So as it says in title i need to copy several files from one folder to another. But i dont need to copy folder with files. i need to copy several files to another folder..
And show progress in progressbar.. is there a way how to do it, cos i found only how to copy 1 file showing progress..
To improve performance, when one has many files to readwrite it is better to save them in smallergroup in different folders. Is there a magic number over which it is better to start splitting the folder? for example below "10.000" (invented number) files can be stored in one single folder, while above that it is better to start storing files in multiple folders.

I have a ticketing application and I want to create a date based, sequential, ticket number.I'm leaning toward something based on Posix time as this generates a sufficiently large number and the likelihood of any two ticket numbers overlapping is slim to none (two people would have to just happen to hit the button at exactly the same time on two perfectly synchronized systems).Has anyone done anything like this or have any code snippets/ suggestions? How to locate a button based on the handphone number or any number? That means if I assign the button to coordinates 25, 14 and number 1 as the button name. So when i key in 1 in the text box, only that button will light up the rest wont. So that means the statement will be like:

I have a dataview object that is being populated by database fields - so I can sort on these partulular columns by specifying the actual column names without any difficulty. However, I have been asked to add a few more columns to the dataview, and these columns will be calculated columns, not directly derived from an underlying database column.The users want to be able to sort on these new columns as well - even though there is no actual column name I can use to sort.
I have not been able to see where I can sort a dataview based on the actual column integer value used when the user clicks the appropriate heading to sort.

The behavior I see is that the messagebox comes up after leaving the max row even when the user is trying to leave the grid. I can lose the messagebox and deal with notification some other way but I thought someone else may have come up with something a little more sophisticated to handle simply causing attempting to add to many records to navigate out of the grid to the next UI control.

View 2 RepliesI have created a database that allows me to sort through the hundreds of pictures I have based on certain criteria. The file path for each picture is stored in a text box in the database (file path). I am currently using this code to copy the files to a new folder:

However, this only copies the first file in my query not all the others. I am at a loss as how to loop through them all so they all end up in their new destination.

I apologize if it is not. I am trying to write a script in Visual Studio 2008 (using a VB project) that will, upon the clicking of a button:
- A file object will be created.
-Said file object will read in a number of files from a specified file path.
-A dataset will be created and populated with fields from two columns within a database table; app_id and company_name.
-The script will read through the file names and fields recorded in the dataset, renaming the file to the app_id if the original file name contained the company_name.
The code I have so far to do this:

The problem is that currently this code will only rename the file if the file name and company_name match exactly, ideally I'd need to include a clause to make it rename if the file name is "LIKE" or "contains" the company_name.

I have another process before this that will create the PDF's based on the files listed in the listbox.What I am having trouble with is verifying that the PDFs that are created in the Test1 and Test2 folders equal the counts from the listboxes. This count needs to match before running the next process. I'm kind looking for wait or loop until both counts match, again before running the next process.

I have an old system developed in Visual Basic. How can I determine what Visual Studio version to use based on the source code files? I've tried to upgrade the application using VS2005, VS2008 and VS2010. With VS2005 when I attempt to upgrade the source, it says the system was developed in a newer version. I have a page which lists all the files in a particular folder (all PDFs), using a data-table and gridview. I'm currently sorting this table by the filename (by using a dataview), which isn't that helpful, and I want the gridview of files sorted by the file created or file modified date (as recorded in Windows). If that's not possible, a second option would be to extract the date from the file name string (no problem doing that), and sort the dataview/datatable or gridview based on that.
