseSemaphore(SafeWaitHandle handle, Int32 releaseCount, Int32& previousCount)
I was scripting a very basic process manager, with a ListView component, and it was working fine for many days, up until now. Here is the code for getting processes:
Dim Process As New Process() Dim Count As Integer = 0 ListView1.Items.Clear()[code].....
The line of code where I put "*WIN32 EXCEPTION LINE* keeps running into an error(Win32 Exception was unhandled; Access is denied). Here is the full error description:
System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception was unhandled ErrorCode=-2147467259 Message=Access is denied[code]....
As I said before, this had been working for several days, up until now.
I read in msdn that registrykey class is found in Microsoft.win32 namespace. But when I try to add a reference to my project, I couldn't find Microsoft.win32 in the list.
I'm trying to convert some VB.net code into C# and having issues trying to convert this one line. VB.NET Dim myreg As Microsoft.Win32.Registry I know it's a static so I can't create an instance but when I tried a VB.NET converter to C# the website gives me this: Microsoft.Win32.Registry myreg = null; And gives me an error message: 'Microsoft.Win32.Registry' is a 'type' but is used like a 'variable' In the last part of the Function in VB.NET, myreg is used:
I am getting the following error when i try to publish my application with the checkbox for ClickOnce Security On. Could not find file 'Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=*, PublicKeyToken=6595b64144ccf1df, ProcessorArchitecture=*, _ Type=win32'. [projectname ]
I try to compile a project with msbuild.exe I have this error :
vbc : error BC30136: Error creating Win32 resources: Error reading icon '"Recycle Bin Empty.ico"' -- The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
This icon is the Application icon which is in the same directory of the project.vbc is started with /win32icon:"Recycle Bin Empty.ico" parameter.Don't know why MSBuild can't reach the file.
I'm currently doing a project that includes access 2010 My question will be what driver can I use for an access 2010 *.accdb type file? For a *.mdb it works perfectly well with
ERROR[HY000][Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Could not find file '(unknown)'. ERROR[IM006][Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager]SQLSetConnetAttr failed ERROR[HY000][Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Could not find file '(unknown)'
And then it shows me that my code for
If dsLogin.Tables(0).Rows.Count = 1 Then IndexOutOfRangeException was unhandled Cannot find table 0
I knew it must be the driver but I don't know what accdb driver I can use for the connstring.
I am using Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition on an Acer Aspire 3810T running 64bit Windows Vista Home Premium (Intel GMA 4500). No matter what Code I write concerning DirectX, I get a White Form with a huge Red X when I run the PROGRAM. I also get the error: not a valid Win32 Application. This is the last Code I used:
I have an error ERROR [22018] [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Data type mismatch in criteria expression. and I've been trying to solve this but unfortunately I couldn't get the hack of this error. I'm a newbie in dotNet.
Public Sub LogInContinue(ByVal senter As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Dim LibDS As DataSet = New DataSet Dim LibDA As OdbcDataAdapter = New OdbcDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM tblUserAccount WHERE Uname='" & txtUserName.Text & "'", LibConn)
I have a form in my VB>NET project (2010) with some ImageList. Those images are embedded in the list with a form resource in a .resx file asdata name="xxxx.ImageStream" mimetype="application/x-microsoft.net.object.binary.base64When I tried to build/run my project I get:
I have an application that is primarily developed on an x86 machine. I recently checked the app out of TFS onto a Win 7 x64 machine for development. However, every single form level resource file shows up in the error list with an entry like the following:
is not a valid Win32 application. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700C1) Line 127, position 5. C:Users...shortened...FormsfrmCustomer.resx Line 127 Column 5
What I find interesting is that my application level resource files aren't showing the same error. Plus, these are just XML files. They aren't applications in any way.
I'm currently working under VB2010 beta 2 on both machines. Obviously, with a bunch of errors, the app won't compile on the x64 machine.
I'm using the SDK that my laptop's touchpad manufacturer, Synaptics, provides in order to extend the touchpad's functionality. In the SDK, there's a file named SynCtrl.dll, which contains a few ActiveX controls.Based on what I learned from the samples provided in the SDK (which are VB 5 old and don't compile), I wrote this little application:
Error embedding Win32 manifest: Manifest File 'C:WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727default.win32manifest' cannot be found.
Received with this code:
Public Class HelloWorld Private Sub DisplayHello_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles DisplayHello.Click HelloWorldLabel.Text =
this is my code for adding users in my database but it has an error on the INSERT INTO statement.here is the error: Microsoft office access database engine: syntax error in INSERT INTO statement.
vb.net Private Sub Button6_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button6.Click Dim conn As New OleDbConnection(cn) Dim check As Integer
I saw in a youtube video to get SQLserver 2005 management tool express, But I can't install it, I get an error saying "This is an invalid Win32 Application", Also, Do I need like a web hosting server? Or any kind of server?
I have inherited a VB.NET project which was created in VS 2003 and is now in VS 2010. It works fine on one macine (32 bit). However, on my Win7 64 bit machine it simply won't build or run. I get an error saying "xxx is not a valid Win32 application. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700C1) Line 4762, position 5"
how to catch faxing errors (outbound) using VB.NET.I am using this reference: MSDN Basically, the issue is that SBS2008 Event Log does not give the same amount of information that Windows XP did, so the users are being forced to look in the text activity log. Am I forced to loop through the log for new items, or can I actually catch errors as they come?My ultimate goal is to send an email report with the erroneous fax information (destination#, error reason, code, body or attachment). So essentially I need to figure out how to catch fax errors as they arise, by listening (this will be a VB.NET console app), and then I can take it from there.
Private Sub GetOutgoingArchiveMessages() Dim objFaxServer As New FAXCOMEXLib.FaxServer Dim vMessages As FAXCOMEXLib.FaxOutgoingMessageIterator
[code]....
This is what I am using to get the outgoing archive messages, but I either need to reliably get an error when it happens there, or get one on demand. I would much rather just poll the fax service for the information if I can.
I have getting this error after adding a form. The error shows the following:CA0001: Rule=Microsoft.Globalization#CA1301, Target=(The form I added): Object reference not set to an instance of an object
I have an app that uses Microsoft.Speech to recognize speech in a WAV file. It works perfectly when run locally as a console app but barfs when executed by IIS.Assuming I have the following installed on WinServer 2008 with .NET 3.5+:
Microsoft Speech Platform - Software Development Kit (SDK) (Version 10.1) Microsoft Speech Platform - Server Runtime Languages (Version 10.1) Microsoft Speech Platform - Software Development Kit (SDK) (Version 10.1)
Is it even possible to use Microsoft.Speech over IIS7? What am I missing here? I've tried re-coding it as an ASP.NET web service but that doesn't work either.
UPDATE: Here's the error message + stack trace:
System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access is denied. ABOVE CODE GIVES THE FOLLOWING ERROR WHEN I RUN IT.....:-"An unhandled exception of type 'System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException' occurred in mscorlib.dll
Additional information: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation."
Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
Invalid Argument=Value of '10' is not valid for 'SelectedIndex'.
I have a .NET application which is using the Microsoft.mshtml PIA. It frequently experienced exceptions with a message saying that the Microsoft.mshtml assembly or one of its dependencies is missing. Weirdly enough, this happens on some machines, but works fine on others! (actually, it works fine on the majority of machines)
I have a code that basically grab data from a file, split into array and use a FOR loop to input data into a different file. I want to use thread pool to create multiple threads to do a specific task. For example for the array() I want a thread to read the first item in a array and perform the task, a second thread reads the second item and perform the task, a third thread reads the third item and perform the task, etc. How would I add thread pool to something like:
Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim data As String
There are the javascript codes inside a web application which was developed with through Microsoft Visual Basic. When to run javascript code on my local machine,it doesn't working on Windows Server 2003.I'm getting the Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object required error with below code. Also,I check out the IDs, no problem.
Code:
function AlertHata(oObject) { var iID=''; var dKDVOran=0.0;
When I start my application I get the following error:
method not found microsoft.visualbasic.msgboxresult
I have tried repairing my .NET installation.
Note: This error only occurs on one machine. On every other machine it works fine which makes me think something with the .NET assemblies was corrupted. It was working fine on the broken machine a few days ago.
I have created an application in VB.Net 2010 and am using an Access 2010 db. Connecting to this DB I use the Provider= Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 and it works fine on my machine. This was a recent update from using Jet as that provider was having issues on client Win64 computers that had Access 2007 or 2010 installed.Basically my issue is that I get the error that Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 is not installed when I try to run the application on the client.
The problem however, is that I do not want ask the users to install Data Access Objects in addition to .Net 4.0. I want a simple install that they can run and upgrade to .net 4.0 if they need to. The above thread states a solution as "You can also consider to use ADO.NET object in System.Data.OleDb namespace to connect to the Access database instead of the Provider. In my opinion, this is the best choice since the ADO.NET provides you the powerful data access objects." This sounds like a great option, however I cannot find any way to install the ACE dll and get it to work on the client.what do I need to include in the client installer to get my application to run on systems without Access installed? Do I just include the ACEODB.dll or is there something else that needs to be done?
I am totally new to Microsoft Access and VB, what i am trying to do is i have a form with unbounded textboxes which i would like upon clicking a button save the text in each textbox in its unique field.[code]...
The textbox (trigger) for the calendar is contained within a control, which is contained within an update panel.I found an article assisting with this issue, and it informed me to do the following
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load Dim tScript As String = "$(function(){
